Mia's totally my favorite character, and my hair looks pretty much like hers (except it's a little shorter), so I really want to cosplay her. But there are a couple of things I haven't been able to figure out...
1) The magatama especially (the people in the bead store looked at me so funny when I asked if they had one xD)... but also the muffler. I have no idea where to find one.
2) And the thing, what exactly is that thing that she wears under her jacket and where can I find it? My mom says it's a corset and my aunt says it's a bustier... and I don't know where to find either.

I'd really rather not do young Mia (and for the same reason, not Maya!Mia or Pearl!Mia).
I have like no sewing skills but if there was even a pattern or something my mom could help me or something. ^^
Personally, I had to make my own scarf out of some fabric--just a shortish length lightweight fabric so it wouldn't kill me in the summer. Lots of people go for yellow scarves, which aren't that difficult to find in the right season. If that's what you want to go for, just keep your eye out at Icing or other accessory shops.
As for the under-the-jacket, it *is* called a bustier. There are many variations on this concept. What I found that worked best is one at Frederick's. It was on the more expensive side and you have to be at least a 34B to pull it off (and actually, it doesn't cinch as tightly if you're small-framed, but oh well), but the construction is so exact that it was worth it for me. It all comes down to what you're comfortable with--if you're not opposed to wearing a bustier and claiming your womanhood, that's what I'd recommend most. If you're not as comfortable, just go for an undershirt of a blackish grey color. If you're not wearing something you're comfortable with, it will show when people photograph you--so I recommend doing whatever you think will work best for you!
I wish you good luck in your cosplay-hunting! If you need any more tips, you're welcome to hit me up with a PM. I will never retire my Mia costume because it means so much to me!
