I know and you know when he was announced the winner white supremacists arround the US were cussing out the ass - throwing shit - and doing the Von Karma head bang on the nearest solid object :headbang: . Who knows some of them may have even committed suicide :gant-clap:

Nah. I just don't support gay marriage. If I did, then I would have voted "No" on Prop 8. I have no reason to support it, so I voted "Yes".

You're a moron.

I'm going to guess "I have no reason to support it" really just means "it doesn't affect me so I don't care."

I am disgusted with your indifference, particularly in that you voted anyways while still apparently not caring.

BUT HH IT'S OKAY THEY CAN STILL HAVE CIVIL UNIONS HAHAHEHEHOHOHA

Propositions can be horribly worded at times so the "yes" and "no" choices can be particularly confusing.

Prop 8...I frankly think It should of got voted down. First of all...They just had their right to marry and be recognized...Now they were trying to get rid of it? Fucking crazy. But it seems it sadly passed. So what if the kids learn about gay marriage? You want them to never learn of it? Try and make it not exist? To bad you idiots, it does.

Well....This was off topic. But yeah, glad to get that out.

I'll risk touching off a firestorm in this little Proposition 8 discussion here and ask the ugly question: How was this "right" first granted? It wouldn't happen to be by means of a court ruling, would it? That would help explain why there was a grassroots movement to enact a ban...

Now that I've said that, I will go on to clarify my opinion on marriage as an issue. I believe that marriage should not be a political issue. I don't know whose idea this was, but whoever first suggested that it was a good idea to give the government any legal say regarding who is and is not married deserves to have his ears boxed. If you give the government a foot, it will take a mile every time. Every couple has the right to swear vows of mutual devotion and even call it a marriage if they like, but this does not translate into a right to have their marital status publicly recognized. You have the right to hold an opinion but must everyone else agree with you? Of course not. Agreement touching such things is worthless without free will.

About abortion, I will say this: Regardless of the method, the intended result is the same: the death of a human being. Inability to see or hear the suffering of the victim and the victim's dependence on another human being do not justify murder. If you lock an innocent woman into a soundproof room with no windows, is it okay to kill her by any means whatsoever? You can't hear her, you can't see her, and she can't live very long without your help. The only human beings who do not depend on other human beings are those already dead.

I don't really see any reason to not support it. I'm kinda curious as to why you don't.

Anyway, gay couples can always move to Canada. We're totally cool with it, and stuff.

I wasn't gonna go on the offensive at all; I was just curious about his stance on the issue.

A very flammable issue, I might add. Hence the gasoline bit.

Phh, that's not the worst thing ever.

It's something most of us think at some point in our lives, we just never express it. (You can't tell me you care about everything that happens in the world, there's usually something you'd go meh about. XD) But since this is about abortion and gay marriage, anyone who happens to dissent from the liberal opinion has to be a bastard, amirite? /sarcasm

On the other hand, if you don't care then you shouldn't vote. I mean, if you don't care then it doesn't matter which way it goes.

I voted early this year and mailed in my ballot. I voted for Obama too. Watched the news at 8:00 p.m. right when the news announced the victory. At least now that elections are over, my house won't be getting all these annoying phone calls to go vote any more.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying here. It's not about the mutual devotion, but about the rights you obtain through marriages. Of course, there's a small percentage of the gay population who would like gay marriage to be recognized by the church, but that's not the point - it's about how the law sees a couple. The government needs to be involved in this for this to happen.

I might've understood you wrongly, though.

WAIT THAT'S A DICTATORSHIP!

It's the same thing. Just think of it this way; if a Judge decided to ban gay marriage, then people would still be pissed. For or against, one person (or a small group of people) deciding for an entire state is just bad. So give it some time and try again. I know people don't want to wait forever to marry, but things just can't be decided that way and still uphold the foundations of democracy. If you can use the courts to overturn this, something that was decided by a majority vote, then you could use them to overturn anything that was decided by a majority vote. And that, is not democracy.
