Annoyed at pairings? RANT!

It's just that I'm annoyed at the amount of Phoenix/Edgey pairings in the AA fan community.
Normally it doesn't bug me so much but there was one time where I saw someone completely object the Phoenix/Iris relationship near the end of T+T on the ground of "Edgey is his bishie" and it almost made me snap. Then I see the demand for an Edgey/Phoenix canon relationship in the new ones and ugh it's just ruining it for me. Why can't they just let em alone. I'll admit the Phoenix/Iris relationship was hasty but it just bugged me that people are seriously asking for Canon gay pairing of Phoenix/Edgey it would ruin AA for me.
Oh also I'm annoyed at Ema/Klavier pairings too. She was a complete pain in AJ whereas he was cool and he can do far far better.
So if theres any pairings you don't like? let us know in a massive rant

The reasons:
1:
They are NOT gay. I mean Phoenix had Iris and it was canon, Phoenix x Mia was strongly hinted, Phoenix x Maya is semi-canon and Phoenix already looked at quite a few girls (Dessie comes to my mind). Edgeworth, although not having a canon romantic relationship, he is just not gay. I don't say it because I ship Edgey x Franny, but because he doesn't act gay. At all. What's so gay about him?

It's way too popular. I don't even see the reason. I didn't even think about such a random and stupid pairing until I came to this site. It's simply baseless. The only base is some kind of weird fangirl thinking "Edgey's so hot. Phoenix is hot too. Together they'll be hot, so I ship them." It's simply wrong. I mean, Maya x Franny would be hot too, but I don't ship them either, because it makes no sense.

It's so popular that it's everywhere. Even in the cute couples thread which is supposed to be a thread for work safe pics. Even in deviantart when I was searching "Miles Edgeworth" about 20% of the pics were gay stuff.

Phoenix x Edgey shippers hate Maya. I love Maya. Put these two together :)

I hate this "OMG close friends = gays" stuff. It's like in Rocky 3 a lot of stupid idiots screamed "OMG Rocky and Apollo are gays!". I mean come on, they just gave each other a friendly hug and they both had wives and families. Have you never hugged anybody other than your love?

Evidence of Edgey not being gay. I don't want any of you to agree with this, but it's interesting. I know 2 girls who say "Gayness kills manliness. Gays are smily not manly. They are just not attractive." Yet they both madly love Edgey.
7: The creators didn't intend it. And after game one when they realized how popular it became (despite being baseless) they even hinted the opposite several times in games 2 and 3. Same goes for the Edgey x Gumshoe pairing.

Phoenix/Edgeworth- after playing through the games again I just really don't see it.
Phoenix/Iris- I really dislike this pairing, I have no idea why though.
Edgeworth/franziska- although I used to like this pairing, after thinking about it again it really is just too much like incest.
edit: this probably should have gone in your least favourite pairings forum, but I guess I've already posted there.

Yeah, this. Most of the time, I'm simply apathetic towards the pairing, but frankly, I'm always bugged by people who think that people in general can't have that kind of friendship without there being romantic feelings involved, regardless of the genders of those involved. (Believe me, I feel this way about het pairings in other fandoms, not just yaoi pairings. And I'm not anti-yaoi, before anyone gets the wrong impression of me.)

And I dont hate Mia, Maya, or any of the PW females for being paired up with Phoenix and Edgeworth. If others want to pair them up with girls, all power to them. I actually like seeing some het pictures with those two. Theyre cute. :3
The only couple I dont really like is EdgeworthxFransizka. I have no idea why not, I just dont. Thats the only one I can think of right now. Maybe because I can hardly see Fransizka in ANY relationship... XD

I'll give you the 'little sister' thing, but look at Gumshoe and Maggey - the pairing is quite implied at the end of T&T, and they're about the same age difference.
However, at the time of T&T, I'll concede that it would be wrong for Edgey/Franny since you're talking about a 19 year old girl being with a 26 year old at the time. However, give it some years and it will probably look better.
((Why is it that a lot of pairings like this are 7 years apart in difference? WHAT IS IT WITH SEVEN YEARS, DAMN IT!? XD))

Edgeworth/Franziska is not something I really see, it seems to be more sibling-like to me... plus, as far as Franziska pairings go, I like her with Adrian more anyway. XD I don't hate the Edgeworth/Franziska one, though.

Still I guess the age gap is fine then it's just that Gumshoe and Maggey are a good pair, both of them are enthusiastic and hopeful and oh so cute pairing. While I'm sure there's probably some obvious similarities in Franziska/Edgey I still think it's too different, at least after Edgey's 'awakening' in JFA where he realised what prosecuting was truly about.
Personally after Franziska describing how she can affectionately whip Gumshoe in T&T I thought it was gonna be a kinda cute pairing though I'm totally not promoting it it was just a brief moment of cuteness on Franziska's part

Well there is kinda evidence y'know?
After all the CANON FACTS about him an Iris (though I think it's rushed too) are kinda obvious evidence, plus in the manga there are numerous references to Maya and Phoenix as a couple, to the point where the judge tells them off for having a lovers spat in court, plus Phoenix has shown interest in various women throughout the series like Dessie and Regina kinda hinting that he's not gay and providing evidence against a Phoenix/Edgy one.

And there is far more evidence for Phoenix x Iris, Phoenix x Mia and Phoenix x Maya than Phoenix x Edgey (of which, there is ZERO).

(This might blow some minds, but I'm actually a straight female, in case anyone was wondering. And I like a non-canon yuri pairing and dislike a non-canon yaoi pairing. Yeah, I know it's weird! XD)

Just kidding, for sure you can demand for a canon BG(boy/girl, I really have no idea how to say it in English, sorry...) pairing and I'm pretty sure Capcom will ignore the demanding like what they do to the yaoi ones.

...P/E is not a canon pairing, nor the Phoenix/Maya one.P/I used to be canon but after five years every thing could have changed. There are pretty a lot hints for all these three pairings in the game, it's not fangirls' fault if you can't see some of them...but well, yes, none of them is canon, includes the P/E one. Happy now?

I tried to go through the Phoenix/Maya thread exactly because of this...well I failed because there are so many pages there and I still have other work to do, but as I can remember, fangirls seldom say something like "I'm really annoyed by the Phoenix/Maya pairing because it's too popular", "Phoenix/Mia is totally baseless" or "the Klavier/Ema pairing is just junk". Actually, it is who support BG pairing always bitch about our pairings,and THIS thread is a great example.
