It's been a while but now I'm able to make a quick post...

How have you been Vicki?

I so envy you! You have the chance to go to the Otakon but in my case I'm just able to go to the Chilean AnimeExpo at the University of Santiago of Chile (or USACH) in October or some other variations in other universities but that's the biggest one and to be honest it's quite good they even show movies or new animes in the projections room that is usually used as the planetary (is that word right?)

Just to tell another story: I'm really angry that I won't be able to go to KISS's concert tomorrow.
I was so excited when I knew from this but the money and time weren't at my side this time I hope I can hear it in the radio... :sadshoe:
I just hope the band lives long enough for another concert in Chile.

Have you had a great kickass concert of one of your favorite bands and because of any reason you can't go? It's so frustrating.

It was good to write to you again people, and vicki of course.

Hope to see you soon.

Best Wishes

Gray Godot

Thanks. It was, is and always will be a pleasure.

Hey, Vicki. Sorry I haven't replied to your post yet. Thank you for sharing that information about the lies that can be spread to unsuspecting women. We have a Crisis pregnancy center in our town and I know one of my friends went there for help. I'm not sure what they told her though.

yuzikichan: The ones I saw didn't do that, so that's interesting to hear. XD

trombone: You're welcome; I PM'ed you instructions on how to use IMG tags, so hopefully they can be of some assistance. :)

Gray Godot: I'm great, thanks for asking. I have spring break next week and I'm so excited!! I've been working so hard for the past week, with hardly any time to myself except for maybe an hour or two at night. I wrote a thirty page paper within the past two weeks and I'm still not done T___T;;

Over the spring break, I still have a lot of work to do but at least I won't have to wake up so early for my internship. :3 I'm also looking forward to see some of my friends who also have spring break.

Your con doesn't sound bad at all - you're lucky to even have a fairly-sized con that you can attend, as many people don't have that opportunity. :) Yeah, Otakon also has anime showings; I don't usually go because honestly, I can watch anime at home if I want. I'm not spending time to sit in a room and watch anime all day when I'm paying to attend the con. There's SO many more fun things to do than that. If it's a new anime or an anime that I have been interested in for awhile, I may go to watch an episode or two, but that's the limit for me. Besides, there's only Friday, Saturday, and half of Sunday to be at the con - need to make the most out of it!

I'm sorry that you can't attend the concert! I actually have never been to a concert before so I don't know what it feels like to be let down like that, but since I DO know the feeling of being let down in general, I offer my sympathies. :(

Hope things get better :)

Lunaria:
That's ok, it's perfectly understandable. No problem about the information -- I want people to be aware of these centers.
I'm going to try organizing an event on campus to warn fellow students about them. Knowledge is power!

They are absolutely perfect! Thank you so much again, Vicki, I appreciate the awesome things you always make for me;D

P.S.: Please finish the other projects first, but would I possibly be able to get any banners you make as you complete them? It'd be a great help because I'll finish a few songs at a time, and I'll submit them with a banner. Thanks so much again, Vicki!

That's how I always complete my larger projects (ex. the last Stepmania project I did for another forum member), so don't worry about that. I know that's the logical way to go about bigger projects that will span a few months ;D

Glad you like the banners :)

Oh, shoot. I forgot to send you two alternate versions of the sig (so three in total). They're not dramatically different, but they differ in brightness/contrast a smidge, so I figured I'd give you some more options, just in case!

Hey Vicky ^^
How have you been lately?
I just lurked around here but I didn't find much time to actually post something >__>
So I was just wondering if I could request a new sig.
Because now that it's spring and the summer is following, I thought it would be nice to have.. 'something brighter', if you know what I mean. :knock-knock:
(Oh and on a side note, I'm still loving the wallpaper you made for me :] It's nice to look at it everytime I turn my computer on)
I hope I don't annoy you with my requests or something, I don't want to be rude..

Spoiler:
Text: A smile says more than words
Image(s): Here
Any preferred size?: Um normal sig size I guess
Color scheme: Maybe something like orange, white and yellow , just colours that fit
Extras? (hearts, stars, swirls, etc.): Maybe some hearts and swirls ^__^ Whatever looks good

I'd be really happy if you'll my request again :]
I'm thankful for all the stuff you've made for me, just so you know, I don't want to ask too much of you

Sure thing to your request. Your wallpaper is probably the most popular one out of the bunch -- I get lots of hits for that particular one, haha.

Hi, Vicki! I'm soooo sorry for not replying in so long...the amount of posts was a little overwhelming and school was killing me softly with its homework and such. Sorry. D=

Anyways, I have a request. I'm also sorry for that...I'm only posting when I have a request, how awful is that...? Reject me if you have too much on your plate or anything ^^

So, here it is.
Spoiler: for the avatar
Text: Hero
Image(s): This.
Any preferred size?: 200x200.
Color scheme: I leave it up to you.
Extras? (hearts, stars, swirls, etc.): Your choice.

