He's sweating it- I'm getting somewhere... Phoenix grinned to himself, turning fully to Miles. Looking at him, Miles seemed quite flushed all of a sudden. That must've been where things started to get awkward. So, let me guess, Miles response would've been something to the tune of 'so you should've stayed' to embarrass him. Would've done it pretty effectively too. Poor Zeth. What would he have done? How does he deal with...
"Gambling," Phoenix stated outloud, tapping his stubbled chin, "You said that he flipped out at something you said- If you had embarrassed him enough, then he would've reverted back to gambling to get rid of his problem. It's what he use to do with all of his problems. There was a gamble, wasn't there? One he was sure he'd win probably cause it wasn't fun anymore. He couldn't help making it a gamble anyway though. What were the terms of the gamble from both sides?

"Heh, no troubles," Zeth replied with a growl, holding up his map, "I only had to ask for directions pretty much immediately after we left. If you were trying to ditch me, then you shouldn't have passed the invite over to me. I would've been more than happy staying at the lab and processing my evidence all by myself."

Darn it, how'd he guess the gamble, too!?! *one more lock breaks, two remain*
"You know Gant too well." Miles shook his head, avoiding eye contact with Phoenix. "Yes, he made a gamble. One, like you said, he was sure he'd win. His terms were that, if the evidence broke my case, I would get out of his life. Which, to be honest I'm not quite sure how I'd do due to the fact that we work together." Miles took a deep breath and continued. "My terms were that, if the evidence didn't change anything, he would come back over tonight and help us finish role playing the scene with Marie, Rocio, and David." He chuckled to himself. "I told him we still needed a Rocio."
Klavier Gavin
Klavier flinched severely when Ema hit him. Ach, she can hit hard. He rubbed his chest to try to ease the pain.
Klavier turned back to Zeth, and adopted an expression with no hint of cockiness. "Herr Gant," he looked down at the ground. "I don't know what to say." Klavier lifted his head and looked Zeth in the eye. "I had it in my mind to go your speed, I truly did. If you've ever rode anything with an engine with as much horsepower as mine, you know how easy it is to disregard proper speeds." Klavier smiled weakly. "I was not trying to ditch you. If I did not want you here, I would not have requested the pleasure of your company, let alone offer to treat you to a meal in such a place as this." Klaiver pointed inside at the decor. "As you see, this place has a fairly large overhead. It's not a inexpensive place, I assure you." He turned back to Zeth, hoping that they could go and eat now, as he was feeling extremely peckish.

"Well, I did get to know him pretty well over that month I employed him," Phoenix agreed, "but this Skunk changes his stripes sometimes. So, you gambled that he'd have to sit through more of us role playing?" Chuckling to himself, Phoenix couldn't help imagining Zeth's look of horror at sitting through more of that. That sounded like punishment indeed. Grinning, Phoenix glanced back towards Miles again, tucking some of Miles' hair back tenderly, "You were going to force him to see more of the person he didn't like at the time? I do believe you're turning into an Evil little man." Laughing once more, Phoenix withdrew his hand, looking back to the road. He wasn't quite there yet with the whole truth. Miles was still hiding something. What was it?
"So, Phoenix started, remembering the pact from the night before, "I can see why this confused you, he was the one that started the pact between the two of you. He sounded pretty sincere last night that he wanted friendship out of you though. I can't see why he'd hold a bet that he was sure he'd win if he wanted to be friends." Glancing back to Miles, Phoenix narrowed his eyes, "But he wouldn't ditch finishing the gamble for lunch- If he was THAT passionate about getting rid of you, he'd do it right then and there. What happened? Did one of you pull out of the dare?"

"WHA..." Stopping his outburst in his tracks, Miles arrogance had crossed oner Zeth's mind when Klavier started talking about the restaurant being expensive. Who cared about how ritzy the restaurant was? That shouldn't hold any bearing on how much he cared about his presence. No, he couldn't treat Klavier like he did Miles. There wasn't many good people left in the prosecuting department, and there was even less that he'd consider being friends with. Klavier just didn't realize that what he said made him feel like he was purchased, rather than trying to make him feel wanted. That, or he was still over reacting... No. Klavier wasn't like that. He was still young, and impressionable. He had to keep that in mind when talking to him.
"It's fine," Zeth managed to reply, ruffling his hair back into shape again, "I knew where I was going in the end, so no harm done I guess..." Locking his bike and placing his helmet on the handle bars, he hoped Klavier's confidence in the parking would keep it safe as they all entered the restaurant.
((Sorry- saying the restaurant is expensive is a bit of a weak excuse to me ^^; Coming from anyone else, it's a show of bravado. He's lucky Zeth holds him in such high regard ^^; ))

Klavier was pleasantly surprised at Ema's smile; he had never seen one so lovely. She smiles so schön.
"Ja, I think we are." Klavier gave Zeth a slight smile, as he felt that things between them once again were smooth. ((lol, Klavier's so oblivious. He apparently didn't notice Zeth's original reaction.))
"Let's try again." He held out his arm, "Shall we?"

