Eurovision is pure fail.

That said, Lordi's Hard Rock Hallelujah, if only for the pure comedy of having a band in demon makeup in Eurovision.

This.
Lordi are awesome, and the fact that they only went to the Eurovision to advertise themselves without the intention of actually winning makes it even more funny.
They mocked Eurvosion, and they mocked it good. :kyouya:

I absolutely hate the norwegian entry this year, mostly because it's so damn overplayed.

I voted Moldova.

Also, eurovision is lame.

Even if it's just for the lulz. XD

I really liked that t.A.T.u. sang "Ne Ver, ne Boisia" for I guess it was the opening ceremonies this year? But they performed it for the show in 2003. :3

loobywright, if you visit http://www.diggiloo.net/, you'll understand better about Eurovision history.

The UK's song of 2009 wasn't bad.
The Israel's song of 2009, for me, is a song for makin' peace between Israel and Palestine.
Now, there must be another way. :acro:

Since when is Israel considered part of Europe? :knock-knock:

Anyway, my favourite song has to be Waterloo by ABBA, way back in 1974.

Cool Vibes is quite not bad.
Did you know that Marie Myriam is a daughter of her Portuguese parents? The reason is her REAL name or she is Myriam Lopes. I didn't know it earlier.
About Portugal, their song in 2008 was the best song of the year. That's one of my favorites. :tennis:

Latvia's Wolves of the Sea from last year, if only because it led to the far superior version by Alestorm.

Which is why a version by a pirate-themed metal band trumps a synth version.

I don't care if you like or not the Alestorm version, Perrydotto. About Germany in 2009, thier song wasn't bad at all, 'cause it'll attract some girls. And I saw Dita von Teese in the German entry in 2009, it seems a bit like a sexy lady. :bellboy:

1995 - It was the year when Norway has won for a second time with the song "Nocturne" from Secret Garden. That song has got only a few words. To see the lyrics in Norwegian or in English, go to http://www.diggiloo.net/?1995no and/or http://www.diggiloo.net/?1995no11

In the Eurovision Song Contest 2010, at Fornebu Arena, in Oslo, the slogan will be "Share the moment".

Hi! Sorry of keep waiting. I've got some news! If you believe esctoday, Israel and Germany are the favorites to win ESC 2010: http://www.esctoday.com/news/read/15406 and http://www.esctoday.com/news/read/15478

But, Bosnia & Herzegovina will withdraw this year's event if it doesn't pay the money to EBU:
http://www.esctoday.com/news/read/15132

Portugal has choosed an entry not as good as it seems. It's Filipa Azevedo with "Há dias assim" (It's one of those days).

Hello, sorry for retardement. I've got good news for German and Turkish members and bad news for Swiss members like me, despite my Portuguese.

The good news: GERMANY WON EUROVISION SONG CONTEST 2010 WITH LENA MEYER-LANDRUT AND HER SONG "SATTELITE"! :ron-jazz: :gant-jazz: :jazzedgy: :jazzsneeze: :jazzron:
Germany will organize Eurovision Song Contest in 2011
Semi-finals: 17th May 2011 and 19th May 2011
Final: 21st May 2011
In Final, there will be the Big 4 (Germany (winner in 2010 with 246 points), France, United Kingdom, Spain) and Turkey (Of course, it's Turkey, because they arrived in second place and one of the Big 4 has won. That's why Turkey has automatically qualified in the final.)

The bad news, Switzerland will withdraw due of one of the worst results in their history, last place in semi-final 2 with only 2 points received by Georgia. They were last not because of the song, but by the fact that in Switzerland, 22 of 26 cantons and half-cantons have curtly accepted the initiative against the constructions of the new minarets, a political initiative defended by the Popular Party of Switzerland, a political party that I qualify of "Racist", "Homophobe" and "Islamophobe". I hate this s#¦¬+% political party. :edgeworth: And I'm furious with the Swiss autorities. :edgeworth:
Anyways, the Swiss autorities will decide if they'll continue or not. :yogi:

UK's entry this year wasn't as bad as UK's entry in 2007. I prefered also Jade Ewen's "My Time". Nice voice.

About UK's entry in 2003, they've sadly got nil points due a technical fault and due to the Iraq War.

If you read this, you'll understand: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cry_Baby_(Jemini_song)

Despite of their nil points, "Cry Baby" was one of the most sucessful songs who got no points.

Some artists who represented a country had bad results, not for the song, but for their differences. These are the case of Nuno Resende (Belgium 2005) who wasn't qualified due of his Portuguese roots because he was born in Oporto, Portugal; and the case of Gipsy.cz (Czech Republic 2009) who weren't qualified because Radoslav "Gypsy" Banga was born in Prague where he lived as a street boy from the age of 13.