Spoiler: for the signature
Text: Your heart has a lack of color and we should've known
That we'd grow up sooner or later...
Image(s): This.
Any preferred size?: Pretty big, but no real specifics.
Color scheme: You choose.
Extras? (hearts, stars, swirls, etc.): Okay, so from the picture can you just have only the two characters? (Namely, remove them from the background.) Next to the one facing away with a green suit, could you put in small text "England" and next to the larger one with glasses, "America". (In case you haven't watched APH.) Other than that, I leave it to you.

Thanks so much and...I'm sorry again! :'D

Well, usually I don't have much to do, but .. now I do o__o
I always procrastinate on everything and I try not to, but I kinda fail everytime.

Now I have to do lots of work in vacation :lana:
Anyways, I'm trying to finish it first week so I still got one free week.
And then I could finally spend more time with my friends xD
They already feel neglected :yogi:

Biblio: That's okay, the stress of schoolwork is understandable. You don't have to feel obligated to reply to the gigantic posts since they do take time to reply to - just so you know. :) It's nice to hear how others are doing throughout the semester!

Sure thing to your request, of course.

Blinq: Sounds like a good plan. I'm trying to finish a significant amount of work so that I can have a more relaxed spring break towards the end of the week.

Most of my friends go to different colleges and therefore, have different spring breaks than I do. They had their week off in mid-March :/ However, I'm very happy that my boyfriend has the same spring break :) I haven't been able to visit him/see him in about two months because he goes to a college that's about six hours away. >o<;

I'm such a lazy person.

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you can see him now :)

Thanks so much for taking my request! =D

Just a quick update on how I'm doing:
Pretty well, actually. I had an especially bad week two weeks ago where I had a huge magazine project due for English and not enough work done for it...I ended up getting first one hour of sleep and then getting no sleep at all in order to finish it. I was so tired the day after that in my Geometry class first period I fell into a daze and drew faces on all the right triangles on my quiz...luckily, I snapped out of it in time to erase them and finish them all XD After that, things slowed down a bit more and I got a lot more sleep and was a lot happier. And now it's spring break, so I'm looking forward to that ^^ I also had two birthdays in my family this week-on Wednesday, my stepsister turned sixteen, and on Friday, my little brother turned thirteen. Now he has an excuse to act hormonal! My birthday is coming up too, in May...which is nice because it's my golden birthday this year C: I've been making loads of wallpapers lately. My dad and stepmom's birthday (they're on the same day) came and I made four computer wallpapers and three iPhone wallpapers for that, and then I made four wallpapers for my sister's birthday present. It's fun, though! I've also been working on making the logo for our camp tshirts this summer at the request of my mom. So.

Anyways, how are you? It's great that you get to see your boyfriend, by the way. I know lots of people who don't get to see their boyfriends when they're in college ('specially since a lot of the boyfriends are on missions XD) so I know it must be difficult...

(EDIT: Just so you know, I edited the picture in my request with a cleaned version to help facilitate the process. And like the others said, have a good spring break! Relax!)

aquajet: Sure! I've added you to the waitlist below.

blinq: Yes, it can be difficult. It just makes the days we're able to spend together that much more special :) I won't lie and say that I don't get at least a little upset when we have to say goodbye, though.

Oh, really? I'm sorry to hear that about your feelings towards your mother. Family issues can cause a lot of emotional investment.

Biblio: That sucks about the project - did you end up getting a good grade for those lost hours of sleep? o__x;
Happy birthday to your family members! :)
Oh, that's great to hear about your upcoming birthday. Yeah, I'm excited for graduation in May.
It's also nice to hear that about the wallpapers you've been making. :)
I've been busy with graphics as well, just as you have! I'm making graphics on a regular basis for clubs and my internship, in addition to this and the other thread.

I'm great.. really, no complaints here. It's nice to know that I've been working my butt of for these past four years of college and it's FINALLY paying off. >__>; Thank goodness.

Yes, I'm going to give him a big hug when I see him. :)
That's why I envy people who live in such close proximity to their significant others. I live an hour and a half away from my boyfriend (when we're both home) but it's still a hassle to drive to each other because we have to pass through the busy city area. I wish he just lived down the street or something! >|

Ok, sounds good about the pic.
Haha, thanks, I'll try my best to relax. Hard to relax sometimes when you have this mental tasklist in your head all the time. x__x;;

BC: Thank you, BC. :)
Argh, yes, I need to relax!

yuzikichan: Considering I don't have the funds to take a trip to Europe, I'm not sure that's the best idea right now, but perhaps in the future I'll go. :)
I want to go to Disney World as one of my first priorities for traveling/fun trips because I never went as a kid. I'm deprived >|

Haha, you're a sickness survivor. >:3
Yeah.. last semester I had laryngitis. It was freaking horrible! I never knew how much I could miss my own normal voice - I sounded absolutely awful, like some random sea monster or the Grudge. Normal sickness doesn't really phase me anymore.. then again, I haven't been sick (not counting car sickness) in awhile (*crosses fingers*).

