I SEARCHED AND I SEARCHED, AND I DIDN'T FIND IT.
This, my good CRians, is the Mischief Makers topic. Mischief Makers is one of the best games I have ever played. It's just so...fun. And funny. And cool. Yes, that's how I'll describe it: Cool. What else makes a green-haired robot fight stylish phoenixes who wield golden lances? Why else would an insane biker wolf drive a motorcycle that shoots missiles? Mischief Makers lived on the Rule of Cool, and it rocked.
But there was more than that. It was just...good. It was solid, it was fun, it was amazing. A criminally ignored side-scroller in the age of 3D gaming.
Well, maybe it wasn't ignored...I remember reading all those letters in NP criticizing and defending it...
I just got the last gold gem (The Day OF...!) last year.
Mischief Makers, we salute you.

I bleeding love this game.
Join me in fan-ing it.

And I've wanted Marina in Super Smash Bros. ever since the first one came out.

FUN FACT: My perennial OC, Marina, is named after this heroine.

I never owned the game for myself. I was always trying to filch it off my friend. >_>

I just absolutely love this game. Anyone whose seen me post here in the Video game section knows that by now.

I rented this game several times as a kid despite the fact I really couldn't make passed like 4th level in the first world. Sadly, I never saw it in stores and never go the chance to buy it. Until It suddenly popped back into my mind about this time last year and I brought it on e-bay. Let's put it this way, it's the best purchase I ever made on e-Bay. I have played the game over many time since and it's one of my mostly commonly played game. I think it's sitting in N64 as I post.

The game is just so unique that I never had the same gaming experience as I have had with any other game. Also, The music just rocks while working so well with the game. 2ND MOST FAVORITE VIDEO GAME OF ALL TIME! :larry2:

Oh, Mischief Makers. So many memories. It started by finding one miserable game that actually used the D-pad instead of the analog stick (can you believe me?), and it turned out to be one of the most awesome experiences yet.

Treasure did an awesome job with it. Beautiful graphics, excellent soundtrack, nicely paced difficulty (5-5 will forever be my damnation!), and of course, an intrepid robot hero with unique abilities. "Shake Shake" will forever be ingrained into my brain as a motto to live by. (ok, not so serious, but still...)

But, damn if finding the Gold Gems isn't hard. I still haven't found them all. I should start playing again. (and don't even get me started about S-ranking the game... Curse you, Treasure, and your sadistic tendency to make games uber-difficult in some way.)

I'm going to assume this is referring to event the ending of the game? If so, Cake Marina. She's hot. :larry2:

You know what makes me sad, there isn't much fan art for Mischief Makers and most of it isn't that great (but better then I can ever do). I'm sure that I can't be the only one looking for MM fanart... :yuusaku:

...I really, really wanted to like this game. :larry:

I got to about halfway through the second world and just gave up. It's either that damn hard or I'm that bad. Neither possibility makes me very happy.

It's not really that hard (unless your going for S-Rank and Some Golden Gems), it's just that you need to practice and have a little patience. The game does get hard as you play it but not enough that it should discourage you. Do you remember what part gave you trouble in the second world?

I think it was some lava stage shortly after fighting a boss or something...I don't remember very clearly now, it was about a year ago.

I think I know the level you had trouble with since the the only boss in that level with a stage after it is Flambee. I believe it that was the stage where you have jump from ball to ball or you otherwise you fall in lava. That one takes quite a bit of patience to get past. It took me like 10 tries to pass it... :eh?:
