I think Pink Princess didn't actually mean "this proves they are a couple!" -- I think she meant, based on their interaction in 3-5, it's plausible. I think it was a response to someone earlier in the thread saying she hates him and it would never happen in a million years.

As to how someone could support
/ , there are actually a number of reasons. One is some find the current dynamic of Franny abusing Phoenix appealing, for a number of reasons, and others love to see a strong woman like Franny brought into submission by the right man, it's sexist, but it is still a relationshop arch-type that is enjoyed by a number of people.And then, related to above, there's the Tsundere arch-type, (if you see her as the classical, or modern version, or neither I think is a matter of perspective).
Why Phoenix, because those above all only related to Franny?
1. He's the main character, therefore, we emphasize with him most, and are more likely to put him with people we like.
1.5 Related, in that as the main charactrer we see him interact with Franny the most.
2. Phoenix has just the kind of vanilla hero personality (*puts on anit-flame armor*) that allow almost any relationship type to work with him, because we've seen it before. A lot of the side characters don't.
3. Many see him as the next logical person if you assume Franny is straight, and that Edgeworth is incest.
I could go on on both points, but I think I just wanted to answer WHY people like it, not try to change your minds. Don't get why those are appealing?

Also, even as a supporter of
/ I will admit that it is a couple that is hard to do right, and I don't think could be done it canon. My personal feelings on that matter is that you can't let Franny falling for Phoenix weaken her character, and you have to be careful not to make Phoenix too much of a wuss, unless, of course, that's WHY you like the couple, in which case go ahead, it's just not to my taste. And I also think it would require too much character devlopment to cram into these games, especially as it wouldn't be related to the cases at hand. A long running anime/manga series, maybe, but it would require too many games I think to make the changes over time gradual enough to not make it look like it comes out of nowhere....Sorry, back to the thread.
