Suddenly Jade felt something behind her. She turned quickly, but before she could see what was behind her, everything had turned dark. The last thing she felt was Detective Morgan's grip on her shoulder, and her falling off the barstool to the hard ground...

Eddy strode into the bar, his trademark shades covering his face. He glanced round, and found saw Sano was outside, fiddling a piece of expensive equipment. He started to walk over to him, and promptly tripped over his own feet.
"Err... Hi Sano. What d'you call me here for? Isn't really my kind of joint. But I brought the stuff, like you asked." He gestured to the bag slung over his shoulder. If he'd been trying to go for the tough guy look it hadn't really worked. A pink Hello Kitty bag doesn't exactly say 'Keep Away. I'm tough'

A rush of memories returned to her as she heard those words. Running... Running for her life. Screaming as death surrounded her... her friends last magic used to help her escape....
"Pass your magic... onto me?"
Two words instantly entered her head. They seemed so right... Like she knew them all her life. Like they were her own name...
"Is...is this what magic is like?"
Suddenly, darkness enveloped her again, and she found herself on the floor of the bar again, thoroughly confused.
"D-detective Morgan?"