Miles, feeling a little more confident, decided to try to slow Phoenix up. "And what makes you think the gamble isn't still in effect?"

Ooooh- Defensive, are we Miles? Chuckling, Miles side step didn't phase Phoenix at all. That was where the interesting information lay obviously.
"Zeth would never sit still till he completed a dare. Specially if it was something THAT important to him. If you wound him up enough to make a dare price you leaving his life, then he couldn't just walk off and have lunch. He'd give what ever it took to complete the dare and then laugh his way to freedom." Leaning closer, Phoenix grinned slyly, "But then again, as stupid as it sounds, I more inclined to think that Zeth would be more likely to withdraw from a dare than let you have the power. So what was it Miles? Did Zeth pull out? Or did someone else intervene?"

Ema noticed Zeth on Klavier's other arm and smiled to herself. Seems all that tension is gone now. She looked up and saw Klavier watching her with a small smile on his face. She smiled faintly back at him before turning to look at the restaurant.

((lol, I was thinking Wizard of Oz, too. We need one more person, though.
((OK, I guess describing the layout is my prerogative. I'll give it a go then.))
Klavier sauntered into the room, Zeth on one arm, Ema on the other, and was greeted with a bow by a waitress adorning a white kimono. A red dragon with green eyes spanned the length of the fabric and a thin belt made of golden knitting was neatly tied into a knot at her side. Her inky-black hair was tied into a large bun and held in-place with plain, wooden chopsticks. She stood beside a small oak partition that had ''Sakura Kabuki" painted in red on the front.
"Welcome to Sakura Kabuki." Her voice was meek, but it fit with the rest of her. "Do you have reservations?"
"Ja, we do. Unter, 'Klavier Gavin'. " He looked around the restaurant as the waitress scanned the register. She nodded, then started towards the table Klavier had requested.
As the three of them followed the waitress ((hope that's ok; I assumed they'd follow)) to their table, Klavier continued to skim over the restaurant. To his left, Klavier could see a plain white door, one which he assumed led to the kitchen, with a small circular window near the top. Over to his right was the eating area. He could see several decorative folding screens, all concealing a separate Kotatsu ((low eating table)). Being made of thin crêpe paper, the screens were lit from the inside-out so as to not show the customers' shadows. One of the things Klavier loved about this restaurant was the attention to privacy; it turned out to be especially handy during his time with the Gavineers.
After they approached the table, the waitress bowed, then motioned for the three to remove their footwear. Klavier did as he was instructed, and placed his shoes near the edge of the folding screen. He took a seat, folded his legs and scooted in towards the Kotatsu.

Miles rolled his neck. This was not going as he had intended. Fine. I'll let him have that one. *one lock breaks, one remains*
Try as he might, he could not hide anything from Phoenix. "Yes, Zeth pulled out. He even went as far as to cancel the dare. He said how it was a, and I quote, "stupid dare" and how he, quote "wasn't thinking straight"." Miles let out a small puff of air. "Of course, that is to say he ever thinks straight, but still."
Miles turned onto Second Street, then headed for the restaurant. "We should be there in three minutes. You still want to eat there?" He tried desperately to change the subject.

"Wasn't thinking straight?" Phoenix mumbled to himself as Miles pulled into Second street, "No, that is unusual... even for him. Zeth might not realize when he makes little sense, but when he himself sees it..."
"We should be there in three minutes. You still want to eat there?" Miles piped up, obviously trying to change the subject. Glancing back at Miles, one psyche lock still remained. He had already 'remembered' alot more than he let on that he did- what could he still be leaving out? Looking at Miles expression intensely, he wished just for one moment that he had Apollo's ability of seeing micro emotions so he could see through Miles' poker face. One thing that took ALOT to do, was breaking through Miles' arguments. He was a planner, and it took alot of thinking outside of the square to break through. Miles had obviously thought out his tactics of talking to himself on the way there. Darn Prosecutors. Why did I have to fall for someone that can lie so easily?
"Yes," Phoenix replied, looking through Miles' hair to his eyes, noticing that they were slightly guilty looking. Narrowing his eyes slightly as he analyzed what he knew of the two, Phoenix nodded, "I'd love to go there..." Suddenly his eyes lit up, as he got an idea of how he might pry an answer out of Miles, "Oh, and one more question, What were the terms of Zeth severing the dare?" Phoenix grinned as Miles pulled into the parking lot of the restaurant, "I find it hard to believe that you'd let him off lightly after he started something as harsh as THAT."

