I would be that friend. I just wanted to get something positive out there before I touch on the JoJo's reference. Personally, I think it's rather interesting that Gumshoe's competence as a detective would dramatically increase after reading Death Note. That shows quite a bit of promise. Now for the reference. Travolta wasn't kidding when I said that I was crying. Literal tears of shock and awe fell from my eyes, rolled down my cheek, and landed on my keyboard. There are no words to describe how disturbingly shocking that image is; to quote better writers: Should have sent a poet. I felt violated, yet awe inspired by the sheer spectacle that is Gumshoe, in Dio cosplay, copying a meme originated off of a flash movie thing, that was based off of a Dreamcast/PSX fighting title, based on the immensely successful "Stardust Crusaders" part of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure... And to just think that all of this was Gumshoe? I honestly cannot say whether I should cry from the feeling of being violated on two fandom fronts, or if I should cry from the sheer awesomeness this actually entails... God help me...
EDIT: A little correction I just have to make, Dio cries out "Muda" not that "Dabudabuda"-whatever you wrote down. "Muda", as far as I've been told, informed, translated, means "useless". Basically, he just repeatedly says "useless" over and over again when he attacks with a barrage of fists. This is reflective of his view towards the resistance from the humans that he fights, as he believes himself to be infinitely superior to humans and any attempts to stop him are "Useless". I'm surprised you know enough about JoJo's Bizarre Adventure to reference Dio's special, but not much about his character or stand cry. While this doesn't have much to do with Ace Attorney, this is just part of a tip to help you develop as a fan fiction writer: When referencing something, please make sure you are well informed about what you are talking about. Otherwise, it will make you look severely ill-informed which may turn readers away from your works.

You know, I honestly thought thought about it, but as soon as I noticed the JoJo thing, I was already expecting a Haruhi number. It's a lot like watching a guy dressed as a Leprechaun walk into a coffee shop: The first thing you think is "Where is the gun going to come from". Except in this case, it's "Where is the Hare Hare Yukai going to come from?" You just sort of learn to expect things like this because bad things always come in twos. Besides, I'm a huge JoJo's fan and something like that just makes me want to punch a wall because someone abusing the meme without even the slightest knowledge of where it comes from fills me with a fanboyish sense of "AUGH". I actually do recommend that you read the JoJo's manga, because it's actually quite good.

They aren't that bad, I've definitely seen worse. Then again, the only other fanfics I've read were the ones by squirrelking and the "my immortal" thing, so anything looks really good in comparison.
