Here the real topic which i accidently started in the interrogation room so feel free to as any questions or comments for MGS and once alot of people join this and talk i will tell people about the idea of a new snake and who it is (disclaimer:all idea/theories made by GreyKnight117 are not 100% do not think all ideas for the upcoming MGS4 will be true but other MGS game facts are most likely true or pretty damn close :godot: )

I have a feeling that "Old Snake" is Big Boss. After all, MGS1 coulda easily been resolved if they handed over Big Boss's remains, and Campbell acted all weird when you ask him as such.

Oh man, don't even get me started on this. Old Snake is not Big Boss. It's impossible. In every single way.

Old Snake is our Snake, and that's all there is to it.

I'm more interested in everything Ocelot anyways.

ooohh nice idea but didnt they say he died it the original metal gear well i guess ill say what i think now i believe the "old snake" is Solid Snake and the new snake is either a clone again or my new idea is in Metal Gear Solid 2 Solid snake sas how he was gonna find Olgas son and mabye train him and Olga's so is the new snake because in the latest trailer theres a statue of two people and one is a guy in the snake camo suit and he get out of stealth and it looks like a younger version of snake

we dont know what happens to Olga's kid so maybe he may appear in MGS4 and just so everyone knows the only reason why liquid snake can ive through Ocelots arm is because Ocelot is the son of The Boss and The Sorrow so he inheirited his fathers "medium" power and allows Liquid to manifest within him but at first its weak so only at moments when OCelot is with snake liquid can appear but it gets stronger allowing liquid to take over completly

I recommend reading that before starting any actually serious discussions. Metal Gear Solid is a series with a lot, and I mean a lot, of subtle hints and many of the story concepts don't get across until you have a few play-throughs.

thats why i had the disclaimer :P and i was right about Ocelot and that website is a little old Kojima said he would put it on the 360 a year after the PS3 release with new bonus gameplay and activities kinda like how kojima put MGS2:substance on the x-box although he should put subsistence on the x-box aswell for its online play more people play x-box live than the PS2 online

Doesn't mean he doesn't screw with his fans. Nobody knew you'd be playing nearly all of Metal Gear Solid 2 as Raiden. They even went so far as to show scenes in the game where you play as Raiden but put Snake in them.

Own all 3, never finished the original (got stuck after the second sniper wolf battle). I really like the game but I never got around to finishing it.

I really enjoy the series, but I could never beat any of the games. I am not too good with Stealth games.

well dont feel too bad not many people are and Kojima was first criticized for making a stealth game back then when more war games focused on army shooters but his series is still popular

Anywhoo, I really didn't think Raiden was all that bad, until I played MGS2, that is. MGS was my original obsession before Phoenix Wright, and I still love it.

Raiden isn't that bad. What I hated about him was the people he worked with - especially Rosemary! ARGH. She never did tell me what the day after tomorrow was! (Or maybe she did, and it was buried in the cutsenes...)

Ah. Metal Gear Solid is actually really, really easy once you realize how easy it is. It just takes some time on the game.

For some reason, owning it helps. Before I bought my own copy of MGS, I couldn't do jack on it.

It is the 20th anniversary of the Metal Gear franchise and Japan is getting a COLLECTION of re-releases of Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops and the very first Metal gear. (Came out for the MSX system in the 1980's)

I have to say that the package is very nice. (I don't know about the instruction manuals for MGS 1, 2, and 3 if they are included in the set...)

Is it necessary to play each game in succession (i.e. MGS --> MGS2 --> MGS3 --> MGS4) or can they be played out of order?

That's a tough question...IF you can take the challenge to play the very first Metal Gear, then Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, and (If you own a Playstation 3) then Metal Gear Solid 4 for last.

That way, the story can go easily well to the conclusion of the last Metal gear game.

It's impossible to enjoy Metal Gear Solid II without having played the first Metal Gear Solid.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is based entirely around the first game. It will barely remind you of anything (if at all) along the way and will constantly reference events and characters.

You would be completely lost.

If you mean impossible to enjoy, MGS2 suffers from what I like to call 'Spy Thriller Jargon Syndrome' in which so much bizarre, barely feasible stuff is tossed at the player in an attempt to build suspense and political intrigue and it kinda...doesn't.

It's still a decent play, at least.

MGS3 is much better though.

Does that mean I'm not alone in saying that I didn't really enjoy Metal Gear Solid 2? Because to be honest, very little actually ended up happening in the plot, as the last ten minutes basically negate everything you learned to "lol, forget that, this is the real story". Not to mention I got tired quickly of having to go in circles around the plant.

MGS3 is more than a much better play. It saved the series for me.
