She looked into the sky and the sun was setting, "sorry, got to go. The hotel closes in a few minutes. Bye!"
She ran quickly, if she couldn't get into the hotel then she would have no where to sleep. She saw the door closing and she ran faster. She was just in time.

The three Pokémon nodded before retreating into the trees. Canace, in the meantime, took out two bottles of water, two green apples, and a can of soup.
"I hope you don't mind soup," she said. "It's not the most creative meal ever, but it works. I've got apples for dessert."

She gave herself a tour of the city, noting the location of the Pokemon Centre, stores & of course, the Gym. From the little Oreburg brouchure she picked up, she deducted that Roark the Gymleader, was a total Rock-hard Hunk. She shook her head, that's not what's important, she had to beat him to go on, she hadn't the time to be thinking about men.
She & her Charmeleon walked the dark, deserted streets looking for a hotel, all of which were closed. She sighed & threw down her haversack. "Looks like it'll be just like old times." She said to her Charmeleon, as she began to put the tent poles together. She looked around & saw another group setting up camp not too far off, at least she wasn't alone in doing this, so wouldn't look like a complete idiot. She handed a corner of the tarp to Charmeleon & spread it out, having him hold it up while she hammered the pegs into the dirt. "It feels a little weird going all out roughin' right in a town huh?" She said to her companion, who nodded in agreement. "Char." She produced a few burning logs from her haversack, because it looked like there wouldn't be any sticks laying around, this town was pretty much completely treeless; & had Charmeleon start the little bonfire, in which she roasted a can of generic beans & wieners.

The hotel was amazing, definitely fancy. The ambience was fancy, the décor was fancy, in fact it was all fancy.
For dinner she had a buffet so large she could not decide where to begin. Her pokemon had an amazing dinner too. She amd her pokemon felt great. She then headed to the bedroom which was just as glorious. She was going to have a great night...

After he and his Pokémon had thier dinner it was time for them to sleep Rocky and ZUbat returned to thier Pokéballs as Pachirisu went into his comfy bed that only had a blanket since his tail was used as a pillow as Anthony went into his sleeping bag he fell asleep.

Anthony woke up and lets out a yawn and his yawn woke up his Pachirisu. Anthony gathered his stuff and put everything back.
Pachirisu jumps and clicks both Rocky and Zubat's Pokeballs to let them out as they let out a roar and they were sliding on Rocky's body.
Anthony made them breakfast while they were having fun. "Breakfast time." He said as he put bowls out and gave them thier food as Anthony ate a Breakfast Pizza.
After they were done eating (inclduing Anthony). Anthony had cleaned the dishes and put them away. "Time to head to Orebugh Gym." He said as he put Rocky and Zubat back in their balls. Pachirisu jumped on his shoulder. Anthony walks towards the Orebuh Gym and sees a note. "Be back in a while. At the Orebugh Mine. Signed Roark." It had The Gym Leader's name on it. "Guess he is in the Mining. I better take a look at the mining." He said as he goes to the Mining only to see Roark. "Its been a long time, Roark." Anthony said.
Roark turned around only to see Anthony. "Ah, Anthony it had been a long time I hope you are doing well." He said as he calpped his hands.
"I have been doing well, and you have been doing well as well." Anthony said as he laughed.
"So I take it you are here to challenge me?" Roark asked.
"Yea, after all I have to get not only your Gym's badge but the 'item' you said you got for me in your letter, as well. Oh yeah you also got 2 more people that wanted to challenge you but like they say, The Early Pidgey catches the Caterpie." He said as he laughed.
"Well then lets battle." Roark said as he takes Anthony to the inside of his Gym with Anthony following behind him.
Anthony sees the Gym battle field. "Wow a field for Rock-type Pokémon." He grinned.

