I don't listen to a lot of Japanese music because I'm unfamiliar with most of the artists - I know of UVERworld because I liked the Bleach theme, and I know of Bonnie Pink because of the theme from Tales of Vesperia. :D
Selom: Intelligence isn't simply your academic performance in school; intelligence encompasses a huge range of things. Some geniuses don't even do that well in school but they certainly excel at other things.
Remember: Poor test scores, while important to consider, do not mean you're automatically a stupid person.
My best friend is dyslexic and therefore, cannot take "normal" classes and also cannot do as well on exams as other people. However, she's probably one of the most intelligent people I know and I have an insane amount of respect for her for striving to channel her strengths into dance, choregraphy, and skating. She accepts that she cannot become a "normal" student and she's struggled for years about calling herself "stupid", etc., but that doesn't mean she has to stop trying to become something (she already is!). :)
I had to give her months of counseling to get her out of that "calling herself stupid" stage (while she helped me deal with my self-esteem issues as well). I succeeded with helping her, for the most part.
Anyway, this advice goes to anyone who thinks along these lines.

And now I'm sick for the first time in four months.
(I have to admit, staying healthy for that long is a huge accomplishment for me, considering I get sick so much; also, considering I was surrounded by so many sick people in that amount of time). So, now, I'm splitting hairs trying to do the creative things I like

I'll tell you about my recurring dream - I always dream that I'm taking high school classes and I'm enrolled in AP Physics but manage to never remember to go to class until halfway through the semester it hits me - "Oh my god, I forgot to go to AP Physics for like the past three weeks!!" x___x; It's a horrible experience, and every time I wake up I have to shake myself and remember that I'm not actually enrolled in AP Physics.
I'm doing great :) I'm overwhelmed with work right now, but I'm prioritizing.

I was hoping to run something by you; if you can't do this, it's perfectly okay.
Other than making Remnants on CR, I am also a simfile creator for the Stepmania; a DDR simulator for the PC. While making Remnants, I have to set aside time to make songs for Stepmania.
Just like the real DDR, Stepmania shows the player a banner for the song they have selected. My part in the Stepmania group is to make anime songs for the game.
What I am asking is, I need banners made for the songs I'm making. Usually I make the songs in packs of 15 every few months(it takes a looooong time to make one song). If you could help with making even some of the banners, I would be very, very grateful.

Yeah, my schedule can get really crazy so I'm thinking I could get maybe 4-5 done per month, sometimes more depending on the variability of my schedule. If this project spreads over 4 months then it works out well.
When you get everything in order, send me a PM with everything typed in an organized manner (i.e. each banner's info like text, color scheme, image.. just like how you have been posting your requests).

Thanks. I'm glad to hear you got into your top choice grad school, that's awesome. Today's the last day of my spring break, and, of course, I got sick earlier in the week because my body's pretty burned out after my finals week (three essays and three very intensive lit tests...man there are times I regret being an english/Medieval studies major). Other than that though, I'm doing alright. I went home over break (just came back on Friday) and so that was cool because I pretty much had to do nothing except a few things around the house. So I basically sat around and watched TV and played my gamecube, and the former reminded me why I don't have a TV in my apartment; I mainly ended up watching crappy movies on AMC and Seinfeld reruns...
I got most of the courses I wanted for this coming quarter, though I do have to crash one of my Medieval Studies courses on Tuesday. it's a pre req, and it's pretty large, so I'm just hoping I can get into a section without it being one that I have to get up at 6 AM to get to. Overall, I'm hoping this quarter is less intensive so I can be on CR more...I missed everyone here.
Anyways, hope your break is awesome, even if you do have papers and research projects to get a leg up on.

Aww, thankies~ Have fun at your con too! I'd love to go to an anime/video game con but I'm really the only generation of my family that lives in our state that actually would go with me. On the other hand even the older generations of my family grew up with pinball, especially my dad, who gave us the green light to go. At the con we're going to (we SHOULD be, unless something comes up for that weekend) you just pay to get in and all the machines are 100% free play. They sell machines, backglasses, and plastics too. I dunno how many other teenagers are gonna be there, but if they're there I'll just sit back and talk pinball over a nice cup of Joe. I hope Godot Blend #107 isn't too hard to come by down there...