((Perfect- Hobo can wear his sweatshirt in private ;) So, I wonder how Klavier will take having thier privacy invaded by Miles and Phoenix ^^ ))
Pausing by the screen door as he was asked to remove his footwear, he was so use to Italian restaurants, and French ones where the tables were tall, and the room was loud. He had been to 5 star restaurants before when he was younger, so it wasn't a price range shock, more as it was a culture shock for him. Removing shoes for dinner? sitting at a low table? Glancing over the table, he noticed that there was already a pipping hot tea pot of green tea, and 3 tiny cups to pour the drink into ((this is al like.... every asian restaurant ^^; )).
"Tea?" Zeth managed to say, still standing at the threshold of the screened off room, "and why is the table so low?" glancing at the table, Zeth noticed that there wasn't any knives and folks. Only a neatly placed pair of sticks at each of the positions. It was all getting a bit much for Zeth. "Whaaa..... I can't eat with those!"
((Some people need to be eased into Asian. Zeth is one. Spaghetti for this guy ;) ))

Believe me, it's not cheap "I'm glad you like it, Ema." Klavier gave Ema a nice smile, then looked up at a Zeth who appeared to not have much understanding of Asian culture. "Whaaa.... I can't eat with those!"
"And why not?" Klavier picked up the two sticks, positioned them in his hands, and demonstrated how they were used. "See? Easy. You just need to get one stick between your pointer finger and your thumb, and the other between your thumb and your middle finger. Then slowly move the top one."
Just then, the waitress spoke up. "Yes, it is very easy Sir. You will have no trouble." She was very confident in that fact, as she seemed to get that reaction a lot. "Now please take off your shoes and be seated. Chef Chang will be out in a minute." The waitress placed menus at the three place settings, then bowed and took her leave.
"You'd better do as the fräulein waitress said, Herr Gant. Chef Chang is one my personal favorite when it comes to chefs, but he can be a bit uninviting at first. He does not take well to customers who are ignorant of his culture." Klavier pointed with his open hand towards the empty spot next to him. "Sit down, bitte."

Miles, again, tried to avoid the question. "Are you sure you don't want to eat at my place or something? I can order take-out if you have your heart set on Japanese cuisine." He bit his lip. Wright can't find out the truth. He just can't. Not about Zeth being.... jealous of us. How humiliating. Miles continued to drive, but he sped up, so as to not prolong the trip.
((No, don't go to Miles house! You have to crash Klavier's lunch party!!!))

Getting slightly irritated that Miles was avoiding his question, Phoenix narrowed his eyes at Miles. What was he being SO darn secretive about that he couldn't tell him? Did Miles demand that Zeth did something for him that he doesn't want to say? What on earth would Miles ask that would make him so... Widening his eyes, Phoenix suddenly felt his heart sink.
He knew it was all too good to be true. A man of Miles' caliber loving him dispite the man he had become? Zeth leading such a lonely life? The two of them bickering to eachother like a married couple? Could it be...
"No..." Phoenix breathed, noticing Miles' flushed look, "You didn't... did you? You..." Looking away in panic, Phoenix felt emotion tear up his chest. Could Miles REALLY be having an affair with Zeth? It didn't make sense! Then again, Zeth had never had a girlfriend the whole time he had known him, and he was pretty dedicated to his ex mentor, Diego... Maybe he didn't know Zeth as well as he thought he did. Did the two of them really...
Finally releasing a tear, Phoenix turned back to Miles, his blue eyes glazed over in shock as he looked straight through Miles. It's the only logical reason. What else could Miles be so bent on avoiding? So guarded at hiding?
"Miles, are you..." Finding it difficult to even suggest what he was about to suggest, Phoenix held his light head, massaging his temples, "I know that Zeth is a lonely person, Miles, but you... You're not having an affair with him, are you?"
((... BWAHAHAHAHAH!!!!! The Gant legacy lives on

Too scared to ask for a fork, Zeth felt slightly light headed as he slipped off his shoes, and placed them neatly beside Klavier's. Carefully stepping into the secluded room, Zeth's face turned limp, as he sat down beside Klavier and Ema around the short table. Picking up the chopsticks like it was a knife- one in each hand, Zeth looked at them questionably.
"I'm sure this looks simple to you," Zeth murmered, clumsily poking the sticks together, "but I REALLY can't see me eating steak with these. Unless the chef cuts up the meat for us?"

