Rygar would place a hand on Kory's shoulder, "Be at ease, my friend. Don't let this sudden change in personalities get to you," Would be the only thing he would say to him. He preferred it that way. It was short, simple... just about right.

"Hehehe, you are a crafty one," Rahfka said to Lydia. "But I am not one to give up." Rahfka then charged up. He was planning something. Then he released a huge wave at Lydia. It was so big, it would be very hard to jump over of go around.

"Hee hee~ Even if you don't give up, do you really think you can beat me?" Lydia laughed at Rahfka's words.

However, she was suddenly blasted back by the wave, which came as a total surprise to her. She screamed in shocked and was knocked back to the other side of the arena, hitting the ground hard.

"Ugh...so...that's how you want to play, is it?" She growled, getting to her feet.

"Fine...fine...I'm game~ But this next one's for all the marbles. Ready?" She asked Rahfka.

Shrum approached Kory with the sympathy and understanding his order was famous for. "Kory, you remind of a young man I once knew...very polite, caring, strong...the list goes on." Shrum looked at Kory with his fierce eyes staring into his very soul "He...always worried about others, often more than himself...we always told him 'I swear, if you don't take a break, WE are gonna be the death of you!'" He looked up in thought " He would just laugh and say 'If that is the case maybe YOUR the ones that need a break eh?!'" Shrum laughed as if the joke was new to him after all these years. "This man...he was the doctor who saved my life, and one of the only survivors of a terrible assassination attempt...you know why? He was smart. As much as he wanted to fight, he knew that if he died, it would do a lot more harm than good. He let go of his worries. He trusted us, we few fighters, to do what we had to do." Shrum took a deep breath, he always talked slowly, chose his words carefully. Never seemed to be in a rush to do anything. "The point is Kory, Lydia entered this tournament...she is a fighter, and a good one at that. I know you are worried about her staying in that form, but the Lydia you know and...well...have disputed and confusing feelings of affection in a grey area between friendship and romance.....is in there, and when this fight is over she'll be happy to be back." Shrum then gave Kory a joking punch in the arm "So stop moping, cheer her on!" Shrum then took a seat and whispered "not to mention if she wins she'll probably be so happy she will kiss you, and if she looses...well...someone is gonna hafta "Kiss it and make it better" If you catch my drift." Shrum leaned back and took a deep breath, he enjoyed his job because it was simple. "Protect, preach, and anything else inbetween!"

If Justice is blind, then Truth shall lead. Together they will find Liberty.

"I think it's time. Let the blood burn!" Was the voice now in Lydia's head. If she knew what he was talking about, she would know how her blood would boil for combat. As if she would have to force her limit to stretch itself.
"You have until your endurance runs out. Your blood won't cool until you either defeat him or are defeated. I'll be waiting outside."

Lydia gritted her teeth, but not opening her mouth so that Rahfka could see.

"I don't know who the hell you are, but quit bothering me! I told you, I don't NEED your help! UNDERSTAND?!" Her mind shrieked.

Then, she started doing several cartwheels and spins as Rahfka began to unleash attack after attack on her.

"Oops! Nearly got me there! Is that all you've got?" She taunted him, giggling.

Rahfka then tried thinking of what to do next. He was out of tricks. He tried a risky move of charging and releasing a huge wave at Lydia again. He did, and sent the huge wave, again, at Lydia.

Kory rubbed his arm as Shrum took a seat. Then, he made note of how he told kory that no matter what happened Lydia would kiss him, and he blushed scarlet.
"A-are you sure she'll want that from me?" he squeaked. Just then, Lydia gritted her teeth and Kory gasped once again. "I know she's a great fighter, but...I just don't like to see her hurt," he admitted.

"But remember, people come...and people go..." Shrum sounded quite different, his voice wasn't the usual half energy half slow philosophy it was. It was darker. "I hope you don't have to learn that the hard way...at least not soon..."

As he said that he seemed to drift off to somewhere between sleep, and meditation. He never visted the medical station, so he wasn't in great shape, and Shrum never was one to sleep often, so he was in a very deep sleep.

Hubris was not as concerned with Orochi as he had been before, but he still kept an eye on him from time to time. He had yet to see anything go on with the fight that seemed unusu-- scratch that, even more unusual than the present.

As things reached their climax, he wondered how long till his match, and what they would do when they saw him go at full tilt.

((On that note, has anybody seen the person playing the next round's tier 2 guy?))