"This town is really depressing." She said in regard to the lack of green, & mining machinery littered around; totally different than most cities in her native Kanto.
She looked at her Poketch "We better hurry up, if we want to be the first, & get outta this ugly place already." But at least the Gym Leader's hot... She made it to the Gym & swung open the doors, only to find Roark already being challenged. She sighed & slide down the wall her Rainyday, worn out from the sprint across town. It seemed like a good idea to stay & look for strategies anyway.

"Go, Geodude" Roark said as he brings his Geodude onto the field.
"Go Pachirisu!" Anthony said as Pachirisu is on the field.
"Pachirisu? Are you sure?" Roark asked.
"Don't be fooled by my Pachirisu this guy got a few tricks up his sleeve." Anthony laughed.
"Fine but it will be your loss. Geodude use Rollout." Roark said as Geodude curls into a ball and started to roll at Pachirisu.
"Pachirisu, use Agility and then use Iron Tail!" Anthony said.
"Pachi!" Pachirisu said as he used Agiltiy to gain speed and then jumped as it tail glowed it slammed its tail onto Geodude causing a huge smoke with a Geodude knocked out and a Pachirisu almsot exhausted.
That Iron tail, Pachirisu used almost all of its strength to knock out that Geodude. Anthony thought.
"Geodude, return." Roark said. "You did well, Geodude." He looks at Anthony. "Your Pachirisu is amazing but I wonder if Pachirisu got enough to fight my Onix! Go!" He said as he brought out Onix to the field.
"Pachirisu return! Go Rocky!" He said as Pachirisu went back to Anthony to rest as Anthony brought out Rocky to the field.
"ONIX!" Both of the Onix roared.
"A Battle between our Onixs. This should be good." Roark said. "Onix use sandstorm."
Roark's Onix used Sandstorm.
"Rocky, use Dragonbreath!" Anthony said as Rocky unleashed Dragonbreath on Roark's Onix dealing half damage.
"Onix use Rollout." Roark said as Onix hit Rocky with Rollout.
"Rocky use Payback!" Anthony said as Rocky sued Payback to deal damage double that of which Rocky has recieved by Roark's Onix.
"Oni.....x" Roark's Onix fell to the ground.
"Onix in unable to battle victory goes to Anthony's Onix." The ref said.
"Onix return, you did well." He said as Onix returned to its Pokéball. "I'm impressed Anthony. Your Onix to atcually learn Payback AND Dragonbreath. I guess it must had been training for these years. But it won't be enough to stand against my Rampardos! Go!" Roark said as he brought out his Rampados.
Rampodos roared.
"Rocky return." Anthony said as Rocky returned to its Pokéball. "Go Zubat!"
"Zubat!" Zubat screeched.
"Rampados use HYPER BEAM!" Roark said.
Rampados used Hyper Beam.
"Zubat dodge it with Agility!" He said as Zubat dodged Rampados attacked with Agility. "Now Zubat counter with Twister and combine it with HEAT WAVE!" Anthony said.
"Zuuuuuuuuubaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!" Zubat screeched as it used Twister and Heat wave on Roark's Rampardos. It caused a huge explosion and Rampardos is still standing but cannot make another move until it can use another move.
"To think you can actually use a combo like that, Anthony. You have grown." Roark said.
"Yes but I am sad to say but the match is over." Anthony said. "Zubat, finish the match with Giga Drain."
Zubat used Giga drain on Rampardos as it took major damage Rampardos was knocked out.
"Rampardos is unable to battle, Anthony from Twinleaf Town wins." The Ref said.
((Insert winning theme))
"Rampardos return. To think that my friend to beat me. As promsied you have the right to earn the Coal badge and this crystal." Roark said as he handed Anthony the Coal badge and a crystal.
"So this is the 'item' you told me about." Anthony asked.
"Yes its a very rare crystal stone. Said to be made from a Crystalized Onix." Roark said.

