- 99% of the content is extremely dated thanks to the internet.
- Reviews have become biased and uninformative.
- At least 2/5 of magazines are advertisements now. At least.
- Most of them have become unreasonably priced.
I stopped reading video game magazines (EGM, specifically was my last one) when I was looking through the reviews section and realized how every single review was a piece of shit that skipped important details and obsessed over pointless dribble. Many times you'd see people reviewing games from genres they clearly stated they didn't like, then ended up giving the game a bad review. All of the writers, for the previews and columns as well, were snarky in hopes of coming off sounding cool and entertaining.
Looking at any other gaming magazine outside of EGM just looked like vomit... EGM was sadly the best video game magazine out there, and even it had turned to shit.
Good riddance.

I'm gonna miss the Hsu and Chan comics on the back of every EGM issue.
