The movie so many (including myself) have been waiting for is finally coming out tomorrow!

Does anyone plan to go to the midnight showing? I just bought my ticket. I'm really excited. ^_^

I'm gonna wait a week while all the crowds clear out cuz I enjoy movies better that way. :godot:
I'm psyched to see how they're gonna pull off this movie, but I was a bit surprised by the PG rating. I guess maybe having the Harry Potter movies with a PG rating brought more audiences, but considering that each book is getting more morbid IMO, I hope they've got a plan to do the last book justice even if I didn't like the ending D:
BUT ANYWAYS, I'm a potter freak, so I'm definitely watching this and buying it when it comes out on DVD, no matter what I think of it. ~

I'd love to go to the midnight showing; unfortunately, I've got work tomorrow. Might see it after work, though.

If you don't mind MOVIE spoilers, then here's an interesting read:

Is There Reason for Potter Fans to Fret?

Basically: Some changes and some romance issues...

Dumbledor's funeral...?!

And the...

Battle at Hogwarts...?!

WHAT THE... :beef:

I-I didn't knew that! David Yates cut, let say, two important scenes of the film! OMFG! :meekins:

I'm going to the midnight showing! I've never done that before but I felt like it and got tickets this time.

I'm quite excited, and I'm sure I'll like it but as usual I will be filled with misgivings the more I think about it afterwards and realize what was missing.

YET ONE MIGHT SAY THAT THIS IS THE FUN OF IT ALL, NO? :godot:

Never understood the love of Harry Potter and it's randomly generated names for items and spells etc in that darn school which would fail it's OFSTED inspection before you can say bribiousauthoritiousmaximartus and I guess I never will. It makes me feel queezy seeing that horse loving kid or that strange ginger kids face, specially when it is fan made things about them as 8 year old brats getting freaky.

Though saying that, I do know some people my age who are all excited about this and are likely to be waiting to see this as soon as possible along with millions of other hype lovers.

SerialVER, it does look a bit odd from the outside, but if you read the books, perhaps you'll change your mind! :pearl:
I wanted to go to the midnight showing...which happens to be in less than 2 hours, but I'm really useless at night. I'd probably fall asleep in line and wake up after it's over. So I'll just run down to the cinema in the evening. I'm preying it won't be sold out. If it is, I'll probably bawl like an idiot. I can't miss it!

I'm really disappointed over the fact that they cut
Spoiler:
Dumbledore's funeral, he was such an amazing character, and many people don't read the books, so he deserves that much screen time for them.

Spoiler:
They cut the Battle at Hogwarts, so basically there's no climax. :Pizza2: I object to that.

I can't decide if it was really good but messy, or shit with some hilarious and awesome parts.

So it is the usual fare as far as HP movies go!

Remember that movie seven is going to be in two parts, so they keep some good bits for the first (slower) part of that. Same thing was done with moving Shelob to the third movie in LotR.

I'll agree with this, but I can't help but feel as though, when you compare all the other movies in the series to this one in terms of adaptation, this one diverged from it's source the most, and in some of the strangest ways.

Not to say that I didn't still like it...but it was just so different...I'll still be seeing it again with my sister on Friday.

^I agree.

Okay, so I saw the midnight showing, and although it was really good and extremely funny and all that, I was disappointed about all the scenes they cut out. I mean, it was better than the fifth one, which they completely f'ked up, but the whole movie seemed so rushed. Overall, it was on par with the fourth movie.

Can't wait for the DVD to come out, so I can see the cut scenes. I thought it was a pretty good movie. Defiantly had that dark atmosphere. Luna's glasses were great.

I can't wait to watch it and see how much it'll suck. I've been a certified Potterhead for a long time, and have always drawn pleasure and amusement from seeing how bad the movies suck. Which all of them do so far.

AW! XD They don't...all...suck...not really, anyway.

I just go to the movies expecting them not to stick to the books 100%, and I'm able to enjoy it a little more because my expectations aren't way high.

Man I enjoy the movies a whole lot. I find them ridiculously charming, occasionally captivating, and usually very entertaining and well-portrayed.

I just watched this movie. I kind of liked it, but, it just seemed a little too packed and rushed. Still, I would've loved a little more action in the movie and less romance. There were also some cheesy parts, but not too many. The music is pretty well-done though.

I went and saw it. It was pretty good, as good as it would be anyway. I was EXTREMELY disappointed the removed the climactic scene. The other one, not as much, but partly because they might put it in the next movie. It was an adaptation from the book. Arguably the second best of the films. You can't really compare any of them to the fourth, THAT one was terrible.

I was disappointed that they removed the most climatic scene of the book and the most emotional scene. I have to say though that I still did enjoy the movie, I just felt with those scenes it would have added alot more 'oomph'.

Whatever it is fans will always think that the movies are good but the books are great.

As always, I liked the school portions of Harry Potter quite a bit and then when it gets into OOGA BOOGA DARK ARTS

The Half-Blood Prince had some good school portions in the books, due to Harry god-moding with the H-BP book, but then there was all that gay british slang like SNARFING or whatever it was snarf snarf and other whocares gay teenage shit

The movie renewed my childhood fascination with Harry Potter for a short time, but by the time it was over I stopped giving a shit and now my stomach hurts

Harry Potter = A+ universe, D- CHARACTERS AND STORYLINESDUrrrrrrr

I've read the harry potter books so many times I've lost count, so the past...two movies disapointed me a bit. This one was actaully done excellently, though. They took out parts that I often skim through anyway, and added some scenes that actaully made it a bit BETTER. As far as a Harry Potter Movie goes, it was great, and I loved it.

My thoughts on the movies quality, from best to worst, is:
1. Philosphers Stone (Spelled that wrong I bet...)
2. Half Blood Prince
3. Prisoner of Azkaban
4. Chamber of Secrets
5. Goblet of Fire
6. Order of the Phoenix

...Gotta admit, though, "Snogging" sounds better when you read it, not when you say it. When they said it in the movie theatre I flinched. (Didn't know words could do that. :meekins: )

I wanted Snape to yell, "THIS, IS, HOGWARTS!" and kick dumbledore off the tower, but they just HAD to do it like the book.
