As the topic title states, which Prosecutor do you feel the most sympathetic towards?
I haven't played GS3 since I can't read Japanese, so this part may not be entirely accurate. I apologise in advance if I made any mistakes.
I personally feel the most for Edgeworth. No one deserves to suffer what he did.

I haven't played GS3 and I haven't really been reading up on GS4 so I don't know much about Godot and whoever GS4's prosecuter is, but I wonder if they suffered more than Edgeworth has.

Supposedly before Case 5, he DID use forged evidence and probably felt guilty about it afterwards. There's a lot of pressure on poor Miles.

Franziska was really a b*t*h the whole way through, and actually thoroughly annoying, consistently. The ending of case four was really an interesting touch to her personality and something completely different. It's hard being Maya's age, trying to play it cool, and always be in daddy's shadow, who happens to be the ...something something ... of Edgeworth.

Actually, I'd also think Payne scores quite high here. Always losing can be quite hard for one's personality, especially if you are known to be a winner all the time.
And theres Manfred.
I agree what has been said about Edgeworth, and I feel no sympathy what-so-ever to Franziska.

Naaah, onto the topic. My choice is Edgeworth, he has had nightmares in 15 years about that incident, where he lost his father at a young age and had to give up dreaming about being a defense attorney. Very sad.
Godot comes in a close second.

She worked her ass off since she was a little, little girl to try and be good enough for her father. Now Manfred? I see him as just having paid attention to Edgeworth so he could raise him solely for the purpose of destroying him later. Franziska never had any sort of a childhood (at least Miles had something before DL-6 when he was 9) at ALL. Her entire life she's just been trying desperately to follow Miles and follow her father's twisted principles of perfection, only to discover that Miles doesn't need her anymore (in fact, he never really did) and that she is, in the sense of the word, completely alone.
That's just sad.

Ah, but she's got Adrian, so she isn't completely alone.
I think the prosecutor I feel most sorry for is Edgeworth because of reasons that have already been explained in this thread. But then again, that may be because he's the prosecutor we spend most time with/learn most about...
Franziska is a close second though, as CFTF has thoughtfully explained. And is shown in those extremely good comics.
But, one prosecutor no-one's mentioned is Lana.
But then again, when the Case is over, and Lana & Ema hug, except for a short prison sentence for Lana, everything's alright. Ema becomes a detective like she wanted, presumably Lana gets off quick and Gant is sent down. But Franziska and Edgeworth, they're never going to get their childhood's back. Friska's always going to be trying to catch up to Edgeworth, and Edgeworth's going to have to live with what happened.

I think alot of the sympathy arround some of the c harracters are completely based on fandom. I mean, I can hardly see Franziska just wanting to be friends with Miles and holding tea parties, for instance. I more see Franziska as the little devil girl that bulleys Edgeworth all the time.

In Franziska's case, it's true that we're not given a lot of explicit cues revolving around the details of her childhood, but we do see enough that I think it justifies sympathy. She had it pretty rough. Of course, knowing that, I was still relatively ambivalent towards her until we learned that her actions in JfA were based around her love of Edgeworth. She broke down at the end at the threat of really losing him, after all. It's that relationship and that love that ultimately makes her redeemable, and what really won me over to her as a character.
I imagine she bullied Miles around a lot in childhood, too, but she does love him dearly and feels a lot of anguish about his "leaving her behind". Crying over wanting to play with him in tea parties? I can see how that can be hard to swallow, but it is based on the canon of her just wanting him to recognize her.
Oh, and to answer the topic--Edgeworth has probably suffered the most (if we can even quantify such a thing), so it's probably him, though I'm quite sympathetic to all of them. Godot, however, hurts me the most, simply because:

Saw it mostly as a half-hearted attempt at making her seem more human. Of course, having played GS3 before JFA, I see that she hasn't had any development at all, and the entire scene is not a sign of development as much as her not being herself. 
I don't even count that scene as part of Franziska. Franziska consist only of: Whipping in court, whipping outside of court, calling Phoenix fool, making up evidence, whipping police force, making deals with witnesses, then whipping them, and calling the detective Scruffy. And whip him once more.I think I better play through the game again. Without having to cut and paste images every half a second.
Damn you, Capcom! Release the game here already!