Klavier looked at Zeth curiously. "Ahaha. Steak? They don't serve that here." Where does he think he is? Klavier had to try hard to hold back more of his laugh. "This is an Asian restaurant. Therefore, they serve Asian cuisine." He picked up Zeth's menu and searched it for some type of beef. He pointed to 'Beef with Oyster Sauce' "Here's some beef for you, though. I'm sure there are many other types, also. Just look around; you'll need to know what you want when the chef gets here." He put Zeth's menu down and leaned back. "The best I've had here is the lo mein. Especially with extra soy sauce. I don't know what they do to the noodles, but they are divine." He picked up his menu and looked it over again. Klavier spoke as he scanned it. "The show the chef puts on is also very nice if you order lo mein. I believe it's their speciality....." He continued to look. "Here it is." He leaned over at Zeth's menu and found the lo mein. "You can order Lo Mein with beef." Klavier sat up in his seat. "That should work out perfect for you."

Miles nearly swerved off the road. "WHAT THE!?!" He regained control of his vehicle, then gave Phoenix a brief look of astonishment. That's not where I wanted this to go. "No, of course not. He's not my type...... at all."
With the level Phoenix brought this too, Miles felt compelled to deescalate the situation. Miles felt compelled to tell Phoenix the truth. *one psyche lock breaks, none remain. Yay!*
He pulled over, then rotated his torso towards Phoenix, keeping his balance by pushing his arm on the back of his seat. "Wright," He took Phoenix's face in his hand and turned it towards him. Noticing a tear, he began to feel tremendous guilt pile up on his shoulders. He took a deep breath and sighed. "Wright, this is very hard for me to say." ((First things first though- I don't make too bad of a Phoenix:-))

Please- only positive comments about the cosplays. I'm not in the boat for critique.((I lost my voice by 2pm. It was SO WORTH IT. Oh, and yes- the 3 bottles of hair product DID come out after 4 washes, and Turnabout Attorney sold REALLY well O.O I was surprised, I admit it. Apparently everyone was very impressed by the cover. I'm very happy about that, cause I specifically put alot of effort into the cover, worried that a plain one would hold back the sales.))

"Jealous?" Phoenix breathed, looking back at Miles with a blank expression, not sure what to make of the turn of events, "Zeth said that he was jealous of us? That's why he acted all strangely?" Glancing slightly to the side, Phoenix considered this thought for a moment, stroking his stubbled chin. "Well, that's makes sense then, I guess." Glancing back at Miles, Phoenix nodded in understanding, "Miles, he's so hostile to you, cause he's trying his hardest to be friends with you. Really, he is, but he can't handle knowing that someone he doesn't like yet has such a close relationship. It's frustrating for him. That's why he wanted to get rid of you. Cause he didn't want to be reminded that you had so much more than he did. He's running away..." Glancing back to Miles, Phoenix smiled, "If you really want to make an effort for winning Zeth over finally though, a sure fire way would be to fill in that space in his life with something. Or someone. If you helped him find love, I'm sure that he'd warm to you VERY quickly."
Zeth
"Ok, sure- that sound s fine to me!" Zeth bleated, finally relaxing a little. Looking at Ema and Klavier modelling their chopstick poise, Zeth tried to mimic them, letting out a yelp as his chopsticks flicked out of position and went flying in the air.

Ema picked Zeth's chopsticks up and handed them back to him, arranging his fingers over the sticks impatiently. "It's really not difficult," she said exasperatedly.

((Thanks ^^ It was great fun cosplaying him ^^ I got alot of attention last year as Feenie, and was talked into Phoenix for this year. I'm glad I did. I had photo ops ALL over the place. I think I may have been one of the most well known cosplayers. Specially since I couldn't see without my glasses on. I think having a blind Phoenix objecting to everything made it that much more hilarious ^^ ))
Turning bright red as Ema fiddled with his chopsticks, Zeth bit his lip, frustrated that even Ema, as agresive of a give as she was, even SHE had found someone that cared about her that much. She seemed to be ignoring that fact, but Zeth knew it was a front to protect herself. Klavier just needed to find her sweet side now he held her hand.
Hand...
Glancing at Ema's hands on his, Zeth's face grew long. It's been so long since I had a girfriend... maybe I'm no longer capable of making a woman happy. Sighing loudly without realising it, Zeth glanced aside, no longer looking at his hands as Ema fought against his fingers. His hands relaxed his grip on the chopsticks, letting Ema take control of the moment of his hand. There's not a woman alive that can relate to what I've been through growing up in the Mafia though.

