The way he explains it makes it sound like it was an accident, but it wasn't. He intentionally burned his fingers to erase his prints and hide his identity.

He didn't say anything about it being accidental or not. Of course, you assume it's accidental, but he doesn't imply it one way or another. Plus he still had to get the job...
@burninator: Once the crate was on the ground, if he let the rope go slack the hook would probably come out, so he could pull the rope back up.

Also, when you show Pearl's profile to Matt in prison, he says "That person looks like someone in my fan club" even though she is right there.
Bad Player's post explains both of these.
Ok, I got one. I know there is an explanation, but I just want to know what it is.
There's most likely a simple explanation I'm just missing.

In 1-5, when Ema is testifying, she says that she saw one man stab another in the chest. I noticed that in the SL-9 case files, it said that Marshall died from a stab wound in the back, so I presented it. Unfortunately, the judge is apparently senile and gave me the guilty verdict.
So that coversation would have gone something like this:
: It was dark, so I couldn't see who was who, but I did see one of the men stab the other in the chest
: The man being stabbed presumably being the victim, Neil Marshall.
: OBJECTION! It says here that Neil Marshall died from a stab wound to the back. That's a contradiction!
: I'm sorry, but I see no contradiction.