When the pain subsided, he turned to Canace. "This is good", he stuttered, coughing up air from the deluge of water he ingested. "It's not too spicy but it certainly is hot. Not "spicy" hot but...hot like how good soup should be. Hot straight from the pot." He wiped his mouth and took another bite. He remembered what his parents used to say: " 'If it's not hot, soup it is not'...is what my parents always said." He offered some to Ralts and Ralts salivated wildly, yanking the bowl from Ivan and gulping the soup down without haste; broth, potatoes, and all. He didn't seem to mind the heat one bit. Ivan frowned at his empty bowl but shrugged it off. "Is there enough for seconds", he asked while calling Geodude over to the camp site.

Ivan yawned, exhaused from the day's journey. While everyone else ate their dinner, he pulled himself under his sleeping bag and was soon out cold, dreaming about standing on top of a tall trainer stand in a huge stadium with bleechers of die hard fans screaming his name. The dream was not an unpleasant one.

"It was just a dream, now," she told herself and looked at the clock, she was late. She rushed out of bed. Got changed etc.
She rushed out of the hotel with her Pachirisu hlding tightly to her back. she rushed to the gym.
"Darn, it's in use. I'll have to wait my turn." she sighed and waited till she could fight the gym leader.

While he waited, he released Geodude and Ralts from their Pokeballs. Both were still sleepy but Ivan had orders. "Okay", he spoke up, "Oreburgh is only a four hour walk away and we haven't been training hard enough. So, before we leave, you two are going to have a sparring session. We need to be in as best shape as possible for Roark, do you understand?" Both nodded and took their positions facing each other out in the field. "Ready...go!" Ivan shouted.
Geodude opened and Ralts retaliated while Ivan waited.

Jotaro and Roark got in their respective places. "Jotaro Kujo from Goldenrod City, wished to challange gym leader Roark, commence the battle!"
Jotaro threw the pokeball containing Lairon, "go Lairon!"
Roark threw the pokeball containing Geodude "Geodude, I choose you!"
The Lairon and Geodude stared eachother down, then Roark yelled out "Geodude, use rock throw!" The Geodude picked up one of the large rocks laying about the gym, "Lairon, use Iron defence, then counter with Metal claw!" called out Jotaro.
Lairon's think steel hide hardened, the rock broke on it like a snowball on concrete, then Lairon charged the Geodude while it was recovering from the throw, the Geodude was his square in the face by Lairons claws.
The Geodude fell to the ground, unconcious. "Lairon, you still up for it?" Lairon let out a confident roar.
Roark called out his Onix, a big and daunting foe, but Lairon was unmoved.
"Onix use bide!" yelled Roark. His Onix glowed red, and did not move an inch.
"Ok, we have to take him out before he can use our attacks against us, so Lairon, use low-kick!" Lairon charged Onix and hit in at it's low point with it's hind leg. The Onix fell over, and lost it's concentration, "now Lairon, use gyro ball!" (( I've never seen this used in the show, and the game's animations are unrelyable, so yeah... )) Onix was hit with the Gyro ball, and fell to the ground.
Lairon was now tired, but still determined to fight. Roark sent out his final pokemon, Rampardos.
"Rampardos, use metal head!" exclaimed Roark, "Lairon, do the same!" said Jotaro. Both pokemon charged at eachother, theie heads colliding, both trained held their breath, as both pokemon stood still, their heads interlocked, and frozen. Then suddenly Lairon began to faulter, stumbling back a little.
Roark yelled out, "Rampardos, use headbutt!" But it did not respond, the Ramprdos simply stood their, then fell over, it had been knocked out, and Lairon regained it's footing.
"Roark sighed, well, I guess you win, as promised here in the Coal Badge, and a little token of my appreciation." Roark gave him TM74. "That's Stealth Rock, it's a move that can be used to hurt pokemon that switch into battle." (( Yes, I totally ripped that from the game. ))
Jotaro took the badge, and the TM and walked off. Roark called to him "nice battlin' with ya." Jotaro replied "yeah, you too."

