You're beating a dead horse there, P_A, but I do admit that this place, while not boring by any means, isn't as fun or exciting as it used to be. This is coming from someone who's been here less than a year. XD

Hopefully when GK comes out this place will start really kickin' again and we can bring in a bright new "era" for CR. :D

I agree; once GK comes rolling around, this place will probably be piping with excitement.

And I think some people on here (not everyone; just a few that I don't even know) need to be a little open to new opportunities :odoroki: ; yes, our old friends are gone. But we meet new people every day; let's let them feel welcomed. :phoenix: I mean, how would you feel if you were new to the boards and you find a very tight-knit group that are friends with each other, and because you're part of a new population of n00bs and spammers, you aren't welcomed? :larry:
In fact, that's pretty much how I felt at the BBC. Because of the less tight-knit groups, Present Testimony people and the Defense Lobby was a more comfortable place for me than at the BBC :sadshoe: I'm not saying it was a bad place; it was a great place to meet new faces. But if we focus so much on our losses we aren't welcoming the new, wonderful people who could come.

P_A, this wasn't directed at you, since you reiterated what you were trying to say and the above issue wasn't really the problem. The above "rant" was more towards the people who might be lamenting about the old forums.
P_A, I think Croik has a point; why don't we make the excitement rise? Let's give some ideas if we want change! :edgy:

I think CR would be cooler if we took some concepts from Resident Evil and applied it to our lovely forum

In order to get into each forum, you need to solve frequently changing, randomized puzzles or collect "items" (partial URLs) from the main site and then combine them in order to get into the posting screen.

I think it would really bring the forum together

I've seen enough of these discussions on other forums to know that they are pretty much stupid.

Sweet motherboard.

What the hell happened during my three month absence? This place has turned into a regular cosfu of dolts.

And I'm talking about old -and- new members.

*shrugs* I was only interested in coming back due to my re-interest of the series after deciding to cosplay again.

And also, not cool Ing.

Yeah right.

Especially when someone pulls out a gun.

On topic. The only time i was on the BBC was on the old forums, while this one was still down. It wasn't bad. I was never in the maffia though (even though someone thought i was).

I guess I'll also go onto hiatus once I post the cosplay pictures from this coming Sakuracon....

A good rule of thumb is to live under the overarching mantra that the internet is not a super-serious place.

Acting like it is will only lead to a lot of pointless arguments, people being bitchy and butt-hurt (like two posts above), and general e-drama that is gay and annoying.

Have serious discussions, but don't act like you are arguing and screaming at your best friends.

So stop crying.

As for the rest, I think P_A is still being overly critical. You just mentioned "threads like Sympathy for Darke" being left by the wayside but that thread is only a few days old and I've seen it consistently on the first page of the Defense Lobby. There is still intelligent discussion going on around the board but it's not always easy to find just because there are so many topics in general. But I'm not about to tell people they can't have simpler topics like the character threads because too much limitation and there won't be anything to talk about (especially in the break between games).

It's easy enough to say, "There should be more interesting topics!" but nothing is stopping you from creating those topics. Are you expecting the admin team to come up with every attention-holding discussion? Even if we do clamp down on every half-frivolous topic that does not mean meaningful ones will suddenly appear. Someone has to make them.

I fully support people creating fan projects, and if you come up ideas I would be glad to promote them. But it's not like there aren't certain projects already. Why not join in on a casemaker project? Not all of the work involved there is artistic, they also need editors and coders. You don't need to be a good artist to learn code. :yuusaku:

I probably am being a bit over critical about it, and yeah, Sympathy for Darke is pretty recent, but I thought it might not be right if I repeated the Edgeworth's Mom one. Another good thread that needed more attention was about character names (actually, it needs to be stickied, in my opinion), and to be frank, I think my topic about alternate 1-5 case names was pretty good too. I thought it was creative and not really a "what if" question. Oh, similar topics are fine, but I'm talking about repeat topics. I don't really like those.

