That's right, I'm starting on a very ambitious project.
I'm going to make a LOZ ace attorney game with at least 4 trials. I've got the roles figured out and most of the story. However, I will need spriters.
Here's what I'm planning:
Link: Defense Attorney
Midna: Defense Aid
Ganondorf: Prosecutor/Witness like the villains of AA
Zelda: Witness/Defendant
Saria: Defendant
Mido: Witness
Ralph (from Oracles): Prosecutor
Malon: Witness
Illia: Defendant
Rusl: Veteran Attorney (What Grossberg is to Mia)
Dark Link: Fake Attorney (think Tigre!)
I probably won't use all of these and in the first case, Zelda is the defendant and Ralph is the prosecutor. If you haven't seen certain characters before (Midna's sprite will be a spoiler for Twilight Princess so beware), I will provide a picture.
All I need is spriters and I will handle the rest. I'll start in Pywright and finish in PWLIB.
If you can sprite these, thanks very much.

Jobs:
Head of Project: Klavice Gavin (me)
Programmer: Me, another one just to be safe would be nice
Beta Testers: Available
Composer: Not a necessary job, but would spice up the project if someone could make a few remixes of Zelda songs. Available
Spriters: Sketchinmaster, also available
Back, check out LOZ AA.

What do you mean, start in Pywright, finish in PWlib?

Sounds good, though.

you should definitely have an appearance from sheik in there somewhere, just because. But this sounds awesome anyway.
I'm just commenting, I can't make sprites XP

GO for it! I'll help anyway I can (generally programming, or fixing sprites if there are problems in that area). Character choices are awesome! For spriting, best is to make sure each frame in the sprite sheet takes up exactly 256x192 pixels, with no spacing pixels between frames, and no extra pixels outside the border of the sheet. Pywright handles power-of-2 problems, so there is no need to try and make the sheet the right shape.

Random, I think he means start in pywright, and then convert it to pwlib when the integration language is working. At some point in future it will be fairly easy to switch between engines. Not to mention, it's not that hard to rewrite the logic for a case, the hardest part is designing the case and coming up with that logic in the first place.

Hmmm, why don't simply start with PWLib? You plan to have a final version running in it after all. You would get full PWLib power right away (something Kirakishou won't be able to give on conversion).

Starting in pywright then using Kirakishou to have it on PWLib sounds a bit Robert Wares to me.

Ah, just kidding, but when I saw your post, I seriously started laughing my head off when I saw this post.

And this Legend of Zelda game sounds like a pretty entertaining idea to me. I shall entertain this entertaining idea.

I had to use the example, it was perfect.

I hope that the game really gets released (and not forgotten as many games on CR).

It will... though the sprites might require the talents of RandomJibberish or Ceres.

EG: Link slashing his sword (Think Franziska's whip!)
Ralph throwing daggers
Link blocking daggers with his shield (Yes! Courtroom will be more Zeldalike!)
Zelda using her bow
Ganondorf transforming (well he doesn't actually transform, it will look like it though)
Saria playing Ocarina
Link playing Ocarina
Mido walking away
The breakdown animations will be fairly unique too. For instance Saria will play her ocarina then drop it, breaking it. Ralph's will be something like a bloody scar on his face and pound the table.
Ganondorf will punch the wall.
If anyone can do those, it'll be much appreciated. :edgy:

Those ideas are awesome! For the dagger it should be animated by the engine, just sprite the throwing animation :) (Well the dagger needs an image too course). Same thing for zelda's arrows.

Wait, I just thought of something...
How is this going to work without Link talking? And before you say anything, Link ABSOLUTELY cannot talk, that would be as sinful as Legend of Zelda for the CD-i.

Zelda for the CD-i. Worst game ever, or WORST game ever?

That is a good point, it would be weird to have link talk, but doubly weird for link not to talk. As long as there is no voice acting, I don't think it would be terrible to have lines.

Maybe not talking could work... Instead of objection, you get a dagger in the face. Instead of blabbing about why the evidence matters, everyone else asks him what he means by showing the evidence. Midna could do the talking...

I think speech would be better though, and since it's not an rpg, I'm not so sure that rule is so necessary to follow.

Yes, of course. That's a problem.
What saluk said could work, just difficult to accomplish.
The way this'll work out won't just be characters translating Link's grunts.

He needs to speak with pictures:
Link: "x testimony + x evidence = that red circle with the diagonal line thing"
Judge: "But why?"
Link: "witness knife victim!"

OR not be the attorney?!?

Who's the case 1 witness, victim, and judge?

Here's something you should remember:
When Link gets an item, as soon as he recieves it there is some sort of 4-piece (scale?) string of notes.

So someone else can do it!

Also, I have an idea for the last case.
Spoiler:
Surprisingly enough, it is NOT murder, but theft! The theft of either the Master Sword or the Triforce... The culprit would be too obvious though... but maybe he could be the defendant?

Maybe you could make this one in both PyWright and PWLib? It's not a bad idea. (Because as far as I know PWLib isn't compatible with my memory card.)

It might take a spot longer, but the hardest part is planning everything, it isn't that hard to simply put it in our case-construction engines. :redd:

This is due to a faulty computer.
I haven't given up, nor do I plan to cancel this project.
I'm just not a spriter, so if someone could do the spriting, I'll do the rest.
I plan to give PWLIB a whirl.
Edit: Tetra will be a witness, and possibly the final victim.
There will be TWO victims in the final case.
Here's a list of Victims:
Case 1: Kapora Gaebora (murder)
Case 2: Saria (theft)
Case 3: Sarahasala (murder)
Case 4: Sheik (NOT Zelda, this is a different Sheik)
Case 5: Tetra (Injury) and Maple the Witch (murder)

Defendants:
Case 1: Saria
Case 2: Ralph
Case 3: Zelda/Tetra
Case 4: Malon
Case 5: Vaati

The Prosecutor's List is unknown, only Ganondorf , Vaati , and Ralph are the most likely though.
Your assistant will likely be Midna or Navi, whatever you guys think would work more.

I think Ceres or a master spriter should do Ralph, because of his complex animations, but you could try him.

Shiek isn't Zelda? Wouldn't Impa make more sense?

And what does Saria have to steal?

Prosecutor Ralph would be epic. He'd be like Klavier though...

Quite the opposite, I'm afraid.
A certain event has changed his personality, so he feels Link is "in his way".
Ralph steals the Kokiri Emerald from Kokiri Forest, or at least they'd like him too.
Well, Impa is like 60 in this game, so alright, I'll make her the victim instead.

Oh my god, that is pretty awesome. Especially since you made it from scratch.
I'll put it in, see if you can make a sprite sheet for it though, don't want it to not move.
Here's a few poses you can do:
Normal view: When you encounter him out of court
Damage (Prosecution and Regular View): Like the other breakdowns
Objection (Prosecution view)
Throwing Daggers (Prosecution View): Good luck
Surprised (Prosecution and Regular view would be nice)
And you could try Link too.
Thanks for your assistance. :edgy:

Hats off to you, my good man.
I have no idea who the Judge should be, though. Ideas are welcome.
Ralph's desk slam sounds good, I was thinking of something similar for Link's desk slam.

Seriously though, he would be good. Alternatives = Darunia, Talon.

Ralph just doesn't seem like a dagger guy to me.

Hmm, you think a good plot point would be Richard mistaken for Ralph?