Ema settled Zeth's hand back on the table triumphantly before looking up at him. Spotting his expression, she frowned, looking from him to Klavier before deducing that this time, Klavier had not caused the offence. "Hey, what's wrong?"

"Bah." Miles turned his head away from Phoenix. "Wright, it isn't my job to play match maker for him." He immediately rejected the idea. "If someone comes along who seems like a good person, then hey, I might introduce him or her to Gant. However, I don't plan on spending my evenings walking the streets looking for love just because Gant is in a foul mood." Miles smiled, and faced Phoenix. "I have better things to do." With that, he took Phoenix's chin in his hand and pulled him in closer.

Flashing his eyes back into reality, Zeth didn't realize he had zoned off and into his thoughts so obviously in mixed company. Feeling embarrassed that he was causing so much concern, Zeth scooted back from the table quickly, dropping the chopsticks again.
"Sorry!" Zeth stammered, slapping his hand over his mouth to hide himself. What's up with you Zeth?! Stop getting so carried away with yourself. Just blend into the background and let Ema and Klavier enjoy their lunch. You're making too much drama. You use to be stronger than this! Glancing aside, Zeth removed his hand, and took in a few soothing breaths of air before turning back to the two with a mostly real looking smile, "Don't mind me. I'm just thinking about the court case, that's all. It seems that the relationship between the victim and the defendant is in question. If they were a couple then..." Trailing off as he realized he was talking too much again, Zeth picked up the chopsticks once more, hoping that they had heard enough and would leave it at that.

About to reply that it wasn't what he meant, and that he was just offering a hypothesis of what was happening to Zeth, Phoenix went to open his mouth to talk, as Miles pulled Phoenix closer and said, "I have better things to do."
Pausing his rebuttal, fixing Zeth problems was instantly the last thing on his mind as Miles’ face drew nearer. Softening his expression, Phoenix’s eyes relaxed from Miles’ touch, inching forward. Gliding his hand up Miles’ cheek, to behind his head, Phoenix smiled, closing his eyes in content, “Apparently I do too,” Phoenix breathed, brushing his lips across Miles’.

))Pretending not to notice what Ema was saying to Klavier, Zeth didn't need to bother lip reading her to know what she was talking about. Grumbling to himself, Zeth looked at his hand, still feeling Ema's hand touching his as she formed his hand into the correct hand position for the chopsticks. Moulding his hand to where he remembered the feel of her hand, Zeth steadied his hand, as he 'chopped' his chop sticks together a few times. Seeming to have some control over the odd utensil finally, Zeth's expression brightened.
"Hey, look!" Zeth grinned, "I think I can do it now! It's a little awkward, but I think I might actually get through a meal with these!" Chopping the sticks together a few more times, Zeth smiled to himself proudly. It's such a shame that the biggest challenge I face nowdays is chopsticks. Life use to be so interesting making everything a gamble. Glancing up at Ema chattering with Klavier, Zeth laced his fingers together and peered at them thoughtfully. Miles... You wanted me to join you and Phoenix tonight to help out with that case. I... I shouldn't say no since I am trying to become friends with him, but I really have no inspiration to go if it's going to be those two cuddling all night at my expense. Unless of corse, I can find a way of making it interesting...

Miles proceeded to pull Phoenix's lips to his. He wrapped his arm around Phoenix's neck, then held the position for a few seconds. He closed his eyes.
After a few seconds of hearing his stomach growl, Miles decided to break the kiss. He patted Phoenix on the back, then sat straight up. "Let's go get some lunch. I'm feeling quite hollow."

"Lets not keep it waiting then, shall we?" Phoenix smiled, stealing a kiss from Miles. Moving his head to Miles' ear, Phoenix gave it a quick kiss, holding his mouth just beside it for a moment longer, "I'm glad to hear that you wouldn't have an affair with Zeth. I was worried for a moment there..." cradling Miles' opposite cheek as he rested his lips on the other cheek, Phoenix closed his eyes for a moment to gain control on his emotions. "I thought for a moment there I had lost you." He said softly against Miles' cheek.

Yeah, They're definitely talking about me... Zeth sighed, closing his eyes. I've alienated them already. Good going Zeth. Way to make a friend. Oh well- so do you dig yourself a deeper hole? Or try to get out of it?
"So, I heard that the Gavineer's last album when triple platinum 2 weeks after your last concert a few months back." Zeth suddenly piped up, "Sounds like the fans still support you despite Daryan's court case." Leanign forward to break up their convo about him, Zeth hoped he wasn't treading on toes for the millionth time. His sources were starting to become unreliable now days in certain areas, "I heard you were going to go solo- unless you're looking for a new Base guitarist?"
