I usually use drawing pen for the outline. As for the coloring job, I usually use watercolor and water-soluble pencils.. And markers, sometimes.

Seriously, this was amazing. You can tell that it took a long time to draw this, and even after Tails and I asked--mostly on a crack-based whim--you did this.

it took me about 4 drawings for this piece. The first one is gone, killed with my eraser. The second one is abandoned because it turns ugly as soon as I outlined it. I was in a terrible mood swing when I did the third one I missed so many details..
The fourth one needs 8 hours to finish. Even I was very excited when it's done. ^^
Tails: sure, but I'm afraid you have to wait because right now I have an order that must be finished this weekend. >.<
But I still can do the DDR pic in my free time, during the coffee break.
