Did anyone else feel like this was the best trial in the game for Apollo and Klavier in the court room?

Yes, the trial was riddled was a crap load of problems (I still do NOT see how you could pin a shooting on a guy Machi's build/age with a gum that could dislocate an adult's shoulder or two) but upon replaying the case it really felt like that was point in the game where Apollo was growing and Klavier was getting serious. One of the problems with AJ that constantly get poked at is:

1. Apollo always needs to be led by the hand.
2. Klavier helps Apollo/the defense too much.

In 4-2 it's painfully obvious but in 4-3 you actually see Apollo getting the jump on both Klavier and Trucy (both who had to save your ass in the last trial) in coming up with the solutions himself and Klavier was actually pressing pretty hard (i.e: his strat involving Machi's eye-sight) up until about the end of the trial. Apollo did need Phoenix's advice to get Daryan in the end but to be fair how many times did Phoenix need a little boost from someone?

I might be a little bit biased since I cleverly played this game first of the lot and therefore automatically love Apollo...

But yeah. I agree. It was nice to finally be able to do something yourself. Or have Polly do so, at any rate :odoroki:

I should probably replay 4-3. But I'll have a hard time doing so because I was really pissed by all the errors and how horribly written that one was.

I didn't hate it, but I just have to say that 4-4 was the best out of AJ.

I dunno. 4-3 was actually one of my favorite cases, despite all the obvious errors. Sure, some parts didn't make any sense, and the cocoon thing was a little farfetched, but Romein LeTouse is awesome, it's Valant Gramarye's first appearance, and I really liked the video and mixing board evidence pieces since they were unexpected and unique ways to find contradictions. And like you said, lots of Klavier and Apollo fighting. I really liked how, near the end, Klavier gets tenser and tenser as he realizes who the true killer was, as if he isn't really willing to accept it at first.

Also, I hated 4-2. With a passion. The only good things were the Kitaki music, the forensics, and the Oldbag cameo. Just gonna throw that out there...

EDIT: Oh, and Eldoon.

but it's not really time travel, it's a computer simulation! D:

(though the idea of a time travelling attorney-turned-hobo in hunt of the man who ruined his career is pretty awesome...)

4-3 gets flack? I was under the impression that most people liked 4-1 and 4-3, and disliked 4-2 and 4-4. 4-3's got some clever gimmicks (even if that video gets tiresome), a cool ending that toys with our assumptions about how these trials work, and some good characters. I'll admit that there are massive plot holes, but there usually are.

Although, in case 4-3, it seems almost as if the game emphasizes the plot hole that should have made it easy for the defendant to get off... as if the authors are trying to say something about how screwed up the AA court system is. Hmm.

I liked all other cases except 4-3. I figured out how it was done halfway through, and it takes day for anyone to catch up to me. Plus, it possibly the most linear of investigations and that beginning part with Ema I can never get past without a walkthrough.
The characters were great, but it was a waste of what could have been a more eventful case. D:
I mean, even when Lamiroir turns up knocked out in the violin case, I knew she would be alive. And it cemented the Daryan was the killer, because why would anyone else want to kill her?

If I had to say anything I didn't like about 4-3... It's actually the way Daryan changed.

Spoiler:
Like, when you first see him, Investigation 1 and Trial Former, he seems like a trustworthy detective, and Klavier's reliable friend, who's just a bit rude and just happens to be dressed like a shark with ridiculous hair. Then you hit Investigation 2 and right off the bat he's spontaneously turned into this major dick who keeps insulting you.

It's like... It's as if they wrote the first two parts of the case before they knew who the true killer was going to be.

And I actually kind of liked 4-4's time travel. Mostly because it tied up the loose ends and brought about the return of the psycholock. And for each piece of evidence you supposedly "brought through time," it wasn't impossible for you to have it in either time period if you think about it. Lemme see if I got this right: basically, Phoenix recorded those eight encounters on his own, and then uploaded the tapes into the MASON system for jurist viewing?

Then again, I seem to love EVERYTHING everyone else hates. Meekins FTW. :mike-salute:

Actually, I really liked 4-3, especially after 4-1 and 4-2, two weak cases.

4-3 was really fun, and yes, it was one of the few times where Apollo could really shine.
I mean, he did an okay job in 4-4, but Phoenix stole the show there.

Funny, that's exactly how I felt with 4-2.
