Hey I just need to ask you a few brief little questions in the interests of debate.

What was your opinion on Phoenix Wright?
Was he a horrible lawless bum?
OR
Was he a wise mature man?
Was he a good mentor?
Did you get the impression of Phoenix Wright having friends outside of Kristoph and Trucy and Apollo?

Please any opinion is important and valuable so just say whether you thought he was a good or bad person, mentor and whether you felt he had friends outside of the said people.

:garyuu: Thank you

I thought that Phoenix had turned...well, I don't know. He wasn't the same. I don't think he was a good mentor. Sure he helped once or twice, but that's about it. He might have had friends, but it's not likely. Ema would have stayed his friend if she had met him.

He's still a good guy deep down, but he's... jaded, I guess.
Spoiler:
Along with his career, his passion was effectively crushed after that trial. He knew, however, that there was something wrong with the system and something needed to be done. What else could have prompted that oh-so-cryptic line about a "dark time coming for their legal system"?

He could be a good mentor if he cut out that cryptic chessmaster jazz (although he does fit the bill so perfectly), not to mention that "naughty magician's trick" in 4-1. I would've punched Phoenix, too, if I were in Apollo's place.

He definitely has "wise and mature" potential, which I will most likely be polished in GS5. Or not.

As for friends, I'm not really sure. It could go either way for me.

...That's my opinion, anyway. :yuusaku:

You mean to say that you're asking for the opinions of people who have played AJ and none of the other games, yes? Just clarifying.

That works yeah sorry if I wasn't specific enough.

What I need is first impressions on Hobo phoenix without prior knowledge of his character.

omigawd, sorry. I interpreted your forum title as a way to weed out Hobo Haters who haven't played the game. :larry: *has played all games*

I'm gonna go hit my head against a wall now. :headbang:

Same here, except I had heard of Phoenix before, and I had also heard of his backstory in the other games, though only in a very vague concept.

The idea I got of him in AJ was: a person who pretends to be simple-minded and lazy, but in reality, has magnificent smarts.

When I first played AJ, I didn't think about it whether he had friends other than Kristoph and Trucy, but then I played the rest of the trilogy and went to the conclusion that he probably has more friends than Kristoph and Trucy; after all, just because you don't go shouting their names all the time, doesn't mean they aren't your friends. He probably had more friends but never mentioned them.
