Title: Turnabout Over Coffee
Author: SkullB
Rating: PG
Genre: Mystery I guess
Status: Incomplete
Summary: A prolific artist dies in a coffee shop, and Phoenix Wright needs to both find the truth and deal with a new prosecutor.

Alright, here we go. Hope you guys like it!

Spoiler: Part One: Introduction
"Well, Mr. Holland? What do you think?"
"I can't say I approve of this..."
"Really? Well, in that case, I'll have to persuade you further."
...
"AAAGH!"
"Are we sold yet or not, Mr. Holland?"
"... N... never..."
"Alright, then! Once more!"
...
"NYAAAAAAAAH!"
"Face it, Holland! It's mine whether you like it or not."
"..."
"Just what I thought..."

Spoiler: Part Two: Discovery
"Boy, Nick! What a day!" Maya sighed and tipped back in her chair.
"Maya, if you keep doing that, you'll fall over," said Phoenix. He sighed and laid his head in his hands. "There's absolutely nothing to do," he groaned. "Not a case for months."
"Maybe we need to improve our image!" said Maya, grinning. "I can always make a banner for the office! How about..." Maya gestured with her hands, appearing to be holding a banner. "... 'Wright & Co., Legal Warriors'!"
"Maya, we're not superheroes," Nick said.
"But you have to admit, it's catchy!" said Maya.
Just then, Gumshoe walked into the room, a familiar manila folder in hand and that familiar grin of his on his face.
"And, as if on cue..." Phoenix chuckled.
"Oh, you're not gonna be chuckling after you read this, pal!" Gumshoe handed the folder to Phoenix, who opened it and saw a case file. Maya leaned over Phoenix's shoulder to read along with him.
"Alright! New case!" Maya said, a wide smile on her face.
"Just as I thought," said Phoenix, "another murder case."
"You bet!" said Gumshoe.
"So, why do we get all the murders?" Phoenix said, sighing. "Can't we just get a guy who stole a car or something?"
"Well, what if he hits a guy after stealing the car, huh, Nick?" Maya smirked. "What then?"
"... Maya, quit it," said Phoenix, groaning.
"Anyway, the defendant wants to see you down at the detention center," said Gumshoe.
"Like always," said Phoenix.
"Well?" Maya grinned once more. "Let's go down and meet the guy, already!"
"Alright, whatever," Phoenix said. "We might as well head down right now. After all, there's not much else going on..."

~-~-~

"You... you're Phoenix Wright, right?" A slender, tall man sat behind the glass. "It's nice to finally meet you."
"And I can only assume you're..."
"Nicholas Beatty... Master of the Arts." Nicholas smirked as he tilted his beret that sat atop his head. The stripes adorning his shirt mesmerized Phoenix, and the man's air of elitism quickly snapped him out of it.
"Nice to meet you, Mr. Beatty," said Phoenix. "You were right about my name, sir."
"Of course I am," said Nicholas. "Nobody in their right mind could mistake that spiked hair."
"That's funny," said Maya. "It's happened before, right?"
"That guy didn't even look like me!" Phoenix grumbled.
"Anyhow," said Nicholas, "I've asked you to come here because of some... legal matters of mine." He chuckled to himself. "But you've already guessed, haven't you?"
"Wow!" Maya swooned. "He's so cool!"
"Maya, your definition of cool is a bit skewed," Phoenix said.
"Like I said, I need your help, Mr. Wright," said Nicholas. "I was accused of murder yesterday, and now they have me in this grimy cell. Don't you know the pain and oppression I feel in here?"
"Seeing as you're talking about it so much, I guess I do," said Phoenix.
"Now, I'd like to propose something," said Nicholas. "I'd like to propose that you defend me in the court of law. Do you agree, Mr. Wright?"
"... I guess so," said Phoenix. "I don't really have a choice, do I?"
"That's the spirit, Nick!" said Maya.
"Good. May we cross paths in the future," said Nicholas, as he entered the questioning room.
...
"I guess that's it, then," said Phoenix. "Looks like we've got a new case."
"And I vote we start it with some investigation!" said Maya, happily.
"You're right," said Phoenix. "It's best we gather clues first." With that, Phoenix and Maya left the detention center, and headed to The Raven to look for clues.