Kory thought about what Shrum said about the metaphorical kiss that he kind of hoped wasn't metaphorical after all. He had no clue how to cheer the "new" Lydia on. She wasn't the timid girl he knew anymore. He vowed to himself that he would cheer whenever she landed a hit from then on, even if he didn't like who she was fighting. After all, he would like it if she cheered for him...

The last part made Kory start to feel even more nervous. Would he lose Lydia? Would she...it took a lot of effort to complete the thought...Die? He winced, then thought about it. Surely Shrum didn't mean she would...Die...just that after the tournament was over, chances were they'd have to go their separate ways. At least, that's what Kory hoped as he watched the match continue.

Lydia giggled as Rahfka unleashed a large energy wave at her.

"Same tricks don't work twice, silly~"

With that, she flipped over the first wave, a graceful arc, and then placed a hand on the ground as she approached it from the air. When it touched the arena bottom, she propelled herself up over the second wave, smiling at Rahfka as she appeared over it.

"Time to finish this. Frozen Prison!"

Instantly, Rahfka's feet were surrounded by ice, which latched onto him and suddenly began to come up to his ankles...

Kory was about to flinch yet again, but then he remembered the vow he had made to himself just a little bit ago. Although he didn't want to see Rahfka hurt and the new Lydia acting so...cold-hearted, he let himself stand up and scream, "GO LYDIA!!!" before he sat back down, feeling slightly embarrassed.

Orochi could already tell one thing. Lydia was going to win. Smiling to himself, he came back to watch the match.
"Give him a frozen foot, and you have him disabled. Better hope he can't recover."
Standing at the doorways leading to the spectator seats, he merely watched, eyes focused on the victor.

"Good shot! I'll have to remember that trick." Hubris said, turning his eyes to the seat where he had been eying Orochi. It was still there, but it's former occupant was not. "Ah! Eh... I might as well give him a break..."

Finishing his thoughts without speaking, he kept on where his voice stopped. 'I mean, he's not the first person with I've met with glow-y eyes, and that could mean anything, even be a habit... I dunno why I got so worked up over it...' He thought to himself. No proof of any trickery, no reason to be so paranoid.

He folded a sheet of paper from the dollar store note-pad he had been using before into an airplane shape and tossed it casually, agitating some person in the seat in front of him.

Rahfka was at the mercy of Lydia. He tripped and fell down, his face hit his dirt. Rahfka could not break free. The ice then consumed his entire legs section. With no way to get up, Rahfka was helpless. Lydia charged at Rahfka, untill Rahfka yelled "WAIT!!!" Lydia stopped in her tracks and looked at Rahka. "... You win," He said as the ice got to his arms. Rahfka was very skilled, but was not powerful, he had no way of breaking free. "Please release me from this... this Ice prison." The ice got to his neck. He would be an ice sculpture soon.

Kory waited nervously for Lydia to respond. She wouldn't let Rahfka...Die, would she? If she would, she was no longer Lydia in Kory's eyes.

Lydia smiled as the ice slowly continued to encase Rahfka, like a statue. Oh, how she loved to see the terror and begging in his voice...once the ice had reached his chin, she snapped her fingers, and the ice suddenly cracked, freeing him.

"You're no fun~" She giggled.

She then turned away and headed back to the waiting area for fighters. However, her eyes didn't move away from the person she was staring at.

Once she had reached him, she continued to stare at him, like a five year old child who seemed rather perplexed. She even touched his cheek with her hand, brushing it.

Then, she kissed him.

Rahfka wondered what kind of magic that was. "What kind of magic was that," he wondered to himself. Then he got up, brushed himself off, and left the arena. He would then go back up to the stands to see the rest of the matches.

"Huh?" Rahfka wasn't really paying much attention. "Oh yes, definately. But you know, winning isn't the only thing that matters. Sometimes losing is more fun that winning," he said to Hubris. Then Rahfka started to pay more attention to the wierd person. "Say, what do they call you around here?"

"Well, now they call me W. Hubris, seeing as I needed to fill in a first name on the signup sheet." He said with a grin, running a hand through his messy hair-- or at least trying to. "Later, I just go by Hubris, although before that, I went by something else. I am hopefully going to remember my real name at some point in time."

Hubris had actually been waiting for a question like Rahfka's. It was perfect for letting the paradoxes of time travel cause even more confusion, and if at all, he was glad he got to play around at least once.

