Since there are several threads about foreshadowing in the AA games, I thought "why not make one about Hotel Dusk?". I replayed the game recently, and I noticed that Rosa says that Jeff "looks innocent, but it's the nice-looking people that you have to look after" in Chapter 1, referring to his actions during chapter 4 and 5.

So... Have anyone noticed anything else?

Well, it's been a while since I played...there is the obvious one of dunning mentioning another Kyle Hyde..and that's all I've got right now. Consider this a bump : P

Not really foreshadowing, but around Chapter 8/9 I suspected that Rachel was Grace and Ed was Robert Evans/Alan. Yeah...weird.

Rosa did a bunch of foreshadowing stuff relating to the characters, or at least, she seemed to "know" each one's secrets.

She did say something about how Summers (forgot the author's first name, sorry) only good book was the Secret Word, and that his other books weren't very good. Also, she says that his signature showed, if I remember correctly, a man with a deep secret... and something else, like known to cheat or something

Oh, of course, there's that magazine with Iris on the front...

I noticed another thing in chapter 1 (New Game +).

Rachel: blah blah blah has the package arrived yet?
Kyle: No, not yet. Maybe some shadowy organisation killed the bellhop.

And it later turns out that Nile is after Louis.

I wouldn't so much call that foreshadowing, because at the time the magazine gives no connection whatsoever to Iris/Cecily Lee [Unless you count Louis getting off to both Iris and the magazine as a connection]

Erm...does the newspaper about the robbery count?

I think it does qualify.

Oh, and it's hinted pretty early in the game that Dunning hates cops.

Actually, I think it's different in New Game +. There are some other dialogue differences.

New Game +? I haven't heard of it. What is it?

If you do a second playthrough some of the dialogue changes, and there's the option for a new scene.

I am on my second playthrough.

@ Brawldud: When you've finished the game, it should ask you if you want to save. Choose "yes". Then, you will be taken back to the start screen. If you load your original save file, the game should start over from the beginning.

The differences this time are:
- Some dialogue changes.
- There are different items in the vending machine, or so I've heard at least.
- You can get a slightly different ending by doing a small sidequest.
- You can make the text go faster.

I think that's about it...

In Chapter 4,

EDIT: In Hotel Dusk.

"Has the bellboy brought Ed's package?"
"No. Maybe he crawled into a bottle."

AND Louie managed to get into the wine cellar.

Also when you examine the crossword in Rosa's room, Kyle says he's not a big fan of them.
And yet, there's a crossword in LW.
