He wasn't killed in two places. Detective Goodman was killed in the police evidence room by Gant.

It's clear from the luminol

test that blood was there.

notice the blood.

the blood from the first crime

was wiped away...

Phoenix: by the real murderer.

Gant: Well, to be honest, I was a

little panicked, too.

Gant: I had a bad feeling about it,

but never knew it would come

Gant: Even so, the blood was just

pouring out.

Gant: I didn't know who might

stumble in, so I was wiping

it up.

From Gant's own testimony, this is what happened. That's how Goodman's body ends up in Edgeworth's car's trunk at the Prosecutor's Office. He wasn't killed in two places: he was killed in the Police Department's Evidence Room & his body placed in the trunk of Edgeworth's car.

She(?) asked why the police had filed the fight that was shown at the Security camera was classed as murder. They found no corpse, and there was no one to move the corpse since in that case it would've been caught at the camera :3

I think it might have been Gant who just wanted to get off the hook.
