I mean, I expect the DA to make an appearance and talk to Edgeworth a few times, like it is the other way around in GS. But I think introducing the DA and never even being able to see him in court would be pointless...

Well, considering that there's not going to be any court scenes, we probably won't see much from the defense attorneys... Plus, isn't the defense technically not supposed to be able to investigate certain things anyway? It always felt like you were trespassing or something whenever you investigated in the PW games. ^_^;;

Well Phoenix always ended up going everywhere. And he always met up with the prosecutor in places he was allowed to go anyway.

What you're forgetting is that we'll be playing in an earlier part of the legal proceedings than Phoenix was usually involved in (unless he happened to be around for the crime itself). Here's the order of events in a case in the AA world:

1. Crime is committed
2. Police and prosecutor(s) investigate
3. Suspect is found and arrested
4. DA is hired
5. DA pokes around and investigates (and in Phoenix's case, does it much better than the police >>)
6. Trial

From what we've seen, in this game we'll be playing in steps 1-3. A case will probably end with the arrest of the suspect, thus before a defense attorney is even called in.

So while it's possible that there may be one or more defense attorney characters involved in the cases somehow, we're probably not going to have that same Procecution vs. Defense dynamic that the other AA games always had. Instead it'll be Edgeworth + Detectives vs. Criminal.