Oh my jeez, I hate that! When EVERYONE around you is so depressed and/or so moody. People need to realize how their moods, actions, and behavior affect other people. No, I'm not saying that you need to lie and basically force yourself to be SUPERUBERHAPPY if you are coping with a tragedy or anything - you're entitled to feel sad if that happens. I'm mostly referring to people that get cranky so easily or never seem to smile because they have a 'tude. I am normally happy and enthusiastic (if it is appropriate for the situation), so it's interesting to see people feed off that energy. The energy transfer is really cool~ :)

Spoiler: Long ;)
Oh, I've had a small form of laryngitis; totally sucks! I had it during the beginning of a musical, too. I was only ensemble, so it wasn't super detrimental, but I'm a soprano, so it was not fun. What's super strange is that whenever I'm sick, my lower range is a lot worse than my upper range :yuusaku: really strange, but it's true.
Attitudes, oh gosh. I know what you mean. I don't necessarily make people "happier", I don't think (I guess I never really know), but I think I make them feel better because I'm more "sane". I'm saying this only because whenever I give in to their cranky attitudes and give into the temptation of saying why I'm in a situation like them, they get "angry" at me (in quotes because, they don't really get madder, they just complain more about why their situation is worse). So in order for me and them to stay sane, I have to stay sane. Luckily, I seem to be strangely capable, which really makes no sense. Also luckily, most of these people who have these problems will listen to me whenever I'm in a bad mood, so it isn't super bad.

I'll tell you what's strange: I can sweat small stuff wayyy too easily. I used to start crying when I was younger because I didn't have enough money for lunch; no lie. I get worked up over details sometimes too much. However, whenever everyone panics or the situation is serious, I'm the calmest person in the room. I think and react quicker when the situation is deemed "serious" or everybody panics.
My handwriting analysis of my handwriting angle says it correctly: I am a good person in emergencies because I can retain my emotional "cool" easily.

Anyhow, how've y'all been doing? :edgy:

yuzikichan: I was originally confused because I only have heard of Busch Gardens without the recently added "Europe" attached. It's quite misleading to have Europe as a part of the name when it's not actually located in Europe but rather, based on Europe XD;
I know of Busch Gardens as a major theme park. I've only been to Six Flags (theme park-wise), and it was a mediocre experience.
That being said, I have no plans to go to Virginia anytime soon, so that will also have to be held off for now~

Caelestis: I have to go in a bit so I'll reply more later to give your post more justice :D

EDIT: Changed the wording a little because it sounded eh o__o;

That's why I envy people who live in such close proximity to their significant others. I live an hour and a half away from my boyfriend (when we're both home) but it's still a hassle to drive to each other because we have to pass through the busy city area. I wish he just lived down the street or something! >|

Good. XD Yeah, I bet it is hard...it's great that you can maintain your relationship even though you aren't in close proximity a lot of the time ^^

Haha, thanks, I'll try my best to relax. Hard to relax sometimes when you have this mental tasklist in your head all the time. x__x;;

Okay. Yeah, I know the feeling...often I'll finally relax and then I'll think "You're worried about something...what was it again? Oh, ______." and I have to work hard to quash the thoughts...but. Still try, though.

Oh, really? I'm sorry to hear that about your feelings towards your mother. Family issues can cause a lot of emotional investment.

Hum yeah, well sometimes she thinks she has to take control over the things I do.
Just like she has got some odd hate against men and people from the internet o___o
And somehow she thinks I should too.
But I don't and it really seems to bother her :yogi:
It's pretty frustrating at times

Hey gang, just dropping in with a bit of an update. Firstly, I managed to make it through the first week and actually crash a class (victorian lit, blah, but I need the class and the units) and it's looking like my work load will be more forgiving than last Quarter, so I'm hoping this means that I can be on here more frequently,which would be completely awesome. ^.^

By crash do you mean enroll by showing up and begging the professor to let you in? I've done that before too.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Though the class i crashed, I had to show up to the discussion section and beg the TA to let me get in.

Wow, the TA's were checking to make sure whether or not people were in the class. We didn't have many TA's in our program. I think they mainly taught the lower level writing and literature classes, while the professors taught the junior and senior level.