Hey, I know you're getting a bunch of orders, so put this in the back (it's a wallpaper, sorry :( ). But I just found this pretty picture from a game/manga that I know a bit about, but have never played/read myself. It's Fate Stay Night, so I'm sure someone on here has seen it before.
Type: Wallpaper, sized normal desktop screen (I forget, it's like 10-something by 768? I can't remember but whatever the normal size is, that's the one)
Picture: Hehe, just one
Text: It's a poem I really like. Please copy as it is (the way the text is lined up), but the author's name at the bottom can be anywhere. Look at Color and Text descriptions for what the bolded and iltalics mean and also colors.
Spoiler: I read this for class once XD
For entire poem, please have a pretty but readable font (something like viner hand, fine hand, monotype corsiva, pristina, etc. doesn't have to be one of those, but something like those). And let it be slightly faded, but readable in the background.
Basically, have the bold parts be a bigger size and different color (different font is totally up to you; see what looks best). The italics just need to be different color, not different size or font (shouldn't stick out as much as bold parts.)
Color: For entire wallpaper, I'd like it to fit theme of night sky/sunset/twilight, so as if the wallpaper was a continuation of the sky in the background. I'd like the picture to meld into the wallpaper like it's a part of it, if you catch my drift. The farther edges of the background can have colors from the girls kimonoes come into it, if it pleases you.
For the fonts: bolded portions need to be two different, "contrasting" colors (ie red and blue), but needs to match the picture. I'd like them to stick out, but not awkwardly. For italics, please have them be a lighter/different shade from the bolded parts. So, one bolded phrase would be red while an italics phrase would be pink or a lighter red, etc. I colored the ones that line up.
Extras: Um, I think this needs minimal brushes added (I think) only because I'd like it to stay the consistency of a night sky/twilight/whatever. So, if any stuff, please have it be faded whisps, maybe, or celestial objects (lol) that are faded. Any brushwork, please be faded, but I'll totally trust your judgment on this :D
Placing: Lol, I added this. Anyhow, I'll trust your judgement, but I'd like the pic more in the middle, but towards the left, and I'd like the poem to be more right-centric (so, either right-middle or far right). No special effects need to be on the poem as far as how it's shaped, but if you have ideas, don't be afraid to experiment! Just remember that I can't have anything on the very far left (where icons are).

Ohh, is your family going to the pinball con with you? Now that would be super awesome and a great idea for spending time with the family! :) The con sounds like it'll be really fun.
My friend from college has a relative that works in the gaming industry, so he said he may be able to get us connections, but who knows if that's even possible since only "qualified industry professionals" are allowed in. I'm not currently aware of the controversy (about reopening it to the general public, etc.), so I don't know if they'll reopen.
If not, my friends plan on going to Comicon for next year or some other major con. :D As for me, it doesn't matter; I love cons in general.
Caelestis: Your request post is megalong (not a bad thing, just saying), so when I start your request, if I run into problems I'll PM you or note them in this thread. :)
I also PM'ed you about confirming your desktop size - I'm sorry if it's a hassle, but I want the desktop to properly fit your screen without stretching. Stretching often makes everything look very weird and lower quality >__>;
Oh, and no need to apologize about the wallpaper. I really like making wallpapers, especially since it's really awesome to see my wallpapers on people's personal desktops :BB Oddly enough, I'm not using one of my wallpapers because I just can't narrow down a particular theme I would like for myself. I love so many different types of themes, characters, video games... *__*

Yeah, the fam's going with me too. My sister doesn't want to, but she's outnumbered 3:1.
I don't have a lot of friends to go with, and even if I invited them they'd be like "wth? pinball?!" All the video game cons are too far away. Considering that I live in the middle of nowhere and can't even get my PERMIT for another 5 months (god i hate being the runt) that makes it just a liiiiitle bit hard to go places.
Regarding E3, many articles written online and in magazines say it won't last long because of the limitation of guests, that it wasn't what it used to be, that it's more uptight because of the limitation of guests, etc. and I agree. Hopefully if people moan and groan enough maybe E3 will get the picture.

The nearest anime/vg/etc. con is actually on my college campus :B Yup, there's a annual sci-fi convention right on my campus. However, this year, for some reason (perhaps with funding or building issues), it's off-campus but in the future I hope they bring it back. It's so convenient for students living on-campus and everything is within walking distance. <3
I've said this before, but it's so awesome to go to where classes are normally held (lecture halls, classrooms) and have a panel discussion about "geeky" topics. I once went to one of my classrooms where the English voice actor for Winry (FMA) was teaching us origami! She was so incredibly nice and sweet. :) I gave her some of my cute fluffy sheep decorative origami paper as a gift.
My friends and I make an annual trip to Otakon, which is about five hours away from where we live (it's in Baltimore, MD; we live in New York). It's so worth it, even though I get car sick from long car trips. This time I'll try to remember to bring some medication with me, though. ^^;
I used to go to Anime Boston in New Jersey (so about an hour away) but it was kinda lame how it was all in one warehouse-like building (called the convention center) and the dealer's room, etc. were all separated by flimsy-like dividers. So, basically, you could hear everything that was going on in the next "room"/space. It gets annoying >__>;
There's also not enough space or fun activities in my opinion... I prefer large attendance counts (Otakon is probably the largest convention on the East coast so yeah..). Small cons have their benefits, though, so I'm not saying AB is too horrible; probably not worth the price since I can only go for one day (Saturday).
