I was wondering... phoenix took 14 cases in 3 years, so that's about 4-5 cases / year.
That really isn't too much, and there is a lot of time between the cases, especially during TaT.
I was wondering if they could fill in these gaps like they already did once with case 1-5.
Like Turnabout in the Wind, I can really see it happening just about any time after 2-2 and 3-2. Especially since the time gap between 2-4 and 3-2 is huge, why couldn't it go there?
Yeah, these chapters can't be too significant ones since the main story can't be changed, but I'd be really happy with a game like this.

But a prequel case with Mia and Legal Assistant Phoenix as her sidekick = DO WANT.
I still think they could potentially have Phoenix and Maya in the theoretical GK2. Have them investigate something.. anything. There's kind of an investigation phase...

I wouldn't want a whole game of "Turnabout in the Wind" type cases. What would be the point when they have no effect on the main story? It'd feel like a game without a climax.
Fan cases that you know aren't supposed to affect the canon is one thing. But I'd hate to see the series officially be crammed with filler. Like Naruto.

. Why can't there be other characters, other than those, whose stories are fleshed out across multiple cases between the current ones? I could imagine one about a mass-murderer who frames somebody in each of the 3 to 5 murders he commits. But across these cases, the question would linger as to whether one person even commit all these simmilar murders. It's a plot idea that works across multiple cases that can be close together, and the closest the games have come to it are in 3-2, 3-5 and 4-4: Spoiler: Those cases

Personally I don't think it'd be too much of a stretch to do a few filler games that take place between the cases of the PW trilogy. I can't imagine Phoenix was able to keep up the rent and afford to treat Maya to endless food, when he was only taking 3-4 cases a year, with some being charity cases. It would make the fans happy to have more cases to play starring their favorite characters, Capcom could make gobs more cash,

Yes, it introduces Ema, but from Apollo's prospective, it really doesn't matter.
Okay, it gives a better reason for Edgeworth to leave, but that's it.

more cases is always good, and they would fill out the story very well
plus, revisiting old characters would be great. it could be a spinoff series

? As for how he gets by given that he's taken very few cases, it is easy explainable: he's a member of an illegal, underground poker club (which partly explains why he's so good at playing poker in AJ).

But notice that like, in GS4, Maya disappeared, and a few other characters (that we really miss!).
I hope they bring them back in this "next game", because I'll be ticked if they don't at least reference them!

I agree that I would much rather see Phoenix as an unofficial Edgeworth sidekick, helping to solve crimes from the sidelines (and not bound by the law, ha ha ha) than to see him trying extra cases that have no hope of impacting the main plot. When they added 1-5 they already contradicted series details, so I don't have much faith that they'd be able to do it again without the same results.
But then, I always prefer for canon to move forward than to move back. It's so much easier on my timeline ;_;

T&T was released months after AJ here. I still enjoyed it. The only time I felt like you say was when I reached the ending of 3-5 and that was only because I knew the happy ending only lasted for two months.
