みなさん、こんにちは。
「逆転検事」プロデューサーの江城（えしろ）です。
今日からしばらくのあいだ、開発現場の波乱万丈な日常（？）について、
チームメンバーの悲鳴…いやいや、アツいメッセージと共に、
最新情報なんかも交えながら発信して行きたいと思いますので、
よろしくお付き合いください。

Hello, everybody.
This is the producer of Gyakuten Kenji, Eshiro.
Because I'll be planning for a while from today on to tell about the stormy everyday (?) at the scene of development, mixing in the newest information and such together with the screams of the team members... no no, together with hotblooded messages, please stick around.

The new detective's profile is in the same part of the website that Edgeworth's, Gumshoe's, Mikumo's, and Franziska's profiles are so this seems to suggest that he and his assistant are not just one shot characters.

Great music. It sounds a bit more refine/elegant compared to the Gyakuten Saiban music :3

という訳で、記念すべき第１回目は、「逆転検事」誕生について、
少しお話しようと思います。
I speak "Gyakuten Kenji" birth to the article on the 1st that should be commemorated a little.

ディレクター時代、｢鬼武者２｣や「シャドウ・オブ・ローマ」といった、
ガチのアクションゲームをメインで制作していた僕なのですが、
実は学生時代からアドベンチャーゲームは大好きで、
推理ものやホラーものなど、様々なアドベンチャーゲームをプレイしてたりしまして、
当然逆転裁判シリーズも全てやり込んでいたのですね。
I was chiefly producing the action game such as "Onimusya 2" and "SHADOW OF ROME" as a director.
But I love adventure game, and have been playing various adventure games of the mystery adventure game and the horror adventure game, etc. since the school days.
Naturally, I am playing all Gyakuten Saiban series.

そんな僕が、プロデューサーになってから担当した、
NINTENDO DS用「逆転裁判３ Best Price!」の制作が終了し、
次は何を作ろうかな～と物思いにふけっていた頃、
ひょんな事から山﨑ディレクターと出会いました。
ご存知の方もいらっしゃると思いますが、
彼は「逆転裁判　蘇る逆転」と「逆転裁判４」に企画マンとして参加しており、
逆転裁判シリーズの大ファンでもあります。
When the production of "Gyakuten Saiban 3 Best Price!" that I was in charge of since I became a producer was finished and thought what game I would make next, I met Yamazaki director.
He is a person in charge of the project of "Gyakuten Saiban Yomigaeru Gyakuten" and "Gyakuten Saiban 4", and big fan of Gyakuten Saiban series.

「これは、何かの縁に違いない…。」
"This must be fate."

そう感じた僕は、
I thought in this way.

「逆転裁判シリーズの世界観で、何か新しい遊びを作らないか？」
You use the world of Gyakuten Saiban and do not make any new play?

と、彼に打診してみました。
I sounded him out.

そんな僕のムチャ振りに、

「面白そうですね！是非やりましょう！！」

二つ返事で快諾してくれた山﨑ディレクター。
He willingly consented to my absurd suggestion.
"It seems to be interesting"! Let's do it! "

いや～、ホント無鉄砲…いやいや、男気溢れる返答に、感激しました。
I was impressed by his reckless...no, chivalrous answer.

そして、連日のミーティングが始まったのでした。
“舞台を法廷から現場へ移す”というコンセプトは早くから決まったのですが、
それからが大変。
The meeting of every day started.
The concept to "move the stage from the court to the scene" was decided early, but the meeting from it was severe.

“現場での矛盾を探すって、どういう事なの？”
“ミニキャラを登場させて、ユーザーが操作できたら面白いんじゃない？”
“おっと、逆転シリーズといえばアツいカケヒキだよね。
どうやって表現する？”etc…
"Does it mean that what kind of to look for contradiction of the case spot?"
"Is the mini character made to appear, and if the user can operate it, it not interesting?"

ここには書ききれないほど、実に様々な議論が繰り返され、
「逆転検事」の企画草案は産声を上げました。
と、少し長くなってしまったので、僕からのお話はこの辺で。
The project draft of "Gyakuten Kenji" was completed discussed very a variety of being repeated so that it was not possible to write here.
My story ends by this because the talk has become long a little.

