Different from what people do on the Vanlentine's Day, on the WVD, boys make/buy some candies to girls who they love. As what I mentioned in the last chapter, sometimes females give out social chocolate just to be polite. There is also kind of "social candies" in Asia,which males give out just to be polite.) Now Phoenix, Miles and Larry are sitting together,what kind of memory about the White Vanlentine's Day do they have?
Maya: I'm soooooo full now~
Larry: My miso ramen combo tastes not bad, huh?（Tuesday:Miso, 味增 as the original words. A kind of tranditional Japanese soup)

That said, Edgeworth being gay just makes sense to me. I think a lot of people forget that gay and straight aren't the only options--bisexuality exists too. However, I can only see Edgeworth having relationships with men, or Phoenix at least.
The relationship between Phoenix and Edgeworth is more complex and meaningful than that of rivals, or even friends. PW presents a lot of great relationships, but theirs is by far the most beautiful. My feelings about the pairing are perfectly explained by the wonderful fanfic Struggling Against Gravity. Phoenix/Edgeworth makes SENSE to me, and I personally see their feelings becoming romantic after the series. Some people may not like that. Whatever, everyone has his or her own preferences. And it's not just the yaoi fans either. I like romantic relationships between characters of any gender, if the emotion and meaning is there. I'm not partial to male/male, female/female, or male/female. Out of all possible relationships for these two characters, Phoenix being with Edgeworth is the most satisfying for me.
Granted, there are some issues before they can fully realize their relationship. I imagine Edgeworth became aware first of how he felt about Phoenix sometime around 2-4. The most telling scenes are in 3-5 when he speaks to Iris in the detention center. He clearly believes Phoenix and Iris care about each other, and it must pain him, yet at the same time he wants Phoenix to be happy. When he doesn't present Phoenix as the one Iris is hiding her secret from, and she catches on to the fact that he's sharing a secret of his own, I can't believe anyone could read this in any other way. Edgeworth is aware of his feelings, but he regards them as a "deep, dark secret," something that has to be hidden. Perhaps he's ashamed of his homosexual feelings, or perhaps he views them as a betrayal of Phoenix's trust. Either way, he has a long way to go before he's comfortable with them. Edgeworth's an emotionally troubled character, and Nick has some work to do in getting him to loosen up. I'm disappointed that the hospital scene wasn't shown, so I may end up trying my hand at some fanfic for it, some time.
On Phoenix's end, things are a bit more uncertain. He obviously cares very much for Edgeworth, but I don't think he realizes in what way just yet. He likely thought of himself as straight, and only becoming aware of Edgeworth's feelings for him and thinking on his own feelings will he realize he is in love with his friend.
I definitely think it will work. Struggling Against Gravity is pretty much exactly how I see their relationship starting. Edgeworth doing something he regrets in a rare illogical moment, and Nick thinking on his feelings and then making the first decisive move to starting a relationship. I selectively choose my canon, so I generally choose to believe GS4 never happened and Nick and Edgey continue to make their names as lawyers, while sleeping together on the side.
As for how others will be affected... Maya probably would be happy for Nick, and maybe it won't even be a huge surprise. Pearls might be confused by the whole thing, but she'll accept it in time. Franziska will probably pretend it's not happening. Gumshoe will warn Nick not to do anything to hurt Edgey.
As far as the seme/uke thing goes.... I'm also a fan of the switching hypothesis, but Nick as the initiator, at least at first, seems more likely. But I'm sure Edgewortch can be pretty aggressive when he becomes more comfortable. It'll take some time for them to work things out, but I'm sure they'll have a very healthy and happy and often amusing sex life.
In the end, they're just two people who happen to be right together. I don't know how anyone can deny that.

However, after playing AJ, not only do I feel like they've completely screwed
over, but it now makes EdgeWright even less possible. Not that I thought there was a chance of Capcom making them canon before, but now they've made it near impossible for any future EdgeWright hinting to make much sense. Wow, I've never actually posted in this thread before. I doubt they'll have Edgeworth in GS5 too. However, I wouldn't mind some strong hinting as to what he has been up to since 3-5 (besides what we'll find out in his game).
