I didn't get when you made Phoenix cry in 3-1 and Grossberg says something and Mia replied: Let him! That P on his chest doesn't stand for Phoenix anyways! Or something like that. >.>

On a slightly random note this is a good topic. XD

Actually, I assumed she was referring to Perjury or lying on the stand. She'd just accused him of lying prior to his breakdown, so it makes sense.

I'm so glad I have a basic knowledge of pop culture, I understood every joke, and I'm pretty sure I knew where it came from.

This may be the wrong place to ask this, but when does that "Excuse me princess" line come in? I hear it was in the games, but I played all three localised games and never saw it. I also never saw these two sprites

Spoiler: I'm saving space!

Spoiler: Isn't that nice of me?

Thanks.

The first sprite was supposed to be in case 1-2 when April May takes the stand, but it was cut out due to lack of memory. I don't know where the secnd one is from though.

and as for the "Well, Excuuuuuse me Princess!" line, it's from the Legend of Zelda Animated series. that line was Link's catchphrase when Zelda rejected his romantic advances. that show was the single most scarring/awesome thing of my childhood so that why I know that line.

Here's a link to all the times it's said in the series, in case you don't believe me:

"Excuse me princess" comes from late in 2-2,
Spoiler: 2-2
when you press Ini's statement about what her sister told her

Also, neither of those sprites were ever used in any of the games. Just like Larry's "shocked" animation.

EDIT: 60 seconds late.
No, I seriously don't have anything else to put here besides a link that gets me rewards when people click on it.

You know, I don't want to sound rude, but I reall thought out of all the pop culture references, the 300 joke and the Kelis song joke was the easiest to get.
The song is played in sooo many movies, has been covered by many different people, and has been extremely popular in the early 2000's. The 300 joke is all over the internet, as well as t.v., even here in court-records.

I guess not. Some people might have missed the song, and the movie(especially the qoute), is...memorable to those who know about it.
Don't mind me, just passing through.

It makes more sense if the double double were some coffee since he is Canadian, as opposed to the popular hamburger from a fast food chain.

Srsly, though. Throughout the games I've seen ladders shaped like an "A" and ladders shaped like a "/", but Nick's always called both of those types a stepladder. I always thought that the "A" shaped ones were stepladders and the "/" shaped ones were ladders. So what IS the difference?

Relevant crossover ftw.. :garyuu: ..

I hope you played at least one Devil May Cry game to understand the reference? Because there is a reason they said SPARDA instead of SPARTA.

I specifically registered because no one was referencing my favorite joke in the entire frigging series.

Godot: ...and you're the spoon, Your Honor.
Judge: What? I'm no spoony bard, I'll have you know!

I.

JUST.

DIED.

I literally curled up under my blanket and proceeded to wail "OMIGODOMIGODOMIGODICANTBELIEVEHESAIDTHATOMIGODOMIGOD"

I think it wasn't so much the reference as to the fact that I've loved that line ever since I was a kid, so it really hit me hard.

Stepladders have steps, while ladders have rungs. Rungs are narrow rods that one stands on, so technically a stepladder just has wider steps. It's a minor difference, but a difference nonetheless.

In Final Fantasy IV, the sage Tellah, for reasons I can't quite recall, becomes furiously enraged at Edward, the bard. This results in a battle sequence between the two, in which Tellah would punctuate each attack against Edward with an accusation or insult. The most famous insult Tellah screams?

"YOU SPOONY BARD!!!"

I dunno. Over 9000 jokes are a little too easy, and it'd be just a pathetic attempt. Well-integrated things like the SPARDA one are awesome though.

I pretty much got most of the references. Anyone who didn't should try going out (or on the internet) more often.

Those are the worst-- SO OBVIOUS, yet I never catch 'em.
(Penny Nichols)

(Will Powers)
(Jack Hammer)
(Lotta Hart) and
(Romein LeTousse) are the most obvious "I can't believe I didn't get that!" ones.
