Oh man D: If it were a bit later in the year I don't think that would be so bad, but considering that we now have an entire year (give or take) to wait!? Ugh...I know I'm going to spoil myself on CR.

Syouta Matsuda

I love "Gyakuten Saiban" series.
Therefore I feel very glad that it was appointed as image character of this game.
I want to have differed from the current "Gyakuten Saiban" series, and to send the charm of quite new "Gyakuten Kenji" to everybody.
Please expect it.

I feel like a broken record, but with the final release date, I can make it more certain. Janet Hsu said it takes 6 months to localise the game. Possibly it will be out by early or mid December, in hopeful thinking that is. It the localisation team hurries and gets their heartset on a Christmas release, it just might happen!

Let's do some mathematics, shall we ? ^^
Hum... if I'm correct, that would mean the game is due to be released on November 28th.
Of course, that will undoubtly not be the case, but it gives us some clues to when the game might be out. It would be early december, if the translation team starts to work straight away, and does not wait 2 months after the game is released in Japan...

But maybe they will start working on it as soon as the development is over. Since the game's development won't go on until May, the 27th at 11.59PM (they will probably stop it a few weeks before the actual release), we can hope the translation team starts translating it as soon as possible after that. *pray fervently*

Ah, I think I misexplained: "localization" was not including the time it takes for them to decide on names and for advertising and the likes. It takes 6 months to translate. That's why I'm expecting a January release. Unfortunately, I think I may have to avoid court-records while waiting for the game. I'm afraid of spoilers too much. :(

Indeed, I'm facing the same problem. My overlap between discovering CR and Apollo Justice's US release was quite brief, and as it had already been released in Japan for ages, the excitement had died down. Thus, I was easily able to avoid being spoiled.

But it will be a sad day indeed come May 28 when I'll have to avoid the Prosecutor's Lobby. Wondering for months what tantalizing secrets lie within... I wonder how I'll be able to control myself to resist the temptation.

It will be... an interesting challenge. :javado:

I got my copy at the convenience store this morning before I went to school. :edgy: But, I went to Akihabara after school and they had tons of copies everywhere. So, it's good to know that it's plentiful!

Perhaps. But now we'll also have to avoid the "spoiler sprites" sections and avoid GK profiles, and the spoiler smilies. :( It'll be difficult. I'll have to go on some sort of CR detox...

For me it's a neverending cycle: My goal is to read Japanese detective literature, and I read Japanese detective manga / watch detective drama / play Gyakuten Saiban as study material. So I read Japanese detectives to read Japanese detectives ~_~

Thank you and your Japanese is veeeeeeeeery gooooooood!!!

いやいやいや、とんでもない。

Thanks for the scans! I wasn't that much interested in Rou yesterday, but seeing those scans somehow did get me psyched! Just as long he doesn't turn out to be the final criminal... :~3

Now I want to know what's in the special edition XD Having bought all previous special editions, so I'm pretty "obliged" to buy this one too (let's hope it's not too hard to get when I'm in Japan!)

When GK comes out, it'll be treated just like AJ was in terms of spoilers: all profiles guarded for spoilers, a separate page for spoiler and non-spoiler sprites, a tight leash on spoilers outside the Prosecutor Lobby etc. I want people to still be able to come to CR without risk of being spoiled left and right (especially since it's coming out smack in the middle of the OC contest), but at the same time the content has to be readily accessible. It's a tricky balance but with the gap between releases there's not much else we can do.

I'm not sure if there is an direct answer to this question, but I figure it can't hurt to ask: How much time was between the Japanese release date announcement of GS4 and the announcement that GS4 would be localized for the American market? I'm just wondering if there is an estimated time of when we will hear news about this game for an English speaking audience (and eventually a European one as well.)

I really admire your spoiler policy, Croik. I'm just worried I won't be able to resists for the many months it's going to be. :( :(

Actually, Edgeworth has prosecuted in 5 countries by the time of 3-5, so it could be one of those!

I don't remember that from the game, but it's been a while since I've played that case.

For Edgeworth to have jurisdiction in any country he would probably have to be currently employed by that country's District Attorney's office (in whatever county, city, or jurisdiction the crime takes place in.) The same thing for Gumshoe. He could help investigate, but he woudln't be able to make any arrests without another detective from the jurisdiction present to make it. Of course this is the Ace Attorney universe where cross examining parrots is allowed, and a prosecutor can whip a Judge without getting in trouble.

The new guy has roughed up brown Phoenix hair, and the woman I think looks albino.

Honestly if she's an albino, that's even more cool, and she's one damn sexy albino at that!

No no, you didn't misexplain it, I just forgot about what you mention in your post. I came to realize it last evening, before going to bed... ;__;
I thought : yeah, but even if they managed to translate it before Christmas, there is no way everything else, like advertisement, packaging, etc... would be done in such a short amount of time.
So I realized that only a miracle (?) would bring us GK before Christmas of this year...

I don't know why, I really doubt the game will be released in January... I'd rather say something like March. (Well, most of the games which didn't make it for Christmas in Europe usually end up being released in March... at least for very big games xD So maybe it will be the case for the US ^^)

And I just realized something else... then, since GK will undoubtly be released in 2010, that would mean I will have both GK and Half Life ² Episode Three (and maybe the new Zelda on Wii) the same year... I'm afraid my heart would fail me xDD

I'm not too crazy for the whole animal-themed look again, though Rou is a lot better than Takita/ Wocky. The screens showing off the logic mode look interesting enough too.