If I could think of more interesting topics to talk about, I would post them faster than Shakespeare could write a play, but I can't at the moment. But that's not the point. I'm talking about actually having a thread having consistency of the old "Damon Gant Can Do It All!" threads, and the Old Designated Cast Topic (which seems to have been deleted, thank GOD), both of which were frequented often. Sure, you might say that some can't be driven that far, but I'd like to see less topics drop off mid-subject, and I can't really go around saving every thread myself.

As for casemakers, the only thing I could be is a script editor due to my computer. I'd be open to do it though, as long as I don't get a flood of them. >_>;

But you keep turning what I say back on me. Why don't I do what I suggest? Well, I would if I had the brilliance and ideas to do so. But I don't often. That's why I ask for help from the community. If I had the brains, I would do it. It's not that I'm just telling people what to do with out doing myself, I don't have the brains, I'm sorry to say.

As for the apparent 9/11 controversey, yeah, it was bad. But we don't really need to keep bringing how it hurt everyone now do we? It was a comic, either laugh or ignore it. The fact that they show the videos annually on that day is just horrible enough.

ok then...back to the topic :P

I myself have seen problems like the fact that many fan projects never reach the light of day due to little to no help while a small few get help everywhere...now dont get me wrong many of those do deserve the attention they get and i do hope to see them when there complete but as a result many other projects get slowly destroyed now why am i saying this and stuff...because ive seen many projects thats sond good enevitably die...how to solve the problem you ask...chances are it probable that there isnt but i did have a thought...a simple thred that a people who would like to help on projects and such could be listed with both a name and talents...take me for example

Cold52 (experianced in):Spriting, Drawling, Ideas

and people could post requesting help for what they need...i dont know maybe some variation on this idea

ow and also i realize that people can add need help or whatnot...but that doesnt usually help many people and the idea was to be able to get people to help one another and its not like you are forced on the list you probably would just say that youd like to help people and bam...your name on the list with the skills you have and such :P

well then if i somehow got offtopic in this post i apologise but since the thred is called what it is i thought i should mention this and for those who read this thank you. :godot:

Funny how you say it, when you've been here longer than me. :yuusaku:

Still, that isn't how it's supposed to go. It's just supposed to be a thread about improving CR to what it really used to be. And if that's how you imagine it in your post, I can see it too. The spam is still annoying. I'm normally all for hijacking threads, but that has it's limits, especially when this is an actual serious topic.

And I will kill anyone who dares post a pic depicting serious business, I swear.... :lana:

Joining the sprinkling of n00bies in saying I know what it's like watching your shit change and not liking the way it is now 'cause it's never gonna be the way it used to. The internet dies and fandoms grow and people join late, and there're some things that just can't stay the same when a place has so many people passing through (referencing your concern on repeat topics here, for one thing).

Everyone left: Heh omg we rele show'd dose spammers roflrofl. Now we can have teh serious forum games where we say 'I win' in each post, and take gant jokes too far cos we can't make up our own fads.
*Mafia overloads like piece of crap it is, BBC gets closed*
Everyone left: O_o What happened to teh BBC? Dis place sucks now, even though we caused it.
*P_A complains*

JA? Guten.

And PUHLEASE will all the 2008 joiners stop saying that it isn't like the good times when they joined, because thats like saying that the weather now isn't like it was in the good old autumn. Sure it wasn't AS cold or rainy, but it's still shit compared to Summer. 2007 was the really good times, and if you'd been here for that you'd really know how much this place has changed.

All you "old" people are acting like you weren't the ones making dumb topics when you were new. Or even now. All your high-horsing doesn't really amount to anything.

Of course we try to lock down ridiculous topics, but the forum has been around for 3 years now. With no new games out discussions are going to get repeated. If a new person shows up and wants to talk about 1-4 I'm not going to make them hunt back to 2007 for a topic about it (which no one likes to see happen anyway).

Anyway this topic has become pretty pointless. If you have specific ideas about projects you would like CR to help you promote, by all means PM me.
