The Namekian kid that's become friends with Gohan then learn he has healing powers, then Frieza kills him, the he gets resurrected on he lives happily on New Planet Namek and then Kami dies and Goku gets Dende to replace him as guardian of earth.

Although, to be fair, most DBZ villains ended up becoming good guys.
And I'll give you Cell, but that's partly what my point is. In the Cell Saga, it was like they were culminating this long foreshadow that Gohan was going to surpass his father, then, in DBGT, he is almost worthless and everyone relies on Goku for everything again.
(And I'll admit I've never seen all of the Buu Saga.

And the Pavlov thing was simply essentially him training natural instincts. By shouting Dodge Gohan associated it with dodging, not taking into account the context resulting in a dodge being a natural instinct.
Also Goku kills quite a few, specially in GT with the spirit bomb solving anything.

But Trunks made it look easy.