"I'm here to challenge you," announced Cecilia pointing at Roark.
"Hello Cecilia, of course you can challenge me, if you're tough enough," smirked Roark.
Cecilia stood one isde and Roark on the other.
"Geodude!" Roark cried ad Geodude emerged from it's pokeball.
"Go, Shellos!" Cecilia cried and out came Shellos.
The two pokemon looked at each other,
"Rain dance!" Cecilia cried and Shellos performed rain dance,
"now's your chance dynamic punch," shouted Roark, Geodude went in for the attack.
"Quick, counter it with water pulse," Cecilia replied and Geodude's attack was countered by Shellos' water pulse.
"Let's finish this quickly," said Roark, "self-destruct!"
Geodude started turning red and was about to self destruct, then Cecilia called, "protect!"
Shellos protected itself as Geodude self-destructed.
"Return," said Roark and Cecilia. Cecilia won round 1.
"Your good, obviously" commented Roarke as she chose her next pokemon, "Rampardos!"
Rampardos roared as it came out.
Cecilia smiled, she knew who to pick. "Aipom."
Aipom came out and the battle begun.
"Rock smash," said Roark, Rampardos went in to attack but before it did,
Cecilia cried, "Doube team then slam!"
Aipom used double team and Rampardos stopped in it's tracks, Aipom then used Slam but didn't knock it out.
"Rest," cried Roark and Rampardos slept regaing hp.
"Dream eater," grinned Cecilia and Aipom used it causing Rampardos to faint.
"Return," both trainers cried, Cecilia had won that round.
"Onix!" cried Roark and Onix took the field,
"Steelix," said Cecilia as Steelix took the field,
"Impressive, you've got a Steelix," smiled Roark.
"Iron tail times three!" cried Cecilia, Steelix used it's iron tail three times each doing double damage; Onix is weak against steel types.
"Dragon breath," said Roark, surpringly to Cecilia, Onix went in for the attack - Cecilia had to do something,
"Protect," she said and it worked though Steelix took some damage, this last move will have to work
"Hyper beam," said Cecilia and Steelix used it but then both Steelix and Onix fainted.
"Return," they both said.
"Good game," smiled Cecilia as she was handed the badge and TM.
"You really are like your sister," smiled Roark.
"Thanks, where should I head to next?" asked Cecilia,
"Hearthrome, take route 207, through Mt. Coronet and through route 208 and you should arrive through the west gate," said Roark handing her a map.
"Thank you again," said Cecilia as she took the map and left, "bye!"
Cecilia decided to leave Oreburgh now and went to route 207...

Ralts stood up, nearly exhausted but still having enough energy to jump back in the fight. "Good job, Ralts! Just a few more minutes and we'll stop to rest, eat breakfast, then be on the road." He turned back to Canace. "Oreburgh should be only a few more hours from here. We should arrive at between 12:00 and 1:00 without any rests."

Each time Mary went to rise & challenge Roark, someone else stepped up in her place. slumping against the wall each time she pouted shortly to her charmeleon, it seemed like no one noticed her, that's usually how it was, even in her family...
Finally, when it seemed that everyone was done, she waited a while to give poor Roark, who had just fought like, 4 battles in a row, take a break, before challenging him.
((sorry I don't have time to do an awsome battle sequence, but I don't have much time on here, but I need to keep up appearances))
She defeated all 3 of Roark's pokemon with Rainyday, who despite being a fire-type, gained an advantage knowing how to use Metal claw. She earned her badge & strolled out onto the town.
"looks like this is going to be quite a scramble, seeing as how there are so many trainers clumped in this area..." She said to herself, she had a habit of doing so, she never really hung out with anybody. "We should wait before challenging the next gym, but for now, let's get outta this city, it's very chaulky..." She bought some provisions from the Pokemart, & payed a quick visit to the Pokemon centre, before heading out on the road again.
