Okay, so this is my first Sprite I made.

Image

Spoiler: What I used. Slight GS3 spoilers-ish. Tagged to be safe. And to save space.
So, I used Iris's sad pose:

Then I took evil!Dahlia's eyes (from the end of 3-5, when she's in Iris's body):

I edited them a bit, cleaned them up, flipped them, and made them blue:

Then I took Viola's dress and cut out the white part--it became skin later on:

I took it to greyscale:

I put the head on the body and drew in the chest. Then I re-colored the hand (had to redo it since Viola's skin tone is darker than Iris/Dahlia's.). And I was done.

So, for my first custom, how did I do? What should I work on? Any advice? I know the neck looks a little ragged, since I free-handed it and my hand was already getting kinda sore. But other than that...?

you should probably draw in the neck area and add darker shading. if possible clean up the shirt lines in the chest. other then that it looks great.

The head looks a little disconnected from the neck but other than that, it's pretty good for your first sprite.

Oh yeah; it does sort of look wierd to have those little rosy blush-lines with angry eyes. Something in my head was telling me there was a mood contrast, and I think that's it.
I'm gone for so long, and the colors got all psychedelic! Woohoo!

This is pretty good, but a few things along with what other people mentioned:
1. Her neck is in the wrong place - it should meet her head further back on the right. Look at Iris for reference.
2. This could probably be fixed with shading, but the line of her cleavage is bugging me.
3. Her hand is a different skin tone than her face/body.
4. Her hair on the right side - it's a little unclear where it's supposed to be sitting in contrast with her shoulder. There are a few pixels that go over the shoulder, but it looks like it's supposed to be behind her body.

I don't think the rosy cheeks are a problem.
Like the eye modifications!
