Guest's Magatama! (images)Topic%20Title

Well, after playing with some sticky tack(sticky magatama? no more waffle-burgers maya!), I was inspired to make mayself a magatama out of epoxy. Epoxy, in case you didnt know, is commonly used in fixing leaks in pipes, and is known for being molded, sanded and painted into plastic to cover up holes. I had some tubes of it from when I made my portables, so I figured it would be good to use! Basically, You mix it in your hand and then mold it, and it becomes like a rock after some time. Well, it makes a good magatama! I painted mine black to see what it would look like, maybe I'll make different colors later!

Guess what I'm making next!

Magatama looks pretty nice, although the black is different. I've been meaning to remake a magatama, but I'll just stick with Sculpey since I have some left over.

Took me a moment to realize you were also making the Gavin G. I thought it was going to be a fishhook or something. :P

I've heard of this "Sculpey" stuff before, how hard does it get? Yeah, after looking back at that picture, it would be a little hard to figure out what it was. I'm finished with it now, it was intended for a necklace, but I decided on a belt buckle, so I can wear it around more often! :edgy: I'll post some pics soon, I'd actually like to touch it up some more, there are a few places that need some work, but it looks great to me.

Also, wearing the belt buckle allows me to do this :rock'n: and this :wall-bang: and *insert Klavier point here* whenever I want!

Oh, and usually you can get epoxy from hardware stores, and maybe walmart.

Nice Magatama! I have one of my own too, made from Super Sculpey. You can get Super Sculpey or any sculpey from an arts store. I also found some in a kids toystore..... O_o

Any hardware store including Home Depot and Lowes. Plus don't forget about that Mighty Putty stuff. And it's not just mail order anymore. Our local Duckwalls store got some in awhile back.
