Why So Serious?

I saw this movie at midnight last night and I was blown away. It's no doubt the best superhero movie to come out in recent years. I wouldn't know where to begin in a full review, so I'll just say watch it.

Would it help if I said Heath Ledger is an absolute GENIUS who will sorely be missed?

No, it won't. And you're not helping MY rabid anticipation of watching this movie when it comes to my country in August. ;_;

Now about the movie. I just saw it last night.

HEATH LEDGER = OMFG WIN

His death was SUCH a loss. D: Now I want to see all of Brokeback Mountain. As the Joker he was SO much scarier and psychotic than any other Joker before him. (Here's looking at you, Jack Nicholson)

Spoiler: The Dark Knight
And the Joker is hawt in a nurse's dress. :P *shot*

Harvey Dent was awesome in the beginning of the movie! I think as far as D.A.'s go he could even pwn Phoenix. O_O I mean, punching a witness holding you at gunpoint IN THE FACE? That's just badass. :D
Spoiler: The Dark Knight
Well, until that chick died and he got half his face burned off. Poor guy. :sadshoe:

Also, I never thought Gary Oldman could be so awesome with a mustache. :)

The action scenes felt a bit weird at times, but it was an awesome movie overall. Go see it! It's my 2nd favorite movie out this year. (WALL-E being the first)

I've been following the hype for this since last december and when I saw it Thursday at midnight, I was freaking blown away. Everything was just about perfect.

I also concur with fatalfeline about the wardrobe, it was highly amusing.

But as everyone gushes, Heath Ledger stole the show, no holds barred. Jack was good, but Ledger one-upped him, by a country mile. I was glued to the screen the whole time because I wasn't watching Heath Ledger playing the Joker, I was watching Mr. J. play with Gotham.

If you haven't seen this movie, what are you still doing here? GO SEE IT NOW!

I finished watching this film last night...and I must say...I will be seeing this movie in theaters at least 3-4 more times.

The performances were unbelievable. Heath Ledger...the ultimate Joker. Hands down. No questions asked. He stole the show, and we loved every minute of it! Some of what he did actually made me laugh...what does that say about my personality, eh?

Spoiler:
Good luck in finding a replacement Joker to take Ledger's place. If Nolan was smart, we have not seen the last of the Joker. Him hanging there despite being caught and just laughing and basically spitting in Batman's face made you wonder who really won that battle. I almost got pissed when I saw the Joker fall (reminiscent on the Joker's death in the first Batman and I was like "Oh hell no you didn't just reused the 'fall to your death' scene again." Glad they didn't.) but glad to see Batman change his mind.

The story had me gripped from beginning to end, and if you haven't seen it... I agree with Matt. WTF are you doing here, wasting time on this board? This movie has the potential to beat every single movie out there now and even has a chance of breaking box-office records (sorry, Spidey and Green Goblin...Batman and the Joker pwn you.)

Watch this movie...bask in perfection of a comic book movie done exactly how it should have been done (Iron Man also did this, but The Dark Knight takes the bacon *coughHeathLedgerasJokercough*).

If you had enough money to see only one more movie this summer, then The Dark Knight will have you gripping all 2 hours and 30 minutes of its action packed and gripping story.

9.8/10

Only reason why it's not a perfect 10...is because of the passing of Heath Ledger...because a repeat performance...is unfortunately impossible. Rest in peace, Mr. Ledger. You left us a gem that was unearthed at the peak of your career. This movie is yours, and no one can say otherwise. Know well in Heaven, you are the Joker and you are THE best actor this year and have become a legend...and no one can take that from you.

This has to be one of the best films I have seen in years. As hard as I could- I couldn't think of one criticism.

Spoiler: Best part :D
God, the scene with the Joker's 'social expiriment' was my favorite scene. It kept me on the edge of my seat.

ULTIMATE LOL.

I saw the movie today. Originally I wasn't too interested in seeing it because I knew nothing about Batman. I did watch Batman Begins but that was awhile ago and I didn't really remember the story. My friends dragged me to see the Dark Knight anyway. I'm glad I went 'cause it was actually freakin' awesome. I agree with everyone here - Heath Ledger PWNED the movie. The Joker was...ohh so twisted and evil and just amazing. I liked all the supporting characters as well - Alfred, Lucius Fox, and Gordon were absolutely great. This is one of the only two movies I've seen this summer (the other was Wall-E) and it was truly truly worth it :will:

In my opinion, The Dark Knight is something that I would prefer to rent to watch rather than going to the theaters. Why? The Joker is kinda enough to give me nightmares (I get spooked easily), and watching it in some pitch black theater would just give me the heebee-jeebess.

Still, do I believe all the hype that it has been getting. The commercials themselves look impressive. :P

Shame that Ledger had to die....

I saw the movie in theaters last night. Needless to repeat, it was off the fucking hook. Heath Ledger mercilessly stole the show with some great acting from Christian Bale and Aaron Eckhart. Also, The Joker is officially my favorite villain ever. He is what all A-class criminals should be like. He was just so akjsgdhlfgbcegfebsnfvcbaeghdxcb. Sorry, what? WOW! Unbelievably wicked and a complete maniac. No bias, no wishy-washy good-evil crap, just plain, unadulterated evil.

As excellent as the movie was though I'm left wondering what they could possibly do with the sequel.

Spoiler: Major plot and villain spoilers
1) Heath Ledger is dead but The Joker still lives. After seeing him perform, I refuse to believe that anyone can top his portrayal of Gotham's favorite costumed psychopath unless I see it with my own two eyes.

2) The Two-Face coming into the game about two hours into the movie only to unexpectedly die off at the end was a little disappointing. I mean, after all of that "U MUST BE TEH CHAOSTIC LOL" conversation that he had with The Joker you'd think he would get to shed his influence a little more.

3) Not a big spoiler but, how in the holy hell did The Joker plant that cell phone in the dude's body? That was probably the most sickening thing in the movie, yet some people in the movie theater screamed and squealed in fright when they saw the deformed half of Two-Face's face.

Regardless, here's to another successful Batman movie. Hopefully, Christopher Nolan will not be dumb enough to botch the next one up and he'll also hire Hans Zimmermann to do the orchestral score. :D

I give this movie a "Watch It In Theaters" rating.

I saw this movie yesterday, and it was EPIC. The cast for the movie was just PERFECT. Heath Ledger was the perfect Joker, he is what MADE the movie how it was. The Joker was also so evil and twisted, it wasn't even funny. You have to see all the things he did to all the people in the movie, it was just... AWESOME.

The movie was great, I can't tell you how great it was, do yourself a favor, and watch this movie. You won't regret it.

Also, the Pencil part was PRICELESS.

Good. I wasn't the only person thinking it would be awesome to see Edgeworth punch a witness holding him at gunpoint, and then take the gun apart.

Please tell me I also was not the only person to respond to "We can't stop here" with "THIS IS BAT COUNTRY".

Hhaha, Thanks R. Bond.
I saw the movie twice, now I must go see it in IMAX. I noticed that I really didn't like the end of the movie with Harvey since Batman was talking, but seriously every time Joker was on screen or something concerning him bricks were shat. Loved it.
