Got some by Cursor [the compilation books, which are better value, and the one released last month] and also 2 by another artist. Purchase also came with ad for that 'Best Partner' book which I suspect will be the holy grail of doujinshis for this pairing, so let's hope I can get it [if so, yes I will attempt to scan it for you people]

But lately I've been thinking about how their relationships would actually be, and while Phoenix/Edgeworth does seem like it would be more "romantic", Phoenix and Maya would have fun together, and I think Phoenix would probably be happier in a situation where it was more fun! than angst!. And there definitely does seem to be love between the two, although it's debateable whether it's a romantic love or not. But anyway, I guess the dynamic between Phoenix and Maya is starting to seem a lot more interesting to me.
tl;dr: I'm slowly converting to Phoenix/Maya-ism.

I used to like Phoenix x Edgeworth better too. Game 1 was all about Phoenix x Edgeworth, I don't see Phoenix x Maya in game 1.
I still like the pairing a lot, it would be my 2nd favourite in the series, but by the end of game 3 I just realised I like this pairing even better. I mean, Phoenix x Edgeworth is a lovely, touching, hot pairing but Phoenix and Maya? I simply can't bear them to be apart.
I played most of the series with the Phoenix/Edgeworth slash goggles, which meant at the time I dismissed the hintings to this pairing in game 2 and most of 3 as 'not enough evidence'. 3-5 converted me to this pairing though. Phoenix loves Maya, I don't think it's deniable. Sure we can dismiss it as a platonic, familial love but I see no reason why something can't develop and the writers did drop enough hints to instill the possibility. [A teasing undertone, but still there.]
Also Phoenix x Maya somehow seems more feasible in the Apollo Justice plot/timeline than Phoenix x Edgeworth. My impressions, anyway.
I think we are waiting on Mia. We may be waiting till 2019 or whenever the trial is set though.

I've never played Apollo Justice and I'm not sure I plan to, but are you referring to when
I'm not sure if that's a true spoiler or not, but if it is that's very cute.
Also, Phoenix/Edgeworth seems to be strongly based on Phoenix helping Edgeworth to be a better person, and to be less isolated and guarded, (among other things). Granted, Edgeworth really did need some of the resolutions in his life that came from being helped by Phoenix, but it's pretty much a necessity of Phoenix/Edgeworth that Edgeworth changes for him, being no longer "too proud to hug it out" and more open to others. Whereas, Phoenix likes Maya exactly how she is. He might think she's being silly or ridiculous at times, but if those aspects of her personality really bothered him that much, he'd act differently around her than he does (like although he does consider Larry a friend, playing the game you can kind of tell that some of Larry's behaviors are just godawful annoying to him). It seems like she likes him exactly as he is, too. And, "I like you the way you are" (to me at least) beats out "I'm trying to fix you" any day.

You make a good point there. We already have ample evidence from the games that Phoenix and Maya do seem to complement each other very well and bring out the best in each other. [And Phoenix, at least, seems to chronically miss her when she's not around and really value her emotional support.] Phoenix - Edgeworth bring out the best in each other but more from a perspective of uncovering the truth and fighting for justice in the courtroom. Partners for great justice, certainly, and although I can hypothetically see a touching functional romantic relationship between them, it seems that Phoenix-Maya give each other the type of emotional support seen more typically in supporting romantic relationships in their lives outside their careers and pursuit of justice. [Oh, and they probably would have more fun.]
I can also see a Phoenix/Edgeworth happening ~1-5 , but downgrading to 'just friends' upon Edgeworth's return in game 2. [Because Phoenix was very hurt by Edgeworth's disappearing before game 2]. Maybe they saw it just wouldn't work that way.
Partly, but I also have other reasons.
GS4.. well Edgeworth still has issues. And in the GS4 timeline, Phoenix has issues, let's face it. Edgeworth's issues could help him help Phoenix with mutual understanding.. or it could go the other way. Note I am positive that Edgeworth would remain fully loyal and supportive of Phoenix, regardless of their relationship being platonic or not, but he probably would have trouble giving the proper emotional support to Phoenix and his 'issues'.
Also Edgeworth is frequently based overseas in the trilogy. I don't believe he'd abandon Phoenix, ever, but it's a reasonable assumption that in the 7 years he spends at least a large proportion of the time overseas, I'm sure he'd help Phoenix from afar and keep in close contact, but still, it's another barrier to their relationship. Maya is more feasible, at worst she's only 2 hours away from Phoenix.
The DVD reference at least proves that Phoenix and Maya are in close contact. I assume Phoenix is trying to distance and obscure his life from Apollo as much as possible, but that still slips through, hehehe. Every single episode.

Actually, Mia and random people sometimes talked to each other in random conversations across the court. I always wondered why nobody thought it was weird Mia turning up and all....
This trial will last forever, so *somebody* had better do Mia.
Oh yes, there isn't that much meaning in this month's GS Snapshot, but in vague shippy potential, Maya does seem to be resting her head on Phoenix's shoulder. I believe he and Edgeworth are freaking out about the dead? Mia and Godot! scene and Mia holding that little model 'The Thinker' [!] And it's official art and all.
