Due for release on September 16th 2008 in the US, and the 19th in Europe, I have been reading copiously about this game and I think it may be a winner.
The IGN page is http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/885/885629p1.html .
I would reccommend watching the videos!

This game uses three Physics engines on the 360/PS3. The usual Havok engine used for moving many things around as well as DMM which synthesises properties of materials, such as wood splintering, glass shattering and metal denting and does so dependant on speed of collision, mass of objects etc.
The final engine those of you who have played GTA IV and Madden will be familiar with is Euphoria! This gives the characters self preservation instincts and real AI, as apposed to a selection af predecided animations.

As Star Wars games go, I'm not usually a massive fan due to the lack of characters and freedom, but this seems to solve the latter at least, and has some canon characters (Vader) as well as new, Lucas approved (so therefore also kind of canon) characters such as Vader's apprentice and new Jedis.

It's a game that I will certainly buy.
What are your thoughts?

Eh, I'm more interested in the PSP version simply because my PSP's library is a little slim and it will contain extra content not available on the other versions of the game (such as classic moment recreations).

I get to rip a box open and shove a splinter into a stormtrooper, then send the impaled soldier into a pillar with a lightsaber in his stomach.

I am looking forward to this.

Dude, I'm nearly crapping bricks just acknowledging the fact that a new Star Wars game is coming out. I'm stuck getting the PS2 version, though. XD

Will wood be seen much in star wars? I mean, will Endor be an area here?

Trees on the Wookiee planet, giant wooden doors in the wookiee planet. That was just a description of the engine, don't forget. I'm sure the metal and the glass effects will play a much greater part.

Ooooh, I hadn't thought of that... But yeah, cool, I can't wait for it. KOTOR bores me by now.

DO WANT. The tech is impressive, most impressive, and it looks like a great game to blow off steam in by being a force wrecking ball.

I very much want it. I'll be going for the Wii version. According to IGN, this is some of the best Wii controls yet. I'm also curious about the DS version, even if the touch screen controls look kinda clunky. Good thing you can use the buttons.
If you are reading this, then you're not illiterate.