With the match ended, it was time for the next battle to begin... Komugi would grab the mic, "Alright ladies and gentlemen!! It's time for--"

She didn't get very far... suddenly, the mic was snatched up right from her hand by a man who had suddenly arrived next to her. To her shock, she couldn't believe he was awake already...

It was a man with dirty-silver hair who was in a dusty red-trim and black trenchcoat with hood... brown pants, black boots, and a red bandanna around his neck. He also had a brace on his right arm... no one knew that it contained a power within.

The man would grin at Komugi, before speaking into the mic, "What, surprised to see me?"

Komugi then snatched the mic right back out of her hand, "Excuse me!! This is mine!" She then spoke into the mic, "Ahem... everyone. This is our special guest of the tournament. The man who will face the final opponent near the end! He has come from a long ways to find a worthy opponent."

"Actually, I came here for the money," The man said, scratching his nose, "Because a certain bitch made me come."

"Whatever," Komugi then said... she grumbled, too... if only Orochi hadn't destroyed the entity underground... this guy could have created enough fuel to bring him here... "Let's give it up for... what was your name again?"

"Gene..."

"GEEEEENE!"

"Hmph," Gene then smirked and folded his arms, "Psh. Whoever wins better be entertaining. I've been itching for a real fight! But it's mostly for the money. I'm flat broke..."

Komugi then sneered at Gene before turning back to the mic, "Now with him introduced, let's get on with the next fight! It's Kory against Minjuaeh, right now!! You two, come on down to the ring and get started!"

"Heh. Gene, huh? Better hope I don't toast you to the bone, kiddo. Speaking of kids, I think I better visit the Icy one." Hands in pockets, he went to the place where the fighters waited.
"Congratulations on your victory, miss Lydia. I trust you are quite ready to hear what I've to say... considering I could set you ablaze right now." Was the message sent to her mind. He continued it for better measure.
"Depending on how well you handle it, we'll discuss this when everyone around you is now gone. I am on my way to meet up with you. Do not move from your position."

Gene observed Orochi for a moment... he could feel his aura. It was enormous. Heh... maybe this will be interesting after all. He came here thinking everyone was going to be all talk... this guy looked like he could back it up.

"Better hope I don't beat you down to pulpy bits..." Gene then said with a smirk.

Kory was startled by the sudden kiss. It felt really awkward for him as he tried to think of what to do next, but the only problem was that he couldn't think right then. He heard someone call his name and he had no clue why they were...Then, he remembered that he was fighting next. He gently lifted Lydia off of him.
"Sorry, but I have to go. My round's next," Kory said apologetically. He took a longing look at Lydia before he walked over to the arena.

Minny snapped out of her deep sleep just as her first or last match was going to begin. "Agg... WHAT?! How did I fall asleep?!". She then looked around and realized she should be getting down to the ring to get the fight started. "Damnit damnit damnit ....!" Minjuaeh kept saying under her breath as she dodged through the crowd to get to the ring.

Shrum was still meditating, he could feel the emotions of those around him, confusion, longing, pride...and then Gene. The sudden over confident aura took him by surprise and he awoke.

"Who the bloody hell...oh Kory...I see you got your "prize"...and Lydia won her match." Shrum yawned and stood "Some arrogant asshole came, and you're about to fight Minny...hmm...I'm not sure if you will need this but...
Shrum reached into his robe and pulled out a small silver trinket. It appeared to be a cross. After some strange German and Latin incantation he handed it to Kory. "Hold on to this for me. It is filled with the wisdom of my order. Consider yourself an honourary member...I'll be rootin' for ya." He walked over to Kory and whispered "If worst comes to worst, hold it up to your heart. Recall your love, your hatred, your passion. Any strong emotion...and throw it. Throw it as hard as you fucking can, you will know when you throw it...but remember the following....you can only use it once...and never call your feelings of fear...they could very well kill you..." In a much happier tone "So good luck and stuff my new brother in light!"

"Thanks, Shrum," Kory said nervously. He promised himself he wouldn't use that cross unless there was absolutely no other way for him to survive, which was doubtful. Kory smiled as he pocketed it. After all, it was always great to have support.

Rygar would then walk in to greet Kory as well... he would wave a hand in a friendly gesture to him, to get his attention.

"You have my support as well, my friend," he then said, "I am looking forward to seeing how well you do in this one. Perhaps this opponent will be much more of a match for you than the man in pink."