次回は、「逆転検事」の生みの親、山﨑ディレクターに登場して貰いましょう。
彼の「逆転検事」へのアツい思いや、
プロデューサーへのクロい思いなんかも飛び出すと思うので、

下の画像は、キャラクターデザイナーの岩元さんから、
新年早々年賀状かわりに
逆転検事チームへ送って頂いたイラスト色紙です。
昨年の東京ゲームショウで、特別法廷に登壇した３名が描かれているのですが、
なんというか…僕のキャラクター（左上）は、ふつうに極悪人です。
これからも、色々な所でこの３名のキャラクターが登場すると思いますので、
生暖かく見守ってやってください。
　（というか、すでに一部の印刷物に登場したりしてますが…。）
A lower photograph is the image which has been sent to Gyakuten Kenji team in substitution for a New Year's card in the beginning of the New Year by Iwamoto of a character designer.
Three people who appeared in the special court at the Tokyo game show of the last year are drawn, but I see my picture (the upper left) to an accomplished villain.
Please support them warmly from now on because these three characters are going to appear in various places.

こちらのブログで、何度かお会いすることになるかと思います。

江城プロデューサー（以下、江城Ｐ）に出会い、
「逆転検事」の開発が動き始めてから
早×ヶ月の月日が流れました‥‥。
今でも、ときどき開発当初のことを思い出します。
X months passed since I met Eshiro producer, and the development of Gyakuten Kenji began...
I remember an event of the time when development sometimes began.

江城Pが、ガシッとボクの肩をつかんで言いました。
Eshiro producer caught my shoulder and said.

「逆転裁判シリーズの世界観で、何か新しい遊びを作らないか？」
"You use the world of Gyakuten Saiban and do not make any new play?"

前回のブログで紹介されていた岩元さんのイラストからも分かるように、
江城Pはけっこうな“コワモテ”をしています。
‥‥ここだけのハナシですが、最初に江城Pの顔を見たとき、
僕の頭に浮かんだのは「極悪人」「殺し屋」というイメージでした。
He is a slightly scary face as he understands it from Iwamoto's picture carried by the last blog.
...When I watched his face first, I had the impression of "an accomplished villain" and "the killer" toward him.

つかまれた僕の肩に、江城Pのツメが食い込んでいました。
“ヒトゴロシの目”が、僕を見ています。
心底ふるえあがったボクは、気付いたら必要以上にはげしく、
クビをタテに振っていました。
His nail cut into my shoulder.
"Eyes of the murder" watch me.
When I noticed, I who was frightened waved a neck intensely lengthwise.

「面白そうですね！　是非やりましょう！！」
"It seems to be interesting"! Let's do it! "

まさに、“ヘビにニラまれたカエル”。
もとい“ミツルギにニラまれたイトノコ”といったところでしょうか‥‥。
"A frog stared at by a snake." (*Proverb of Japan. = "Like a deer in headlights.")
No, "Gumshoe stared at by Edgeworth"...

モチロン、この申し出を受けたのは、
ただ江城Pの目が怖かったからだけではありません。
「逆転裁判シリーズの世界観で新しいゲームを作る」
それは、とても魅力的な誘いでもあったのです。
Of course the reason why I received this proposal is not that his eyes were only fearful.
"A new game is made by using the world of Gyakuten Saiban series."
It was the invitation that was very attractive for me.

僕が「逆転裁判」シリーズに出会ったのは、
カプコンに入社する前のことでした。
僕は、その魅力的なストーリーとキャラクターたちに、
夢中になりました。
カプコン入社後、「蘇る逆転」「逆転裁判４」の開発に関わってきて、
今回、御剣を主人公に新しいゲームを作れる幸運にめぐり逢ったのです。
検事局きっての天才検事・御剣怜侍。
彼の魅力を引き出せる、
「御剣が主人公ならではのゲームを作ってみたい！」
そう思って、江城Pの提案に飛び乗ったのでした。
It was about the past to enter Capcom that I came across "Gyakuten Saiban" series.
I became crazy about the attractive story and characters.
After entering Capcom, I was concerned with development of "Yomigaeru Gyakuten" and "Gyakuten Saiban 4".
And I rotated in good luck to be able to make a new game to assume Edgeworth a chief character this time.
Genius public prosecutor of the public prosecutors' office - Miles Edgeworth.
I want to make a game to describe his charm in!
I thought in this way and agreed to Eshiro's suggestion.

逆転検事には、３つの大きな特徴があります。
１つめ‥‥舞台が、法廷から現場へ移ったこと。
２つめ‥‥ミニキャラを使った新たな演出。
この２つは、企画の早い段階から出ていました
There are three big characteristics in Gyakuten Kenji.
1...Move the stage from the court to the scene.
2...New production that uses mini characters.
These two ideas were decided from the early stage of the plan.

しかし‥‥それだけでは何かが足りませんでした。
「逆転検事」を１本のゲームとして成立させるには、
あと1つ何かの要素が必要だったのです。
この“あと1つ”が生まれるのには、長い時間がかかりました‥‥。
But... something was insufficient only in these.
An element of more one something was necessary to let Gyakuten Kenji form as one game.
Long time hung till this "more one something" was born...

