Those bookmarks were expensive! More so than the prizes last year. The manga you can buy anywhere anyway, so I figured I'd go with something not normally accessible to overseas fans. So buy the manga yourself and then put your bookmarks in it :D

If you entered a character in the contest last year, you cannot enter that same character again, even if it's in a different category.

We haven't had someone submit old and new versions of a character before, but I think that's acceptable. Likewise if someone wanted to do AA style and Kenji style sprites.

Darklord what program are you using to animate with?

Just a mention though, If you do choose to do "Kenji style sprites", don't use the resources from the demo.
They're JPEG, and therefore awfully pixelated.

I don't know if I'm applying, but I wanted to ask a question.

I apologize gravely if this was answered and I didn't see it, but say you're submitting a fanfic and it's focusing on... two characters a opposed to one. One is a male defense attorney, and the other is his younger sister, a spirit channeler. Both are characterized and special to the story and such in their own ways. However, if I was doing this, I don't think I could submit "both of them" in one contest entry, so should I just choose one to submit, and add the other character as a side person important to the story?

Long-winded and confusing question, sorry.

Eh, I'm thinking about applying a fanfic, perhaps, but I doubt my writing abilities would have a chance... :yuusaku:

And can I just say that this is the first contest whose writing limit is within my ranges? :edgy: I can be sooo long-winded, lol

It's all right if the fic has more than one original character in it, but you can only enter one. You can then include mentions of his sister in the background section of the bio.

Well I was using Microsoft Gif Animator (not very good I don't recommend it) but I've started using GIMP and ran into a new problem. What type of file should I save it as to be able to upload it to an upload site and do I even have to upload it to a site to enter?

I think you can send it via mail to Croik.
Save it as a .png, and it will be fine. GIMP's own format .xcf is great for editing the pic later, but if you're done, save it as a .png.

If it's animated it'll have to be a .gif. You don't have to upload it anyway you can just attach it to the email.

In the unlikely event of me winning, the prizes CAN be shipped as far as New Zealand, right? I mean... I think it'd just be nice to win, but bookmarks are cool too :)

OK, this is probably a no, but... say you've made new sprites of the character you entered. would it then be possible to send the new ones, stating that these are to be added to the original one?

(i really should have waited a bit before i entered :uramidn: ...)

It's okayyyyyyyyyy, but only send them once you're absolutely sure you're finished. I don't want to keep receiving and forwarding new sprites from now until May. Makes things complicated.

If I draw a character digitally, is it counted under Sprite or Fanart? And does it need to be fully coloured?

Well it depends. Are you making sprites? Is it something that would look at home in the AA games, or is it a composition?

Not sure what you mean by "fully colored"

Hey I have a question,

Fanfiction is allowed right? but the problem is that my fanfic contains some adult material. How can I then post it here (where its banned)?

Only fanfictions that are PS-13 and under are allowed (aka making out is okay but graphic sex is not).

is that what an original character is

what about Phonics Wright and Mina Fay, my OCs, phonics has white pointy hair and a best friend named Karry Butz and is kind of a sarcastic bumbling goof, but every woman he meets falls madly in love with him

he's phoenix's secret brother btw

Well, I won't be making sprites, heck, I'm not sure I'd even join this competition, but I will once I get a good idea so might as well get questions off my mind first. And by 'fully coloured', I mean, will it need to be coloured? Or can I just get the inking/outlines done and call it a day? :P

Use whatever name you want to be revealed once the entrants are revealed. It's fine just to use your forum name (you only have to give me your real name if you win, so I can send you the prize)

well im assuming its ok...i mean if an oc can be just a edited pw sprite then im sure the official art can count...but just in case i suggest editing the official art to look like more of an original character eduds

You can certainly use the official art for parts of the sprite, much like how you would splice sprites. But spriting the official art and calling it an OC probably wouldn't be allowed.

If you mean making a spite out of the original Edgeworth concept art or something like that (where he looked like a vampire?) yes, that's all right. But part of the judging is originality, which is something to keep in mind.
