Seriously, what 'system' is there to speak of in the first game? I think the Magatama was a great innovation, and I didn't mind that it was brought back briefly in AJ. It's the only tangible link to Phoenix's past, which is really sad, to be honest.Quizer

The one that didn't involve losing all your life in one chance (have no idea why they thought a life bar was better) and the one that didn't involve psyche locks and all that garbage to just make the game more tedious.

Huh, guess someone didn't like the innovations of the new games. I thought the life bar was a cool idea. I don't think the few times where you get large penalties are that much of a problem, especially if you remember to save frequently, which should be common sense. At other times, you only lose a smaller amount of life than the standard 20%.Also, why do you think psyche locks make the game more tedious?

Because you are penalized for every mistake (and if you make lots of them getting all that life back is hard) compared to pw 1 where you present evidence simply and if it's wrong they just say some random shit with no penalty
And I love innovation/ I love how in pw 1 in the last case you could examine fingerprints, look at the evidence in a 3d perspective, I love how they brought that great system from that case into pw 4 and revamped it, adding a few more features.
But psyche locks are bullshit because not only do you lose life when making mistakes in court, but in the freaking investigation too.
The perceive system didn't seem that interesting. In fact, I found it sad that instead of using evidence and facts you have to look if someone gets nervous at certain parts when he talks and point it out, I mean do lawyers really do this to win their cases?

It's a video game.
They attempted to add new gimmicks aside from the Magatama to freshen up the GS game play, and it fell somewhat flat. I am somewhat glad that they put in the Magatama/bracelet, since I always felt that (up until case five) Phoenix Wright AA was a bit too easy. (That and not being able to present profiles in either AA or AJ somewhat cut your possibilities down...)
