I got this game (Knights of the Old Republic 2) ages ago after hearing it was some kinda legendary game, yet after installing it it won't start beyond the autorun and it won't tell me why either, only that windows is working on it, did anyone have this problem and ideally bypass it?

Stupid Question: Have you downloaded any patches, or are they not allowing you to do that?

I have little experience with this sort of thing, but I thought I'd ask the stupid question :edgy:

Hehe I thought my question was stupid too, but no I've just installed it and it's not working...maybe I'll try a massive quality lowering but other than that I guess it's just a condition of me laptop not being able to handle it.

No patches are nessasery. I completed the game without downloading any patches. Due to the fact that the game is completely offline and i do not see the point of wasting time downloading fixes to extremely rare crashes.

Do you mean when you try to play the game by just inserting the disk, nothing happens? Try clicking on the desktop icon and clicking on "game". Or go to My Computer, right click on the disk and choose "autoplay".

Yes, it is a legendary game. Most people say it's one of the best RPGs. But i would classify it as a electronic Star Wars D&D. Due to the fact, that, some abilities require "rolls" and duel wielding weapons gives you a -2 attack penalty or something. (Unless you upgrade the feat "Duel Wield")

No patches ARE necessary. At least in this case, I believe. Their is a known issue with KotOR 1&2 on Vista. If Herr Blondie isn't running Vista, I still think I know what the problem is.

Oh, on Vista? alot of older games just don't work on Vista. (e.g Splinter Cell Chaos Theory)

Nevermind people it's all good now :redd:

Oddly enough it seems it...was...just....screwing me around.

One time I went to go start it and it just worked :yuusaku:

After repeated attempts it seems nine times outta ten it don't start but when it does...

Boy it's an awesome game :garyuu:

if only handmaiden could wield lightsabers :sadshoe:

she's so awesome.

Problem is I like most of the cast it's hard to decide who I'd like in my party....also I screwed up Atton, I ain't sure what I want him to be so he's just some weird half-half combat-ranged guy who really isn't particularly good anywhere.

HERR BLONDIE. YOUR WRONG

Handmaidan CAN wield a lightsaber, most of the party can.
Most of the party can become Jedis, when given enough influence (e.g if you keep doing nice stuff infront of Bar-Dor, he'll say stuff like "You did the right thing, general) look it up on GameFAQs.

I have Atton and Bar-dor as my team. ALL JEDISSSSSSSSSSSS KAPOW

KOTOR2 is crap, it could've been a great game, but suffers due way too much bugs and unfinished content.

D: GAME IS PAWNAGE. DUN U LISTEN TO THEM. It's a little carp at the start, especially getting stuck with Atton but it gets better. Ya you have to be really good or really bad.

Also some fights are really unfair... (beating up 10 grunts that are attacking you all at once? No thank you.)