「犯人とのはげしいカーチェイスを入れてみたらどうよ？」
「イトノコが持ち前の腕力で助けてくれる、イトノコボタンを用意したら？」
「Ａボタンで、ジャンプできるようにしたらどうっすかね？」
"How about the intense car chase with the criminal?"
"How about 'Gumshoe button' which he helps with physical strength?"
"How if it is made to jump when A button is pushed?"

迷走に迷走を重ね、数々のアイデアが生まれては消えて行きました。
ときには、何のゲームを作っているのかよく分からなくなるときもありました。
そんなときに、江城Pが優しく声をかけてくれたのです。
We strayed. Many ideas were born and disappeared.
We did not occasionally understand what game we were making sometimes.
Wshiro said gently at such time.

「自分の作りたかったものを思い出してみい。
初心に返って、コンセプトを見つめなおすんや」
"Remember the game which you wanted to make.
Stare at your original intention."

このとき、僕は江城Pのスルドイまなざしの奥に、
純粋な“親ゴコロ”を見たのです。
僕は、確信しました。
このヒトは、顔はヒールだが心はベビーフェイスである‥‥と。
I watched pure parental affection in his sharp eyes then.
I was convinced.
His face is a bad person, but he has the heart of the baby.

江城Pの言葉のおかげで、
もう一度初心に立ち返って考えることができました。
Thanks to his advice, we returned to the original intention once again and were able to think.

「御剣が主人公ならではのゲームとは？」
「御剣ならば、どんな推理をするだろうか？」
"What is the game with the need that Edgeworth is the leading role?"
"What reasoning does he do?"

そして、さらに悩みぬいた末に生まれたのが、
３つめの特徴‥‥新システム“ロジック”でした。
これは、御剣の“論理的な推理”をゲーム化したものです。
彼のロジカルな推理方法を追体験してもらえるような内容になっています。
「逆転検事」では、この“ロジック”システムで、
みなさんに御剣になりきって推理をしていただければと思っています。
We were troubled more. And we hit on "Logic" system which was the third third feature.
This is the system which converted his logical inference into a game.
You can relive the method of reasoning him by using this system.
You will infer it like him by using this system.

現在、開発は最大のヤマ場を迎えています。
この写真は、修羅場まっただなかの僕の仕事机の様子です。
パーテイションの向こうから、
等身大のあのお方がじっとこちらをニラんでいます。
“ミツルギにニラまれたヤマザキ”
‥‥給与査定を下げられてしまわないように、がんばります。
The development reaches the greatest climax now.
This photograph is a state of my work table.

担当されています。
僕も、以前から岩元さんのファンの１人です。
今回、岩元さんには“頼れる用心棒のセンセイ”として
チームに参加していただいたといっていいでしょう。
ブログの記事も、切れ味するどい内容を期待しております。
He is in charge of a design in Gyakuten Saiban series.
I am always his fan.
I think that I had the development team participate as a teacher to be able to depend on him this time.

That would be so awesome! XD Or just a "talk" option with Gumshoe would be nice too, similar to the party talk in Dragon Quest, or the smoke/think option in 神宮寺三郎/Jake Hunter.

でしょ！　”Please treat me well”や"Please treat me favorably"などの翻訳を見たことがあるが、英語ではちょっと変だと思う。翻訳の試験のとき私もいつもどう翻訳すればいい分からないね。

I searched, but there was the person who said that there was not 「どうぞよろしくお願いします」 for English.
Unique greetings in Japan? Umm.

「逆転検事」アートディレクターの岩元です。
プロデューサーとディレクターのブログが2人とも
「みなさん、こんにちは」 で始まっていたので、揃えてみました。
Hello, everybody.
This is the art directer of Gyakuten Kenji, Iwamoto.
I also kept the same because producer and director's blogs were "Hello, everybody." and it started.

エシロ＆ヤマザキが文章、イワモトが4コマ、の予定だったんですが
二人のブログのボリュームを見てたら、
「4コマだけじゃ、もたないぞ・・」 ってなりまして。
ボクも軽くお話しするスペースをもらいました。
絵描きからの視点で「逆転検事」制作現場をぶった切っていこうと思います。
Eshiro and Yamazaki write a sentence, and I draw a comic... It was such a plan.
But I watched the quantity of the sentence of their blog and thought that I was unsatisfactory only in comic.
So I decided to talk a little.
From a viewpoint as the designer, I criticize a development team keenly.
