Don't forget to download and install the PWFont. PWLib reverts to Arial if it isn't found. (I forgot to mention this, my mistake).

My server isn't too fast, so a lot of people = slow.

If your impatient and want PWLIB to download faster, use Download Accelerator Plus (DAP).
Makes it go MUCH faster.
Just google it, shouldn't take too long to install and you'll have it in no time.
Back, check out LOZ AA.

I think we'd all prefer if people didn't do that.
The way DAP works is that it basically makes 4+ connections to the site, therefore, to other people trying to download, they have to deal with the slowdown from 4 people downloading it rather than one.

Just 'cause you can't run the program (which is lame in itself :( ) shouldn't mean you can't run any output programs, right?

I can't seem to get AIGE to run.
I think it may be the video card drivers but I can't for the life of me figure out what I need to do to update them.
I even tried internet searches and got nothing.

Is there a way to disable the blur on the message box and everything else? I finally managed to make ema say stuff, but everything looks really blurry and the box at the bottom seems misplaced.

Other than that, awesome. I had some problems because I forgot quotes in the run script and was wondering why it crashed, but everything works fine now.

Is the background stretching a planned function? It looks kinda weird to have those stretched pixels.

edit:

Text is pretty hard to read because of that. Also cust/trucygs4.jpg to which one of the tutorials refer isn't anywhere in the package. Did i miss something?

May I ask though, why do you dislike mirroring? Without mirroring, downloads could take AAGGESS XD Just a question anyways *begins to download*

I think it's more of "unauthorised mirroring" case. He probably doesn't want his program to spread around to too much different locations, since if he updates it or something he'd have to go hunt everyone down who hosts the old version to make them update it. If only selected people host it, they can easily update it since he'd have some form of contact with them, as they had to ask for authorisation first.

He's stated over MSN to me that the reason he doesn't want mirrors is simply because he wants to see how many people download it.

I'm having difficulties right on the start point of the program (it crashes).

in the log file everything seem to run ok and the logging stops after the next line:
Code:
(13:19:22) <Script> Creating a new texture with id 276 from PW\character\Ema Young\Ema_VeryMad01.png

I'd appreciate any effort of helping me :)

Here's the startup file content:
Code:
#include(tutogame.hlsl)
[main]
scriptsrender();
processsystemevents();
jumptoscript("game");

here's the tutogame.hlsl content:
Code:
#include(pwlib/pwlib.hlsl)

[game]
runscript("pw_initpwlib");
runscript("pw_initpwbgs");
runscript("pw_createema");
changetitle("PWLib Tutorial Game");
jumptoscript("run");

[run]
runscript("showpwchar");
runscript("pw_showmessagebox");
runscript("pw_usepwbgcourthall");
runscript("pw_setnameboxtoema");
runscript("setlipsynctochar");
runscript("pw_enableemanormal");
runscript("pw_showadvarrowmenu");
message("Yes!");
message("My name is Ema Skye!");

Apart from that though, this is freaking fantastic. ^_^ Easy to understand too, especially for people with a little bit of programming experience.

Edit: Boyo, it's in the wrong place. It has to be after where it tells you to. Look for a similar line in the comments and put it after it. :)

Did you guys install the PWfont?
http://www.ksatechnologyhq.com:1357/pwlib/pwfont.fon
put this in c:\windows\fonts

Also found a weird bug. When i got the add evidence to the court record animation, my pc freezes for around 5 seconds (with every effect that you get on random freezes, all the sound+music stutters and freezes on a half second loop, and everything stops moving)

After that the font starts to behave really weird, showing some random characters and corruption after the end of line, especially visible in the second line of dialogues.

The freeze only happens for the first time, after the script loops everything works like it should.

You need to follow the tutorial file. This is just bare bones engine without any demo game or anything installed. The first tutorial describes what to do to get it working.

You don't nessecerially have to do that. You just have to modify the startup.aigehsl file to #include your main script (or you can just write your main script directly into it), and either have a function in your main script called "game" or modify the startup.aigehsl file to call a different script instead.

Yeah, but to do that you need to know of its existence and what everything means, which is why there's a need to read the tutorial. :P

For example,
Quote:
and either have a function in your main script called "game" or modify the startup.aigehsl file to call a different script instead.
without reading the tutorial most people won't have any idea that there has to be
Code:
#include(pwlib/pwlib.hlsl)
[game]

and such in the code.

Yes, I've done that. I'm beginning to wonder if that's what the problem is.

EDIT: It happens when I take the font out and it uses Arial too. Maybe it's a resolution problem?

Wow. Thanks a lot KSA_tech, it looks great (and doing the tutos before releasing was just a brilliant idea.)

Unfortunately, I can't read the PWLib in a Nutshell file. Both Firefox and IE freeze when I try to read it; I've also downloaded it but for some reason nothing happens when I try to open it.

I'm probably going to figure out what's going wrong myself, but if anyone here has an idea...

EDIT: My bad. My version of Adobe acrobat was outdated ><

So, i have two files with codes now...

One is startup.aigehls, on this file is this:

Code:
#include(tutogame.hlsl)

The "tutogame.hlsl" file is in the same folder like the "startup.aigehls" file.

On "tutogame.hlsl" file is this:

Code:
#include(pwlib/pwlib.hlsl)

[game]
runscript("pw_initpwlib");
runscript("pw_initpwbgs");
runscript("pw_createema");
changetitle("PWGame");
jumptoscript("run")

[run]
runscript("showpwchar");
runscript("pw_showmessagebox");
runscript("pw_setnameboxtoema");
runscript("setlipsynctochar");
runscript("pw_enableemanormal");
runscript("pw_showadvarrowmenu");
message("Yes!");
message("Just a test-message!");

So, what is wrong? I see only a black screen.
