)um... I got pretty much all my custom content (minus the magatamas, yutakas and maya's hair) at modthesims2.com
Yes custom painting are only available in Pets + because thats when they first released the function
And I think your asking how to put custom content in the game.. Just create a new folder in the SIMS 2 folder in EA GAMES in your Documents folder and name it Downloads and stick everything in there.
and I don't remember where I got that one picture per say.. sorry

Hmm that might be an idea for something I could do tomorrow since I won't be going to school. I'll have to track down all my meshes so it might take a while though. Which one's do you want?

So I'll start with the easiest:
Her hair can be found here

For her outfit I just used a base game tank top and a Nightlife black pair of pants. I might make another outfit for her later on.
Next up is
His hair is just an Open For Business Mesh. His outfit is a recolour of an outfit that comes with Apartment Life. It's here.
His scars can be found here

So finally
His outfit is a recolour of an outfit that came with Glamour Life stuff. It's here.

If you have any problems with the files or my recolour I'll try and help to the best of my abilities. If you don't have any of the expansion packs for the recolours I can try and hunt down base game compatibile meshes.
