Damn, this old bitty ain't that bad.... ((ya, I know she isn't that old, Val's just mean xP)) & where have I heard that nonesence catchphrase before?
"Well, Danke for your help." She gently put the knife into a bag.

"De rein." Kali replied, showing off her French skills. "Don't forget to prsent that in court~!" she called as she walked out the door, followed by Apollo.

"Hate French." She grumbled as they left the room.

She grabbed the bottle of wine & continued with her previous investigation.

"Well Apollo," Kali said as she unlocked her bike, "I guess we better talk to the defendant now."

"You can do that." He replied, "I have other things to do."

"Loser." She replied. "Haha, Just kidding. I'll see you later then!" she got on her bike and rode twoards the detention center.

He paused for a moment after she got in, slamming the door shut behind her. Then he shook his head with a small smile and handed her the manilla envelope before lightly depressing the gas pedal. The car's engine gave a slight purr as it slid forward, cutting through the water like a hot knife through butter.

"We've got a case, if you couldn't tell," he said simply, knowing that too much conversation tended to aggravate her mood further when she was irritated. "The suspect claims to be innocent, like most of them do, but his alibi is about as fragile as a piece of china in a rhinoceros' house."

He shook his head slowly as he drove, smirking at her. "If you let Erikk get under your skin like that so easily, you're only letting him win, you know." The words were meant to cut through her hurt pride and flare her anger, leading her to break out of her mood sooner. He found it much easier to calm her down than to cheer her up when she was saddened.

"Besides, knowing him, he'll do whatever he can in order to be the prosecutor for the case once he realizes that you're the lawyer. Good chance to stick it back in his face, yeah?"
