But anyways, thanks to this anime, every (and I emphasize, EVERY) time I see/hear/taste(?) the word "despair", I instantly think/shout/dance "ZETSUBOU SHITA!" (or "I'm in despair!" but it's not as catchy :D) For example, I was reading Things Fall Apart the other day and I come across a chapter in which the main character experiences "despair" in his yam farming, and towards the end a random farmer hangs himself.... srsly, "the state of society has put me in despair yet again!"

This anime is great for highlighting the World's many social problems like Hikkikomoris, married high school girl, strangely optimistic girl who has suicidal parents, girl who has a wierd fetish of pulling tails, just to get hurt, girl who communicates solely via text messaging, Stalker girl, Perfectionist girl, the Yaoi/ Boys Love fan-girl, a suicidal teacher who is a cynic and a pessimist, full of despair, the illegal foreigner who bought a Japanese boy's birth certificate, another foreigner with split personalities, a boy who's deserted by both of his parents and sent to his uncle to live with who has a strange hair fetish and a love for the hikkikomori and more.
This anime should be used to illustrate the world's many social problems to psychologists and social workers as a visual aid, albeit it does show the most extreme of cases.
It shows a lot of extremes socially, psychologically, and more.
It truly is a stunning series with the best of music, the best being "Kuusou Rumba" by Kenji Ohtsuki.
The first Opening theme "Hito to shite Jiku ga Burete iru" by Kenji Ohstuki shows lots of sexually suggestive images, such as the girls in lesbian-ish poses, bondage, the teacher kissing a girl on the thigh and at the end, it shows Kafuka pregnant with suggestive scenes of sperm fertilizing the egg in order to create new life.
That one magical girl-ish opening makes me want to see a series for that as well.
All in all, it is an engaging, fun, random, dramatic but yet serious series that is full of laughter in the darkest of scenes, I suggest that everybody watch it as it is very epic and a good show to watch anywhere, anytime.

I just finished watching Zoku, which I thought was fantastic, does anyone know where to find a good sub for the third season? I only got through the first episode, and can't find decent subs for anything else.
EDIT: WHOOPS, I thought Goku was Season 3, but its Zan.

I have both of the manga and they are freaking hilarious! Also, I loved the Death Note and Phoenix Wright Parodies in an episode in the 1st season...I think it was episode 3, but im not sure...

What I like a lot about the series' particular style is that the textures of the characters' clothes just go straight over the folds like they've been added in Paint. It's not really ugly, it adds more charm.

Also, watch Zoku. It gets hilarious at about episode 4.
