It seems like you're basing this assumption off nothing...
Also, the reason why she may look younger in the picture is because the art is done by a different artist. Just compare Edgeworth and Gumshoe to their older art too, while you're at it.

They're probably from the Mafia but there will definitely be an explanation!^^
Anyway for Franziska's backstory, I don't really know. That would be great of course... She has a important place in the game (GK I mean) but does that bring in her back story? I don't know.
And I don't find her evil on that picture, she's just... her.

My geuss would be that they work for Rou, looking at the way they're positioned. Maybe they're some kind of supercool extrablacksuited investigators helping him?

Lets say those guys in the background are prosecutors. Well, you know how some animated shows like the Simpsons poke fun at lawyers by making them out as evil?
Well, maybe this whole "prosecuters are bad" hing that I'm getting at may hint at the possible reason for Edgeworths "redemption" if you will. But as I've said before in another topic, the game hasn't come out yet, so this is very likely to be inaccurate.

I really don't know what to say to that. I think that Edgeworth's back-story has already been explained, so definitely there will be some back story for her of Mikumo, in my opinion.

My guess is this, they are a mystery which has a dark past somewhere but turn out to not be evil yet does something against the law, ala almost all the prosecutors.
