Some of the earliest game shots showed Edgeworth and Gumshoe in an alley, which was significant if only because the game map looks similar to a map in GS4 showing the location of Phoenix's office. The creators said already that Phoenix is not going to have a big role in the game, but it certainly looks like a dead body right outisde his building!
Let me guess: Some cute girl was hitting on Phoenix, but unfortunately Pearl saw her do so. Pearl then bitch-slapped said girl to death (seeing as we know what Pearl can do when she's mad enough), outside the Wright and Co. Law Offices.
At least that's what I'd like it to turn out as...

I was just telling a jock because it WAS Phoenix in the suit in the Special Court 2008 video
anyway in this picture, Oldbag is on the other side of the pool so she can't be in the suit

I don't know...Franziska seems very 'done' with Manfred. When the judge asks her if they're related, she says it doesn't matter. I've always imagined she kind of considered him a failure after he went to jail and all, and therefore not to be associated with.