The way it works for upper division english and history (I can't speak for any of the other departments, given those are the only two with classes my majors require me to take) is that the professor teaches the lectures and the specialized classes (like say...Chaucer or Sci Fi (which I totally took last quarter and it rocked so hard)) where the TAs take the discussion sections. It works out pretty well since most of the TAs are really enthusiastic about the material. They really only check if you're there the first two weeks of section though, miss one of those sections and they drop you automatically.

Caelestis:
Spoiler:
I had laryngitis the week before I had to do a really important 20 minute presentation! Argh! It always seems to come at such an inopportune time, but then again, what's a "good time" for sickness... >__>; That's interesting about your upper range. So, you sing? How awesome :D I used to sing in high school chorus as an alto, but as with many women, I like singing soprano.

"they just complain more about why their situation is worse"
Ahaha, yes. It becomes a contest to see WHO HAS SUFFERED THE MOST in everyday conversation. When I speak of my own experiences, my intent is to show the other person that I understand and that I can relate, but sometimes it may come off as some competition which is really not what I want to do >__< This hasn't happened at all recently, but it happened from time to time in high school.

Oh, it's like that Brian Regan skit about competing to say the best story at the dinner table or whatever. I'm not going to attempt to quote him because I have the tendency to mutilate quotes, but basically it's about how there was this jerk who walked on the moon, so whenever someone would brag about something, he would interject with, "WELL, I WALKED ON THE MOON!" which was like a trump card of victory. XD

I don't think crying in that situation is too strange, especially when you were younger. I tend to get a little overemotional about certain things in particular nowadays, but I've gradually learned to control that and retain a more rational, logical perspective on things. :] That's interesting.. I tend to get really stressed easily but I've never been in a real "panicky"-type of situation.

I've never analyzed my handwriting.. the style fluctuates way too often, haha.

papermario: Thanks :) I can't guarantee that I'll be able to give you tutorials and guidance and all that since I have quite a bit of work on my plate, but I can give you general advice or personal critique.

Biblio:
Spoiler:
Oh, oops. I assumed it was just a one class (~30 students) type of thing but I always forget that teachers usually have multiple classes, heheh.
Yes, I bought my cap and gown last week. It's exciting but also kind of nervewracking because it's like, OH WOW, I'M "STARTING REAL LIFE" AFTER MAY! Haha, it's not EXACTLY like that, but hopefully you get what I mean.
I'm going to grad school right after I graduate so technically I'll still be a student and therefore, compared to people who are going straight into the workforce, not going into the "real world" yet.

The RL graphics work isn't bad at all, it's very fun and it's awesome to see your work being used IRL, you know? I'm sure you feel the same way with the wallpapers that you've been making for relatives and such.

Long-distance relationships are very difficult, indeed. I had a five-year LDR previously, and it became absolutely awful (as in, this person is not who I thought they were...). We lived 12 hours apart -__-;
Luckily, my current, serious relationship is awesome so I'm not concerned with it becoming a horrible experience as only other relationship. We both communicate on AIM everyday and Skype as well, so this very frequent communication between the both of us really helps the LDR-aspect of our relationship.
(Sorry for the TL;DR, you can totally skip over this - I won't be offended at all, haha.)

Yes, let's try to crinkle that tasklist and throw it into our mental trashbin. I think I would go crazy, though.

Blinq: Hate against men and the internet? Hmm, some parts of the internet are quite scary and it may be wise to venture far away from them, but a hatred against the entire internet, even the miraculous wonders of Google.. that's questionable ^^; Same thing with men! These overarching generalizations are not good at all :(

Anyways, I hear ya. It sounds quite frustrating.. all parents tend to annoy us with one thing or another at some point(s) in our lives.

Jenna: Oh yaaaay! We'll be able to talk to you more! Good to know you'll be able to take a few breaths and relax some more.

On a sidenote: I've had a TA that actually asked a student in the class, halfway through the semester, what time the class started and ended. >__o;

Asaki: I strangely never received your PM because it said you deleted it before I got it ^^; But I'm very happy that you like it!

Burninator: I'm not sure if I'll have the time to make all four so I'll commit to making one of them for now, and we'll see how it goes after that. :)

Cool. Perhaps if you ever have time, you can teach me a few basics? All I would possibly need is how to erase a character's background and how to make some cool effects.

If not, it's okay too. I know how busy you are:D But I do hope sometime in the future I can learn;)

Thanks Vicki, I can't wait to see the banners!

I know, I realized i have considerable free time and first thought was "Yay! CR time!". :will:

Wow, that's....kind of scary given TA's handle all your grading, except in some cases the final.

But apparently my family is full fo stubborn people with their very own opinion. :zenitora:
And yeah sometimes I'm like that too.. o__O
When I believe in something it's hard to convince me I'm wrong.
Maybe because I don't listen to other people's opinion about what I do anymore.. :yuusaku:
