I want to know if anyone would be interested, before me and my friend start, to play a game as Manfred von Karma as a "perfect" prosecutor. You would forge signatures on autopsy reports, hide evidence, bully witnesses into submission, and of course because you couldn't be Von Karma without out, taze people who refuse to cooperate. We would not make this using any case makers because they are to basic and close ended in my opinion, this would be made like a normal program. However game play would be a mix of Ace Attorney Investigations and the classic Phoenix Wright games (as in no moving, but I did like the sprites in conversation). Progress has begun somewhat....but not really. Still working out the concept and ideas, but don't want to go to far if no one would play it. Oh and one final thing, depending on how well you bully, forge, hide, and yell at people in court, you get a score so people can compete for who really is the most Perfect, Corrupt, Prosecutor.

Any Feedback would be much appreciated, and let me know if I stole your idea also, because I think I saw something similar to this before.

Thanks again
-Raknathal

Some Info:

Name of the Game: Manfred Von Karma: Perfection in Prosecuting
Play As: Manfred von Karma in his many years as a prosecutor
Final Case would be somehow related to the DL-6 incident, obviously.
(more in a bit)
Adding von to your name makes it more fancy. Examples:
Phoenix Wright vs Phoenix von Wright, Miles Edgeworth vs Miles von Edgeworth,
Maya Fey vs Maya von Fey, Ema Skye vs Ema von Skye,
The Judge vs The von Judge??? <-- maybe not this one

Yeah the idea existed but was probably abandoned and I don't think whoever it was would care.

Also, you don't need to make your own program. Use PWLib.

I don't know...
playing as the bad guy in some games is fun but in AA it would just feel... strange.
I don't know GTA and AA combined would seem to equal what Ace Attorney cardridges and Cantoloupe taste like together... two great things, not good outcome... :yuusaku:

I think it sounds fun. Playing as evil can be interesting. Making your own engine might work, but it could add a lot of delay where pwlib would work just fine. I don't know what is so closed about it. There are probably even ways to do most of what you want with pywright. Of course, making your own engine is fun too :)

Go for it, I want to prosecute my enemies into the ground :)

Is PWLIB really that dynamic? Whenever I tried using it, not only did I fail horrendously but I ended up pulling my hair out.
:headbang:
Which is very unusual because I love programming.

PWLib is not a single bit dynamic. AIGE is. And on the PWLib In A Nutshell I didn't explain AHLSL (AIGE's language) deeply enough to make use of its full power. Also AIGE's version that comes with PWLib 1.1 still misses some important features (that I added on AIGE 800a for PWLib 1.2).

The whole PWLib was developed in pure AHLSL (AIGE only provides the minimal objects, and nothing PW-related).

And one thing I recommend: had issues? Ask.

There was a project by Lynx that looked promising (Von Karma: Corrupt Attorney, see http://www.gyakutenwiki.net/w/Von_Karma ... t_Attorney), but I think it's now abandoned.
Too bad... I'd be particularly interested in a Von Karma game. I wouldn't want to "play as evil", though. I'd rather like it to be about how Von Karma became Von Karma. I would also like it to explore the backstory of other characters such as Gant and the Judge.
Starting with a younger, more idealistic Karma would allow the gameplay and plot to be more interesting: with an "innocent until proven guilty" system, longer trials and a bias against prosecutors, winning cases would be more difficult and Von Karma would realize the need to forge evidence in order to ensure conviction.

Interesting idea, I'll see if I can work it in somehow. My main focus was going to be Manfred von Karma originally, since he is without a doubt my favorite character from the series with sadly little development, but I'll see if I can include others as backstory. Younger Judge, Police Officer Gant maybes???? Still working out concepts/story as we speak.

My idea for a Von Karma Game is...
What about the "Logic Mode" or something like that? Von Karma can connect the evidence found in the crime scene and establish a motive for the defendant.

I'm trying to stem this as far away from Miles Edgeworth: Ace Attorney Investigations, and to me that seems very familiar to it. Connecting logic for a motive is similar to connecting logic for the truth? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Logo has been finished, after lots of tweaking. Please let me know your feedback and ideas, as I try to make this project happen.

I'm definitely for this idea. Von Karma was one of the best prosecutors of the series, but he only showed up for the 4th case of the first game, and never again. Seeing a break off into his past would be something i'd watch for.

Plus, I think it would be fun to have some kind of evidence-forging system and such. Good luck with the project!

P.S. Logo is nice, but a bit big and the white background looks a bit bland.

Hah, playing the role of the most important character for the AA story (Or am I mixing him up with Redd White?). Interesting... Very interesting, I'd love to see this.

In case 1-4 von Karma practically ACTS like the Judge, declaring things that Phoenix says overruled and constantly demanding things from him that normally a Judge would. In fact I even think the Judge tells him that he's doing it.

Ehm, I meant the actually story line. Think about it, no Von Karma, no DL-6. No case 1-4. Boring sequel.
