I'm going to learn the guitar over the summer. I did buy one a long time ago, but I lost interest. Now, I watched K-On! A new anime involving catchy music and of course, I wanted to pick up the instrument again. If you like anime, watch K-On. Just the intro or ending song will make you want to learn an instrument so you can play it.;D

*sigh* Everyone seems to beg for guitarists and drummers, but not pianists...I would loooove to learn guitar, but the only one I have is my dad's, which is way too big for me, and unless I was ultra-serious about learning it, I won't be getting one...

I'm yet to have a single lesson as everytime I'm due for one something gets in the way. It's probably fates way of saying "don't even think about it, you'll be shit" but ... I really wanna learn it!!

I was handed down a bass guitar from my sister, but I gave up on it in record time.
If I ever get around to getting one, I'd like to learn how to play the Harmonica. They're not expensive, right?

Seriously, check out Songbird Ocarinas. That's where I got mine and it's amazing. They have five-hole, six-hole, I think they've got a few higher ones than that. But they're really great. Can't say that I much like their site design, it was better before, but...
I actually play five instruments. Trumpet is my main, I play it in the marching band. But I also play ocarina, fife, tin whistle, and mandolin.
I really want to learn guitar though, but I can't afford one.

My 14 year old cousin can play piano and trombone and is teaching himself to play guitar. He's so clever and I'm very jealous haha
My dad taught himself to play guitar and bass guitar so I'm hoping that I've inherited some sort of musical gene for stringed instruments when I finally get round to violin lessons xP haha I'm such a retard.

Currently I play keyboard but I'm not all that good at it as I can only really play right handed. (I can do both hands for only one song - clocks) I mostly try to learn videogame tunes by ear and stuff.

Any specific reasons why you may have quit or started an instrument?
My motivation emanates from my love of anime music. After watching K-On and many other animes, I felt compelled to pick up my guitar again and actually learn it this time.
I am hoping to create a band that plays popular anime songs once I learn the guitar, but the problem is everyone here in Canada does not appreciate japanese music. My only other option is internet jamming....

Flute needs nine fingers. Much simpler.
(I can actually play piano with one hand pretty well, and do single notes on the guitar all right. I suck at chords... which is kinda why I dropped guitar =\ )

Go for the trombone. Only needs one hand and a mouth, is a great instrument, can play pretty much any music style, and there's a huge shortage of them.

I'm sad because I'm quitting band this year. Well, it is of my own account, but it's because all the attention is geared toward the marching band kids (I hate physical exercise :P) and if you're not one of them, you don't matter or deserve to learn anything new. I decided to quit, though I might enter a band when I get to college. I just know that I'm eventually gonna get too lazy to practice my scales and such on my clarinet... I love band, but I despise my teacher and I can only put up with so much lack of organization and attention. [/meaningless rant]

Yeah, I hope so too.A friend of mine has written a bunch of lyrics for songs, and she's thinking of giving me the job of trying to write an accompaniment for it.
((she also has connections to a recording place... hm... lol)) So hopefully I can do some stuff with that, too. Have any pianists attempted playing with another person? (like Heart and Soul?) It's actually a ton of fun if you know someone who's good at improving music and one person chooses "bass" and another chooses the "melody". It's oodles of fun
I play bass because my friend, who does melody, feels more comfortable at it. Bass can be tedious, because you're really just playing the same thing over and over, but you get to control the direction of the song. ^.^ I started piano because at my elementary school, if you could play the piano, you were totally "amazing" or something. So I begged my mom for lessons when I was 8, which was old at that time, and haven't stopped! I love playing video game and pop music (♥~Vanessa Carlton). I'm attempting to play some FF X and X-2 and some Chrono Cross.
I've also developed a chord pattern that sounds very pop-esque. It's actually quite simple, and I'm sure others have figured it out
My made-up songs sound very poppish right now, and I'm trying to develop a New Age style (my favorite XD)
