All right, good, DeMatador. Seeing how you have your own topic now, I'll post over there when it comes to your sprite coding.

So will I. I'm working through Case 1 fairly quickly; expect to see a Damion Shard demo soon. Probably.

"Grand Theft Turnabout" XD

Anyway, you could really use your own logo. Do you happen to have a sprite of Damion (custom), so I can make a logo for you?

Wait, 2 judges in one case?

Yes, it takes place chronologically before Case 1. The defendant in that case is a man named Rockster Ganes.

DeMatador wrote:

Judge Akshent appears in a brief flashback to another case. That case happens to be... well, Grand Theft Turnabout.

Not much, really, but a while ago I made a few edits to Phoenix to make him more fitting of the character I want him to portray.
Spoiler:

Damion Shard has blue eyes, and his primary color is red. Tie is a dark blue. Not much else, really.

Well, DeMatador's already working on Kudo, says it'll be done soon. And for both characters, I've made one or two of the animations, but far from complete, for use in the case. In other words, the case itself is pretty much done.

Wow, congratulations, YggdrasilsSword! That was way fast! I'm downloading it no-67 MB?!? :O

Anyway, I'm doing my best with Kudo, all animations complete, I'm actually fixing timings and trying to locate the forever elusive seed throwing sfx. Hey, can somebody cut it from the .mp3 file in the TaT Bonus Disc with Character SFX? If they need it, I can provide the .mp3 and then convert it to .wav.

Also, Kudo's .zip may include a surprise.

The only thing I noticed was that some texts pass way beyond their lines.
I could try enabling AIGE 0.9.800a's (as i'm testing with pwlib 1.2) automatic line breaking, but some lines would cause a 4th one to pop up.

Downloading now! :D Now if I were just a RS premium user so I could get a better d/l rate :( Excitement building!

Oh, and for the record, KSA_Tech, I've always been interested in PWLib. I've just been waiting for you to finish Shinku and more characters to be made, etc. I'm far too casual about playing with casemakers to use PWLib as it is now. I get intimidated when I see posts containing 100 lines of code just to get a character's animations ready to be used. I know there's people out there working on it, but frankly I'm too lazy to be useful to the development of it. I'll give it a try when 1.2 and Shinku come out and PWLib Unleashed is available :)

I know, I was just pulling a leg there.

And I could release 1.2 as is now without Shinku (after finishing some fixes and updates) since Shinku is pretty much an easier set of commands (that is totally optional), but I decided to do it since I promised (and I want to do a decent demo script with Mio as the host). Making PWLib 1.2 look something really outstanding and remarkable will really make me satisfied, since I always did talk about it been professional and such.

And YggdrasilsSword: yes, many lines pass the borders of the box. I may post some shots later.

Playing the demo, gonna type my thoughts here as I play. Thus, this post will be very random. I'll just throw thoughts out there as they occur to me.

- Wow, PWLib indeed has an awesome presentation. Very professional. Might I suggest to all to use the "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution" option under the "Compatibility" tab in the AIGE.exe properties(Atleast that's what it is in Windows Vista, I'm pretty sure there's something similar in XP) ... makes the window much bigger on the screen, probably takes up about 65-70% of the screen.
- Dig the intro. You fit the "feel" of the opening song selection pretty well :D I wasn't sure I liked the intro music at first, but you won me over with your presentation. Nice.
- LMAO at "Joe the Plumber" reference, "Taco Dell," "Totali Didet," etc. Little punny touches like these are awesome.
- I love how all your character's personalities fit their sprites' characters. Makes it a little less weird that these are OC's in real AA characters' bodies.
- LMAO at extended flashback that suddenly ends with Spun's testimony. I'm liking your comedic style.
- Loving the political satire, too. "'Wait for the Crippled Kid' Act," lol
- Difficulty matched perfect for a "first case." Pretty easy. I accidentally picked the wrong answer in the epilogue about what wasn't explained(lol brain fart), but that was my one mess-up. Found all contradictions on first try. Good length for a first case, too- there's enough character development and story that it didn't just feel like a tutorial.

All in all, this case was very enjoyable to play through. It was well-written and engaging, with minimal typos, grammatical errors, etc. In terms of feel, game mechanics, the way the story is told, and even little details like the menu animations, this really feels just like playing the real thing. Hats off to Yggdrasil for his great writing and scripting on this fancase, and also KSA for PWLib's very authentic, professional feel. I can't wait to play more :D

:larry: Well, sometimes PWLib freezes unpredictably. Did this when I first played the Trials of Life demo, to my annoyance.

Well, glad you liked it. (By the way, checking the court record during that flashback can be quite interesting.)

PWLib before 1.1 used AIGE exes that had a major flaw: the sound system could easily kill the engine. That explains the sudden deaths on those versions.
1.1 uses Audiere, that is way more reliable and robust.

On PWLib 1.1+, it hardly really crashes (100% are scripting mistakes). If 1.1 is crashing and the script is right (I tested the demo's code and no locks), maybe it is something related to the MP3 Coded that is installed or something around it.

Sometimes it do stale: it is when AIGE is loading some needed texture and the video card takes longer to accept it for whatever reason. But it resumes to normal after on. Bubbles does so at times. It happens to all game engines out there.

Also the demo looks a lot better on 1.2 (questions with answers aligned and correct frame for example).

The only thing I noticed was that some texts pass way beyond their lines.
I could try enabling AIGE 0.9.800a's (as i'm testing with pwlib 1.2) automatic line breaking, but some lines would cause a 4th one to pop up.

Ah, you know what, I probably didn't have PWfont when testing, hence the discrepancies.

*EDIT* Installed the PW font. Now going back and fixing text line breaks.
*EDIT 2* Whoa nelly! It would appear that quite a few lines go slightly past the text box, but can easily be fixed. Hm... that probably threw off the simulated centering also.

FYI. www.fileden.com is a much better filehost. No waiting time. 1gb hosting size. 5gb bandwidth (monthly). Free.
